Quote from Bose321 :Maybe there's some kind of proxy so that you can use both. I'm not sure if that exists for LFS though. I believe Codemasters games have one though.

Never heard of og_rely? https://www.lfsforum.net/showt ... php?p=1329031#post1329031

It's a proxy written in Python, that allows you to use as many OutGauge apps as you want

I like the lights, it's not been long enough to see if I'd still look at them once I get used to them though.

Quote from Shotglass :which wont help one bit for eliminating update rate interferences on a sim that runs its physics at 100hz

I'm pretty sure if they can run at 144Hz they can slow down to 120, 100, 75 and 60Hz, just like any other monitor do.

Quote from Shotglass :unfortunately no monitor these days suppots 100hz output
oh the good old crt days

We have TN panels capable of doing 144 Hz, CRT monitors were good, but technology has catched up and now you don't have any real reason to miss them so much

Most modern TVs have an independent setting for headphone volume, so you have to mute (or set volume to zero with the remote) the speakers, and enter the menu to change the volume of the headset. Could this be the case with your monitor?

Here you have the official requirements: http://www.lfs.net/?page=downloads

Here is the actual performance of several computers: http://lfsbench.iron.eu.org/?c=completemax

And here you can compare two GPUs to find the equivalences: http://www.hwcompare.com/

Quote from blackbird04217 :
Do any aliens (or anyone really) want to weight in here and give me a reasonable shiftDownRPM and shiftUpRPM for each car? Please?

For the siftDownRPM I think you can calculate that. When I need to know if I can reduce without blowing up the engine I do a couple downshifts to see where the RPM increase is below the redline. So in my opinion it should be fine to do the calculation artificially (not very accurate if you want, or a bit random to avoid it being always perfect).

I guess I could be CPU bound (though no core is near 100% :S), as I've run the benchmark on my real LFS (1080 vs 1280x960) and I got pretty much the same result.

LFS_0.6E Avg: 41.877 - Min: 24 - Max: 61

In some games I'm CPU bound, and in other is the GPU that can'¡t keep up. But LFS never uses all it has available. But I don't worry too much, this is South City with full AI grid, most of the time my situation is better.

I have a clean installation to benchmark each version, and these are my results.

I find it weird how the 1st test has a noticeable better performance. And it looks that DX9 performs just a bit worse than DX8, who would have guess that?

LFS_0.6E Avg: 45.669 - Min: 26 - Max: 66
LFS_0.6E Avg: 41.971 - Min: 26 - Max: 60
LFS_0.6E Avg: 41.764 - Min: 25 - Max: 61
------------------
LFS_6E12 Avg: 41.020 - Min: 22 - Max: 60
LFS_6E12 Avg: 41.078 - Min: 25 - Max: 59

Flame, it looks like my AMD HD5750 is neither doing any improvement

Quote from Flame CZE :Yes, I guess I can't expect any more improvements out of my AMD Athlon II X3 455 and ATI Radeon HD 5770

I have quite similar specs, I'll do some tests tomorrow and see if I am more fortunate than you

You need to setup your InSim and OutGauge settings (quite obvious), but you also need to use this file.

Open Fanaleds, then click File->Open settings folder, and copy the file there.

Don't worry mate, I'm sure pretty much everybody has made the same mistake. It is even worse when you already know how it works and still fail haha

Were you trying it in a car with H-pattern gearbox or was the car sequential?

Neither LFS nor Profiler does not have any deadzone setting, you can use DxTweak2 to change it. Though obviously it's better to fix the pedals if possible xD

Without the driver the range is very llimited. And what you describe is just the "spring force" centering the wheel, pretty sure this is also due to the lack of the driver.

About your issue installing it, I'm afraid I can't help you, after 10 years using it I had some problems with it, but never saw what you are suffering.

It looks to me like you are suffering from this problem.

Quote from DANIEL-CRO :This happen only in LFS when you run AMD card with 13.4 or later drivers on win XP.

I had this saved, as I reinstalled Windows recently, but fortunately I had no issues with the newer drivers.

It looks that there is a second video, that shows Schumi going slow, as his family already said.

Sorry for that, but we weren't able to hide the beauty of this monitor xD I'm pretty sure you'll love it as much as we do.

Options->Controls->Axis->Unclock, recalibrate (turning from lock to lock) and lock them again (if you want).

This is the reason of the wheel auto-spinning on boot, but you probably have that option locked with an incorrect calibration and LFS is doing weird things. This issue is not that extrange, and the pedals will always suffer from it.

Sorry for this small off-topic.

Quote from tristancliffe : on low/medium settings in AC I generally hover around 50fps
1GB ATi Radeon HD4870

I have AC at the very lowest settings, with 2x AA, and it runs at 80fps on 1080. Comparing both cards seems that you could up the graphics a bit, though I can't really say that it looks bad at my settings ehhe

Anti Aliasing. To improve image quality removing the jagged edges.

Quote from HenkkaWRC :Monitor, that its used in gaming, shouldnt have more than 2ms response time. Anything more than that creates input lag.

Speaking about that. My monitor has a very low input lag, that compensates the delay of the IPS panel. I'm pretty much unable to see ghosting in any monitor though, so I can't throw my opinion on this topic.

I have a Dell U2312HM, so I could provide any feedback that you wanted. I guess it is more expensive than what you said, but you should consider getting a good monitor that last longer than a cheap one.

I like all of the monitor (but the 2 things mentioned below). IPS panels FTW, 4 usb ports, fully adjustable base...

On the bad side, it has light bleeding on the bottom-right corner, though it's only seen on full black images, so it don't really bother me. And the screen is 'half matte', my previous monitor was matte and the window did not reflect, on this you can see the light it casts, but only when the blind is fully open.

I read this review prior to buying mine, it helped a lot to make the decision: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2312hm.htm
