Quote from Gekkibi :
Then he spills my drink and wants to have a fight. What an asswipes all hockey-fans in here. They should seriously get a life.

I agree, my neighbour had his friends over to watch a match few days ago, the sounds they produced, it sounded like barking dogs combined with sounds that monkeys do. Especially loud outbursts meant goals, I could know the final score by counting those.

Quote from gezmoor :I'm not wrong. I used the word approximately for a reason. The difference in pressure between the initial and final temps is to all intents and purposes the same, (ie the difference is insignificant), when you set the pressure at the initial or final temp.

You wrote this: "pressure between the two remains the same"
The same is the same, your word approximately is in another place. In this particular case the difference is nearly same though, simply because the difference between hot and cold is quite small. It's 323 and 343 °K. Now, the difference between 1 - (323/343) and (343/323) - 1 is quite small in this case, but those two equations are not the same.

Quote :
No PV will not rise by the same as T. The equation isn't an equality it's proportional. You can replace nR, (or even Nk for the other form of the equation), with X, as you correctly state in our scenario they are a constant. But that constant isn't necessarily, (in fact is highly unlikely to be), equal to 1. Therefore PV /= T. PV ~ T . There is a big difference.

You seem not to understand what proportional means:

Quote from gezmoor :Opps I missread that too !

Doesn't affect the calculation however. If the temp change between cold and optimal is 20 deg, (as it is in the case of the R1), the change in pressure between the two remains the same irrespective of which one you are setting in the pits. ie pressure difference between cold and optimal remains approx 1.5 psi.

You're wrong again.

Cold to warm:
P(cold)*(T(warm)/T(cold)=P(warm).

Warm to cold:
P(warm)*(T(cold)/T(warm)=P(cold).

If look at the two formulas, you'll notice that difference P(warm)-P(cold) is more in the first formula than in second.

Quote from Mp3 Astra :Hmm, didn't realise this thread was epically bumped...

Yes, I suspected the video was fake from the beginning, now I found the proof and had to bump up the thread. The Internet is very serious business

Quote from [RCG]Boosted :7,5 meters is nothing.
if it would acclerate that fast the G forces would be...well not really healthy.

it may acclerate fast but i dont think that fast.

The acceleration is not linear but 60MPH in 7.62m is less than 5G on average.

Maybe 5 hours. Not as long as I played red alert in one go, it was probably about 15h a few times.

Quote from Vykos69 :isnt there an overall speedlimit on UK motorways? How about doing that speed for a longer time? Frankfurt - Cologne (180kms) in 1hour 10 mins.

I drove that road in last may, there was heavy traffic especially on two lane parts, and some roadworks, they slow down a lot. So it means you have to go pretty fast on fast sections .

But if you drive with light traffic and no roadworks you'd need to keep a reasonable speed of 160.

One of the best series ever created is The Sopranos.

Heroes is pretty cheesy and unoriginal. Those narrations "The future is filled with promise", "Where does this path lead?" are so funny I can't listen to them with a serious face .

But I still watched all the episodes of the first season, it's some kind of cheap entertainment.

0.6 would be S2 final, and there is a lot to add to the current version to make it S2 final.

Determing the best possible lap would require absolutely immense, yet finite number of calculations. The only computer capable of such an unbelievable computating capabilites which comes to mind is a quantum computer, which the aliens probably have at their disposal.

Determing very fast lap maybe half a % slower than the theoretical fastest lap is, I believe, possible for a team of professionals, including drivers, engineers, programmers and a supercomputer.

Quote from simma :No bigie, just interested

But I don't usually answer calls which caller I don't know and certainly not answering calls from other countries. There's a slight change that it would be a hoax call and it would cost me lot.

Well, for the situation has changed, at least for calls from Finland. I installed a software to my S60 phone that when call comes the software finds out who is calling, if I might not have that number.

Call me paranoid if you like

A lot of Finns are like that, over-cautious.

Here is what worth seeing in my opinion, I'll repeat some of Smax's.

Museum island's Berliner Dom, the old museum, the old national gallery.
Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten, on Alexander platz you can visit the TV tower, it cost 8 euros IIRC.
And maybe Sanssouci in Potsdam, about 20 minutes by S-bahn.

I'm glad my expectations were wrong, General Lee. And congrats to hectic too for the short answer

Same thing here, I almost not-clicked on the thread , and was expecting some lame off topic. Well done Lee.
