Quote from eobet :specially so when the game these days reaches hundreds of FPS (probably turning curbs into a epilepsy hazard even).

Best (fastest) monitors nowadays are 144Hz, so you are fine until the first epilepsy attacks are recorded xD

Yeah, right. So....everybody is now stupid and is going to believe this

As TB said in his rant video, other monetized videos are still there.

I watched the whole video. Each minute I told myself that it was enough and I should stop watching it, but I didn't. Thanks to it I saw the incredible amazing combat AI displayed at the very end of the video.

At this era, with all the globalization we have, wasn't it better to bury this piece of crap instead of ruining your "career" trying to get some income money to compensate the development cost?

Quote from pärtan :Something that could be done is to apply lerp (linear interpolation) to the replays so it blends over between the updates. (only optional in replay mode though or it would mess with collisions and multiplayer performance)
It wouldn't be 100% accurate, but it would be smooth.

Car position are already interpolated during online games.

In a replay you know the next position, so you don't have to make a prediction, you know for sure the interpolated position at any time.
Scawen never answered when this got suggested in the past, but I think we all agree that having a steeringwheel that does not jump all over the place would be cool hehe

Quote from Audisentor :Hello,

I just bougt LFS S2 last week and I have to say that the feel is amazing. Except for a slight lack of tarmac/road feel in the ffb and rumble(simvibe).

I think someone made a soundpack adapted to the low frecunzies that butkicker needs.

Quote from Mysho :If this game had multiplayer SCS Software would make millions...

I have the feeling that this will be it. Now they are creating the database of drivers, so they could be saving our mileage and cargos without us knowing (or wait til the next patch). From ther to having a centralized site for VTC (Virtual Tracking Companies) and real multiplayer can't be that far away.

Plus this would put the multiplayer game appart from the main game, so they wouldn't have to rewrite the whole engine for ETS3/ATS.

You need to send a keypress event to Windows to keep the gear selected. This would probably interfere with the chat and other things, so you should check this to stop sending that key.

Another option is to use sequential gearbox, and just send as many keypresses you need to reach the desired gear. This would avoid most of the problems you could have to face.

The new consoles are very similar to PC arquitechture, while I also think it is too soon (knowing what they did with IV...) I know they are capable of doing it this year.

I can wait for months with no problem, I can't stand the graphics in current gen consoles, so I can only wait for the PC version or don't wait the game at all.

Yes, I don't know if Dirt outputs OutSim by default or it must be enabled in some file like LFS.

Remember that you have examples on how to create the listener at Codeplex's page: http://insimdotnet.codeplex.com/

You just need to read the bans file to populate the website.

Insim.net is what you need: https://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=68564

During its development it was tested with Dirt games when someone found that they used the same protocol

Quote from BlueFlame :I didn't realise real cars had a ffb deadzone in the middle. My bad.

I bet that 90% of that deadzone is caused by Logitech hardware and not by the game itself.

They had to rebrand that model... but it will always be remembered hahaha

If I'm not wrong the same happened to the Renault Clio in Japan.

Quote from CarlLefrancois :
regarding fps btw in case you don't know LFS input processing is not affected by your fps. 120 "fps" on a 60hz monitor is 100% no different than 60 fps! sorry this is logic haha.

I don't know about the inputs, but the outputs are affected for sure. I can tell you when the framerate is below 30~35 just feeling the force feedback.

Quote from PeterN :The Google Nexus 5 allegedly has a 4.95" 1080p display.

And the Samsung Galaxy S4, since April. The screens are there for a "long" time now, I think it's just that Oculus don't want to use them for now until the consumer version needs to be assembled.

Quote from Storm_Cloud :I would not say "sadly". Part of the human condition (it is certainly part of mine) is that deadlines are a great motivation to complete. "It's done when it's done" didn't do Duke Nukem any good, did it?

I doubt that the dev team would rush out any old rubbish safe in the knowledge that they could hoover up 3-5,000 S3 payments in a weekend. I think they have too much pride in their project for that.

I agree with you, but I find it kind of frustating that after all the effort Scawen has put into looking for "perfection" instead of going for the easy way is going to (probably) turn around and make some compromises that would have speed up the release monthos/years ago...

Although reading Scawen's post makes me feel like the compromises that he needs to do are not that bad at this point, but only he knows the expected realism he was aiming for.

Quote from Storm_Cloud :Good news (for us) that the money is drying up!

Sadly but true, money pressure leading to a half (or is it almost) finished physics after this huge wait is not a bad thing for the community at all. I just hope that they are good enough to not be in the To-Do list for a few years so LFS can improve on other areas.

I'm still waiting for brake temps and other things that I think are easy to implement.

Quote from Dygear :I was under the impression that even demo users are required to have a LFS login.

Yes, but some of the players sure have tendency to get banned from everywhere, and for them it is free to just create another account to bypass their bans. I don't race on demo servers so I can't say for sure if this kind of people is still there or they are almost gone now.

Quote from Dygear :Why are you having people "!login" and "!register" in the first place, you can do both when they connect to the server in the first place. Why add this layer of complexity.

I guess it might have relation with demo users having global bans more often than licensed users.

Quote from Lorand :Hi!

I recently installed windows 8.1. Now everytime i restart windows i need to unlock LFS again. So i have no unlocks left for the week. Does anyone have any ideas?

If LFS is installed inside Program Files, move it anywhere.

Run LFS as admin, unlock it, exit and reboot your computer (mainly in case you use hibernation). Then you can/(should be able) run it normally without it locking itself.

This looks similar to your issue: https://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=70150

That case was solved by reinstalling Windows.
