If the game is really outdated how can it be fun and still rocks?
Until it is fun and it rocks it really cannot be considered outdated for definition
Anyway, for me is no more fun like it was, at least after having played iracing, so i agree on the fact that it is becoming outdated. But considering all the fun that it gave me in the past, it was well worth my 36 euros, even if it will no more being developed
It's a market, sometimes a product is the benchmark, sometimes it is no more on the edge. If a consumer no more like a product that he used to like, he will choose another one that better fits his present needs. It's a shame, but it happens.
But after all it does not seems to me that development has been stopped, and i hope it will continue and being faster in the future.
Maybe the devs just need to rethink the way they are working on it, or maybe they know things that we don't know and have some secret weapons they will use at the right time. Who knows
Until this "right time", if you no more like lfs you can play another sim
I just want to say that i moved to a new house 2 times in my life (1 changing region, 600km away from old one, im 22 years old) and i understand your situation. Be happy because it was a fast change anyway and you didn't lose many months doing it
And about internet connection support, don't worry, here in Italy is worse
Good luck with your life and enjoy the time with your childrens
Just don't forget us, we are still waiting the scirocco
Thanks, in the video credits at the end is written Bomb by Bus and was unable to find it
Anyway this title doesn't change much the difficulty of finding it because if u try writing "bomb bush" on youtube it shows you everything except music videos LOL
Well, Dawes answered for me (dunno why im no more receiving mail notification from that topic o_O)
Like he said, in iR u have to care A LOT about bumps on track, it require pratically a completely different driving style.
However i dont think that lfs tracks are flat, i use Y axis head movements in lfs and sometimes even in straight these are really pronounced.
The problem is that even if the head is shaking a lot FF still feels flat
I know that patch Z is imminent (see Y31 thread) but i hope that at least in S2 final devs will improve that aspect.
Until now lfs had to care about sims of same year (ISI gmotor2 and pmotor2 are there since 2005, like S2), but now a FF "iR like" should really be the standard for 2008 and future years sims.
I'm happy to see that the thread has started an interesting discussion
Unluckily im not able to go so deep into details like you guys, but i hope devs will take a look there
I have always liked LFS force feedback, but after having tested for 1 month iRacing i have to say that imho lfs one is no more the best.
iRacing FF make the car feels much more realistic because it let the driver feels all the bumps located on track surface.
For the other things, it is pratically the same lfs FF one.
Feeling ALL the bumps increase a lot the "sense of driving a racing car", its feels quite "scary" at start, but it is a lot more fun after a bit of driving.
Actually lfs let feels only the biggest bumps on tracks, all the little ones are pratically uneffective on FF, even if can be clearly seen through suspension movements.
In my opinion lfs FF should let feel all the bumps like iR FF is actually doing
Driving LFS after iRacing seems like driving a car on a bowling pavement, it feels really flat. :/
P.S: i am using a G25, and i have used a DFP too, so it's not a problem with crappy steering wheels
Wanna quote a post that contain some nice suggestions, just for not letting you forgot them
If I might add some suggestions - this would be so great for leagues if you could get sort of "admin rights per car" or, "engineer rights" if you will and remotely access a car's strategy and change it provided you have a password for it. Obviously this will also require LFS updates but it would add a lot to league racing.
This spring i went to a Wolkwagen car test track day at Vallelunga Track (near Rome).
During the laps i did on the GTI i spoke with the real pilot (there was one onboard of all cars, because after the laps of the guests they showed how to drive it well ) that was on the passenger seat, and obviously we spoke about cars.
He had raced in touring cars (fwd and rwd) and F3000 cars. In that period i was racing with ufr and xfr in the CILFS, so i asked him about fwd race car diffs, and he said that they used to use high diff locks, like 70/80/90%, and when i said him that with lfs we usually use locked diffs with fwd, he answered that in theory, with a rigid chassis, it can be used in real life too.
LFS, from what i know, does not simulate chassis flexibility, so the need of locked diffs on fwd fast driving seems logical to me, it's not far from reality.
Different matter for Rwd locked, imho there is some tyre slipangle problem there, the same that cause pratically an "always perfect" start with manual or autoclutch if u start with full throttle on cars like fbm and fox
90 degree of fov imho is not real, 60/65 is realistic, 90 is like watching into a binocular from the wrong side
However, apart of that, since X10 there is already the possibility of locking cockpit view (any fov value is allowed) server side, so, what's the matter?
In hotlap charts it still show the colums "autoblip" and "autocut", even if now these are no more available.
It would be useful to see in these colums which type of gearbox are the users using - automatic, sequential or full manual - and if users are using clutch assigned to a button or an axis
Why can't teams have the same initials? Sonic Realms and Storm Racing seem to get along fine.
I didn't said that teams can't have same initials, they can have (if none of them registered it as a trademark lol), but if it is possible to avoid that, is better, because it can cause confusion.
It is not hard to check lfsworld team list before opening a forum or registrating a domain imho
