I believe the first one was abreviated to fix inside the green button.

The others are correct too

Quote from amp88 :It's true that simply increasing the frequency of the physics loop isn't going to make an unrealistic sim magically realistic, but having a high frequency physics loop (at least in critical aspects) is a requirement for an accurate (real-time driving) simulation.

Obviously that's not to say that AC is necessarily more realistic than LFS because of the higher frequency ('main') physics loop either. I do, however, think that AC's higher system requirements is a better path for more realistic and more complete physics simulation than the LFS path. The LFS path seems to be to try and be inclusive to those with obsolete hardware/software, possibly at the expense of those with newer hardware/software, whose equipment is able to run a simulation with higher fidelity/realism.

That's exactly my thoughts. You still need a programer that codes good physics, Hz won't help you if your math is wrong or too simplistic. Though if you aim for the best simulation you need them.

Ironically, if your math is more complex you probably will be forced to decrease the Hz, so... yeah, there must be a sweet spot, but this spot should keep up with the times. If LFS just doubled its physics rate now that computers are more than capable of that...

Quote from amp88 :
Kunos has mentioned in a Go development thread that he intends to hit "300-400Hz on the physics side" for Assetto Corsa (source). The traction control on one of the road cars in-game is set at 400Hz, suggesting (but not necessarily confirming...) they're hitting the upper bound of that at the moment.

Hz are not everything. Forza runs at 360Hz to be better at 30FPS, other sims do not make anything special despite running at a very decent rate (rFactor at 400HZ...). Though, obviously, having more Hz is hardly ever a bad thing.

Quote from MandulAA :Tried with 0.6E and 0.6E14, both seems ok. It must be rare problem Fordman had. Sorry for my useless report...

It may not be that useles if we figure out that only Fordman was suffering this issue. I wonder how many people uses SoftTH, nobody seems to be reporting their experience :S

Quote from MandulAA :Don't know if it's fixed or not:
Downloaded the newest SoftTH (v2.08b alpha test) from their forums, placed that d3d9.dll in LFS folder. LFS started up normally. Started connecting to a host, while connecting switched to windowed mode (Shift+F4), and then back to fullscreen while still connecting to that host, no crashes. Connected to that host, no crashes.
Everything seems ok. Now I don't know what happened at Fordie, maybe you know what should and what shouldn't happen, just tested it.

You can check an older test patch to see if then it crashes, so you know if it is really fixed or maybe you weren't suffering that bug anyway

Oh, they finally got something to do in the game

That video looks amazing, it looks quite promising. Though it looks too expensive to me, though I'll keep an eye on it, maybe it is worth it

lol the summer lasts for 6 years there?

It is plausible that summer has not even started in Britain in those 6 years

Anyone know if it is the same potentiometer as used in the pedals?

Not at all. They are completely diferent.

Quote from Bose321 :Lower the rumble in-game for the engine etc, or get a new wheel.

Oh, and there is now a multiplayer mod for this game: http://ets2mp.com/

Best.game.ever.

There are literary hundreds of people online and you will come across more trucks than in SP mode (almost all the time ). Really good fun with some people that don't dick around!

SET STEAM TO UPDATE THE GAME MANUALLY if you are using the mod, SCS released today an update that broke it (you know, memory adresses changed, they have to update them all)

Note also that I seem to remember reading some fault with the G25 shifter mechanism ....the micro switches either work or not....personally I never used the shifter for changing gear.

I used mine 6+ years on sequential (the H-pattern was used very few times), and it was so worn-out that even the sequential shifts were failing...

It's the same as the pedals. When they were new they worked fine. After some time they start to spike and then some months/years later they are too broken to be used without getting really annoyed by them.

Quote from NitroNitrous :What a great comparison, cheers And is there anything I can do to keep it below 95%? What's the point of the message otherwise

The game needs more CPU, close all other programs to free some resources. That is the only thing you can do, unless you want to change your CPU.

I see that warning at about 50% of the time while in a race (online or with AI). Not comfortable at all, yet it is playable. Didn't want to spend money on a new computer, but sure everytime I fire up AC I have the same impulse to just buy all the new parts haha

Quote from nacim :I know, but all the library that a game need, exist in open-source version, such as OpenGL and OpenCL, to replace the DirectX.
Valve created a tool to help dev to convert theirs games from DirectX9 to OpenGL (ToGL)

I know, I was the first to tell Scawen about its existence

But it still requires an investigation and implementation time that I', pretty sure Scawen would like to spend on other things. This OpenGL vs DirectX was already discussed back when the first test patch came up, so I don't think he has changed his mind, though he is the only one who knows it for sure hehe

Quote from nacim :@Scawen : If you have problem with DirectX, why don't you just start to convert it to OpenGL ? It's faster, compatible with all OS, and open source, so you are not dependent of any Microsoft's decision.

DirectX is a lot more that the graphics. So OpenGL is not gonna happen anytime soon in LFS.

And if you don't like that, there is og_rely, that runs on Python.

Any help?

Did you try to actually read the message?

It is telling you that your 2010 version is too old. Try the 2012 or newer.

EDIT: (tried on hu.lfsmanual.net) If logged in, the main page is correct and not blank, if I log out, it's blank again.)

Do what Victor told us, press the edit button and save it. It just worked for Spanish and French.

I confirm it's working for me too.
Thanks for the tip to solve it in the future.
LFSManual.net is empty

Every page I load is pretty much blank. I get the wiki menus and page title, but the articles are missing.

It's the same for English and Spanish. Logging off and refreshing the cache didn't help either.

The articles are there, because the "Random page" does indeed redirect to a correct URL.

1 - Are they the same button in LFS controls mapping?
2 & 3 - Calibrate your axes inside LFS, probably you have them locked, so it can't update the center to its real position.

Quote from Whiskey :
I'm running stock clock on GPU and GPU memory right now. Let's hope that it's alright now.

A month without artifacts. I guess it should be safe to return the GPU to its normal OC, and to keep an aye on the memory clock OC, as that seems to have caused all the artifacts.

Thank you all for your advices once again

Valve Publically Releases &quo ... ; Direct3D-to-OpenGL Shim

Quote : ToGL is the translation layer Valve uses to bring OpenGL support to their games, essentially emulating a limited subset of the Direct3D 9.0c API and translating those calls to OpenGL. It is implemented within the game binary itself (this isn't an external wrapper), so this is primarily a tool for game developers.

Maybe this could be interesting for Scawen. I get lost when things go too deep into technical stuff, but I think this may be a great step forward to support Linux natively.

The device must report the minimum and maximum value. This is why the wheel self-calibrate when you plug it in, but for the pedals it's needed to do it manually. iRacing probably remembers the maximum value from the last time you used it, but for many games you'll still have to calibrate the pedals manually.
