actually i need help on setting the axis on XBCD

i have the triggers set as such
LT= Z-
RT= RZ-

the LT is set as brake
the RT is set as throttle

the throttle works fine, the pedal is perfectly matched to the RT
the brake goes from half depressed to floored...
half depressed= trigger not pressed
floored= trigger fully depressed

can anyone help me with this?

i downloaded the profile from (separate triggers)

...man... this feels like programming all over again... you fix one thing, another goes wrong...

EDIT:nevermind, fixed it!

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Although it's pretty stupid...
If you turn to the outside of the corner, then quickly turn in, and then apply too much ****ing throttle, you slide...

NO WAI!!!

you know you just end up doing a doughnut at the edge of the track if you do that, right?

Quote from mrodgers :Wonderful example of the mentality of the "majority" drifting community. I say that all videos do is show how a car is capable of sliding and shows nothing about how difficult it is to drift.

From that simple statement, it becomes that I don't know how hard it is because I've never done it, I talk shit about it, and I've been challenged to go against the top LFS drifters. It seems that I also think that I'm an awesome racer because I make a comment about people showing videos of cars sliding to prove how difficult it is to drift.

In reality, what I am truly failing at is, following the logic of the statement I just quoted up there which is a response to the fact that videos don't show the difficulty of drifting.

actually... a good example of a vid that shows behind the scenes of drifting is... drift bible...kinda

Quote from shadow2kx :Where can i download it atlantian? I asked google but he told me something about life 1.0 wich i can't find anywhere

oh, yeah, forgot to mention, you are restricted to tracks that are in your local vicinity, it downloads pretty fast, depending on your situation... if you have the car you want... then just go into ur garage and drive to the local track.

just forward the echeck payment to:

my point is that rice is a derogatory term for a "poser's car"... which is totally non-applicable to track cars...

Quote from tristancliffe :I don't know, what did 'we' say about time attack and track cars?

they are not rice, they are race cars, they may not be specialty built race cars... look at rally cars.. they are modded street cars...

Quote from JeffR :In ice dancing, there is a pair of skaters, no jumping allowed, no lifts above the waist, no seperation of skaters (except for a few seconds). In the compulsory rounds, all pairs do the exact same ice dance routine to the exact same song. It's amazing that the judges don't go insane from the repetition. It's the equivalent of ballroom dancing, but on ice. Imagine watching and hearing this this 32 times in a row:

meh, still requires more coordination then ice speed skating

Quote from tristancliffe :Photos. Videos. Proof. Because, frankly, I don't believe you.

a) in retrospect... if i had messed up that time, i wouldn't be here
b) it's illegal(i can always censor my plates...)
c) it's hard on my car... not that i care, since the ES is falling apart anyways

Quote from tristancliffe :Rice - Any cosmetic or performance related modification done to a [primarily] road car with the intention of making it look and/or be one or more of the following:

Sporty
Aggressive
Cool
Fast
Pimped
Eye-catching
And more!!!

It matters not if they are successful (unlikley) or not, or on the type/model/origin of the car. Supras, Ferraris, BMWs, Civics and Citroens are all fair game.

It is a piss-take from RACE modifications, and has nothing whatsoever to do with rice, the burning of rice, or anything especially Japanese.

Whilst every country suffers from ricers (usually people from the very low end of the IQ range - the sort of people who doesn't read because they can't or because 'it isn't cool'), most ricers don't actually realise they are ricers, and come up with all sorts of defences.

A riced car can, under certain circumstances (i.e. motorsport competition), become a race car, but it will usually be a low slower and stupider than a properly prepared race car.

hey, hey, hey, what did we say about time attack and track cars?!?!

Quote from JeffR :As long as it's "vaporware" and not released yet, iRacing can claim their sim to be is the best. It will be the most expensive racing game ever (monthly + component fees).

Also Todd Wasson's work in progress experiment could be a candidate for best sim ever, but there's only one player who plays it (Todd Wasson).

how about i release the most expensive and realistic "sim" yet?

i have 2 tracks, you can have any car you want, but you have to buy the car yourself, pay for the gas, tires, and damages on your vehicle!!! but you need to drive between tracks if you want to change tracks...

but the bonus is that... it's so realistic that you can FEEL the damage!

Quote from JeffR :Bad analogy. Drifting would be more like ice dancing or curling in the olympics. It should be up there with other popular sports, like ball room dancing, croquet, lawn bowling, shuffleboard, ...

A lot of us have their niche activities. Being in the USA, I've played the usual basketball, football, and some baseball, mostly before graduating highschool. I've driven motorcycles since I was 14 years old (56 years old now). I also have been involved in some "niche" activities: trampoline, flying rings (example video, I could only do double flips, not a quadruple like this guy quad.wmv), and table tennis. I'm still drive a motorycle (Hayabusa), and I fly radio control gliders at a local slope site (jr126.wmv) and at a flat field using a high start (jrartms.wmv)

i thought that figure skating WAS ice dancing, but that's all good, cuz, they both require skills...

Quote from ajp71 :I imagine it's very simple. It does have modeling of oil and water temperatures and pressure and doesn't take abuse like the LFS model will still happily do. I don't think there's any sim that can really claim to have done anything other than a torque curve generated by a look up table or generic maths function though as you can get away with it pretty convincingly.

Quote from ajp71 :GPL is far simpler than LFS, it just does everything so much better than the majority of the competition. IIRC there were only about 125 variables changed for the '65 cars, simulating very different cars to the '67 cars. In rF you have that many variables for each part of the car, most people don't know what they do or what they need to be set to, including ISI. The result is a far simpler simulation with less stuff stuck onto it but the core very well refined. LFS has taken this philosophy as well, I'm sure if we had the extra bolt on features that have been added to the SCGT engine over the years then we wouldn't have the basics right.

what about the engine simulation of GPL

the second one... WHO THE HELL MOUNTS THEIR LICENSE PLATE CROOKED?!?!? and the whole car looks like a child's toy...

actually, would you guys say GPL is better or LFS is better? GPL seems more complex then LFS, but there is just a slight problem with the traction modeling...
