I find interesting how I already know what everybody that own an Oculus says on their reviews and yet I still watch the whole video haha

I liked it, specially because you say that you are not that experienced in LFS, and seeing you with the Oculus not crashing into every car and wall is reassuring on how real and natural it must feel.

Don't know what you are talking about, but you are probably right

Quote from Dygear :Oh yes, I forgot about the in between states. I gues that means 4 bits then! 1000 for far left, 0100 for mid left, 0000 for center, 0010 for mid right, and 0001 for far right.

It can also be like this:

110 far left, 010 left, 000 center, 001 right, 101 far right

This probably isn't that logical to work with, but I prove it can be done with just 3 bits.

Quote from DANIEL-CRO :Would be cool, but first it need some kind of moves smoothing. No thanks if it will be laggy as wheel movements.

I really don't know if I agree or I don't haha

If the deal was crappy move with the promise of an smooth version some motnhs later I would want that for sure. If we were never to get the cool version I guess I'd still want it (afterall there can't be that many people affected by this, right?), but I also agree that it won't look specially good.

Quote from just2fast :Some quick notes:

Bug: suspension view in the box is totally corrupt in the rift.

Future improvement suggestion:
It´s seems that the headtracking isn´t recorded when watching the replay. It would be nice to see the real headmovements there.
Especially when racing online (havent´t tested yet), so it would be possible to see where a driver is looking at.

Yeah, this is something I noticed years ago, the head only rotates (or whatever the word should be) 45º & 90º, it would be cool to record a lot more positions, so you could see where people with TrackIR and Rift look at.

Yep, that's what the 'X'box stands for

A question related the 3D mirrors. Would it be the right moment to calculate the 3 mirrors separately now that you are probably going to look into that code?

Are you aware that you need to rewire the shifter conector to allow it to work on a G25? (not that it is that hard though)

I guess they are the same, as the wheel clamps of the Momo and the G25 were the same hehe

Clutch pedal in LFS does simulate the "death zone" a real clutch has on both sides. In the calibration screen you see the real input, while on the pedal bars you see what LFS is really doing with your input.

First of all, you are showing a cracked game

You have to open the driver of your graphic card, and change the mipmap of DDS textures from performance to quality.

Quote from Ped7g :What do you mean by that? I can't figure it out. Chromatic aberration is optical error of lenses used at cameras, while LFS 3D engine has no such errors, i.e. there's nothing to "correct". What am I missing?

edit: or you want to have that error in TV view implemented? Why? Looks fugly. I prefer perfect lenses.

If I'm not terrible wrong is something related to the Oculus, and not the normal rendering on your screen.

What exactly do you mean by taskbar?

In Windows XP you had the "Quick launch bar", and then, separated the "Taskbar". In Windows 7 that is just one thing, so you got your links, but when you execute that program it doesn't duplicate the icon.

So yes, he meant "Taskbar" and he is totaly right about what he is saying.

It's really hard to me to realize the magnitude of these catastrophes. The only "positive" thing one can think of under these circumstances is the kindness of the people, wether they have lost everything or they do still have a house like I saw on the video. People helping out now that actually matters must be remembered, and not the ones that will press the Like button on several social websites.

Oh boy, I thought that the post was about the worst case scenario. I'm glad that they are alive, and hopefuly ok, after the tornado.

I've never been on such a situation, and sure nobody wants to, so I can only wish they can recover from this experience without any further loss.

Scawen, I'd like to know something kind of related to the DX9 topic, though I don't want people to start a discussion about this, so let's hope people behave well hehe.

Some years ago you said that making LFS multi-threaded could be done in about 1 month (IIRC). Would it make sense to do this change just after/before the DX9? I know it's impossible to do at the same time because it would be a hell to debug that, but it could be done in the same test patch period to have a mega revamped LFS version once it's done.

I'll understand if you dont want to answer this right now, when you are still implementing the 3D, and sorry for this offtopic post

Quote from Specht77 :Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the FaceTrackNoIr get your movement from recognizing your face on the cam, not from some kind of accelerometer, gyroscope, etc...

So in this case woudn't be needed an Oculus Rift emulator, instead of a TrackIr emulator?

While it seems to be the case, I must note that FTNIR has a plugin to allow tracking of LED, and it is way less buggier than FreeTrack, so his post may be not that wrong after all hehe
