It's such a shame to see posts like these, surely there must be something we could do to help get things moving. I can understand that the devs must have bills to pay and other commitments, and LFS may not be top priority for them anymore. so there must be something we can do to help. aside from BUYING A LICENSE!
I'd love some open config races too but they bugger my poor old pooter up, single figure framerates aren't good and that's before it's trying to render 30 loonies in my mirror.
You'll find that most similar r/l cars are a LOT more predictable than the RAC. It's chassis is sensitive to throttle inputs like a good mid engined car should be, but when you combine that with a torquey turbo lump, poor weight distribution and limited setup options, it makes is a tough car to fully get to grips with.
If you don't trust your car you won't enjoy racing it, so not many people do.
One shot qualy doesn't sound that appealing, I'm not much good at it and I don't think it's gonna be worth the trouble of organizing it, just to mix the grid up a bit. These are 60 lap races after all.
Also Saturday sessions would mean we have to have 2 nights free every 2 weeks, instead of just the 1.And this may put a lot of people off what is supposed to be a fairly informal league.
The League sounds great though! I can't wait to get some points on the board!
We should have us a poll!
It'll give franky a chance to unpack his socks and spoons. and we usually end up somewhere most people enjoy. (i.e. Fern Bay )
I was hoping not to have to sit this one out, but as we have more drivers than cockpits, I guess I'll be on the sidelines during the show. At least the GP virgins in the team will get a good go!
Any chance you could sort out the insim relay for the server so i can at least watch with Remote? that would be nice
hey franky, is there any chance that you could change the practice server to something like 10/15 laps as a 5 lap sprint isn't exectly the best kind of practice for a GP
I don't think it's really a problem if you go online with any version of tweak since you'd get booted out with an OOS error unless everybody has EXACTLY the same car specs. The best thing to do is make a preset file for Tweak and share it. (but only on your own server!)
Let's face it, Real-life race teams will spend thousands on chasing tiny gains like that so i guess it's fair game, If chasing tiny little margins turns you on, so be it.
I use a clutch/shifter setup which puts me at a disadvantage against those that use 2 pedals and paddle-shift. But it doesn't matter to me though, If I'm the fastest Clutch user on the chart, that's as good as a WR for me!
Fern bay was pretty much designed with the LX in mind. Any of the variations suit the LXs very well, very technical and not too open like weshill or aston.
South city is a good choice too, you'll end up with a lot of bent LXs though.
Try to bear in mind that the LX4 is more fun on a medium/tight track, and the LX6s suit a big wide open space. IMHO you should pick a track based on it's suitability for the LX4 as it's the 'sweeter' car to drive, and you'll end up with more satisfied punters that way.
The peugeots had by far the faster car. But poor performance/strategy in wet conditions and poor reliability meant they couldn't capitalize on that advantage. I'm sure that they'll come back next year with those problems solved. And they'll probably win.
Great Race!
Well done to the Charouz LMP1 Aston, Dome for making it against the odds. and of course the 009 Aston for putting those lovely colours back on the top step.
Try using a little less front anti roll bar, or a little more toe in at the back. it'll be a bit more oversteery but in a way that'll work the rear tyres properly. hybrids are a good option and add a little balance to how the tyres warm up. but you can go just as fast with normals, it just takes a more attacking style/setup to get heat into them.
Releasing a do-everything tweaking tool could be disatrous for LFS. maybee in the future we could have 'custom' cars with some kind of scrutineer for online use. but ATM that's just a pipe dream.
And it's very important to keep this to licenced racers only, you get enough of a game for free anyway, why should you get any more? If you could tweak your way to a GTR why would you want to buy one for £24?
