While playing you don't have a virtual screen, you ARE in the 3D world. That slider would only be used in the main menu, replays and maybe for the screen overlays.
I don't own a Rift, but I think I know the answer to two of your questions.
I've heard that the Rift has a sweet spot in the middle of the lense where everything looks better.
This is probably due to LFS' lack of color aberration correction. Everything at the edge of your field of view should be very bad in LFS (for the moment).
I've watched his unboxing and Euro Truck Simulator 2 videos, and you can see how much impressed he is with LFS. In ETS2 he is chatting normally, but in LFS he can barely think of any word to say
If the motion platform told Oculus SDK (or whatever is apropriatte) how much degrees it moved, then the rotational tracking could be corrected (camera for positional tracking can be hardmounted to the moving rig). Not that it is actually done, but I guess it is doable if someone really gets the motivation to do that.
They already fixed it. For tha last weeks I'm finding Kunos to be more productive (maybe I'm just more aware of the news) promising and releasing features in a timely manner
The new netcode looks smoth, but I got 2 crashes caused to lag. I was 5 meters behind a friend (60ms constant) and suddenly we went airborn. Later going door to door I got pushed a bit sideways, this lag just pushed me to the grass so it wans't that bad.
Anyways, it is a lot better than before. And the new UI in the server (chat window, times, etc) is very cool.
Back when the G27 came out, Scawen contacted Logitech and they told him to go figure by himself how the LEDs worked. He told us that the SDK was awful and he didn't wanted to lose time decyphering it.
I guess that is still his opinion, mainly because having Fanaleds installed help a lot in many games so native support is not that important.
Maybe if someone provided him with the source code required to make them work he would put it into the game without hesitation, but I wouldn't expect him bodering with it other way.
Did a quick test with same settings and replay, and the new patch increases about 10 fps. From 40~50 to 50~60, so it looks like a solid 20~25% improvement on my aging computer
My unnofficial diagnostic is "unplugging the power cord fixed it". For now I don't have any overclodk, though the D-day it failed after disabling it, so... I can only think about the power being cut for the night.
I got worried on February by some artifacts, but I found that it was caused by too much overclock to VRAM speed, just had to decrease it a bit. I agree with your advice, I have already checked some new parts in case of a breakdown.
Yup, you are right, but that is exactly what I intend. I don't need a computer that last 10 years being crappy, so after 3 years (when it can't quite keep up with new games) I started to do some OC. At first it was not that hard, but as time passes I don't have that much problem exchanging lifespam for performance.
I think I know the risk/benefits of OC'ing, but I could be wrong.
