whow, there, what did he say?

unlike whatever you believe in,Adulterated... computer technology improves linearly there is no such thing as a negative slope on that graph... because the best would only get better...

Quote from adulterated :Exactly popularity dosen't mean jack it's all about the driving model.

For those that think Race Drivin and F355 Challenge are not good physics models you probably couldn't drive the damn thing let alone drive hard in real life.

so once again, give us some solid data, either from a reviewer or from the devs...

Quote from Hyperactive :More info about the iracing sim in the newest Autosimsports

Looks that the initial product is nothing more than a "large demo". Basically XRG, LX4 and XRR for ovals. And few tracks of which half are ovals.

Even if the physics are great they surely are not giving anything for free. The price is imho not too much as is but what you get for the money... Dull cars. I guess it just means that an extra 20$ will be reserved to get at least one or two proper cars to test it properly which already makes it 40$ for just the first/last month

man... that is some ****ing bullshit... we where saying..."if it's 100 a year then it better be good" and it turns out to be a half assed, half completed game...

Being banned from life because you suck at it?

it would be like being executed for committing treason...

oh... what about the arcade machines that polyphony digital placed in their Dev center lobby to exhibit the new GT5? those seem fun, doesn't it, adulterated?

Quote from Ikaponthus :March Hare,

Mate, I am with you. I feel your pain.

I've asked countless times what's the point of drifting, and so far the best I've got is "fun", and "to see how sideways you can go".

well if you ask anyone why they race... it's because it's fun, and they want to see how fast they can go...

and as for practicality...it's simple, you want to get through the track as fast as possible, when you drift, you want to show how much car control you have driving the car past the limit... you are just a bigot, and we all are to some degree, we don't approve of certain things... like how i hate oval racing and croc's...

Quote from wien :Huh, I seem to remember you saying Race Drivin' also was one of the best simulators on any system. In fact, here's a quote of you quoting yourself making that very statement:

but the thing is... PC's have the best sims...

Too bad these devs aren't working for an amusement machine developer.

i bet he is, and so is anyone else

Quote from davejah :Sorry but i totally disagree with this one
-you ask for a tuned car which is not a drifter (which automatically makes it a ricer.)
Would you say tuned cars that made for time attack which is very populair in Japan are ricers? Look at this video. They have all the "OMG LEET WIDEBODYKITZORZ" and they are seriously tuned cars with a lot of engine work, body work etc and u say those cars are rice? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHrpzJQaQ2c

errrm... you don't need to give him a dignified answer... it's true.. the thread is asking for an "amature" built race car... or a race car based upon the hardware of a production car... but if we have tools to make our own in LFS... then we can not only learn to drive, but also how to make an awsome setup...

btw, monkeyman is awsome!

[sacrasm]adulterated, i am on a quest for the holy grail of sim racing... can you lead me to my gold?[/sacrasm]

and would you mind having reviews, screenshots, or data analysis about the best sim game ever made?

Quote from AndroidXP :The NFS option is funny because it is ironic. GT is close enough to being semi-realistic that many morons actually believe it can be called a simulator, which is why it's not included.

i see, then... a good majority of car nuts out there are n00bs?
i am guessing yes...

well i mean, cmon, this IS the 21st century... i think that our advances in mathematics is enough to simulate tire physics...

Quote from frokki :Apart from the looks (spoilers, bodykits, wheels) maybe wider steering lock, different tire profiles and compounds, a rollcage...

btw, the bigger rims are to reduce side wall and tire flex... the cage is a safety measure

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Yes, everyone rallys becuase people died... Do people also practice suicide because others have killed themselves too?

i said death because it's exciting to ESCAPE death... if there where no chance of death then extreme sports would be pointless...

and what about the flimsy plastic panels?
and you should make the pedals out of higher quality stuff, like aluminum alloy, and make the pedals heavier, and the break travel more...

and have the shifter boot be leather. and have the shifter have a desk clamp

Quote from shiny_red_cobra :If real life were like LFS then we wouldn't need a racing simulator.

/end thread

errrm... i think you got it backwards...

but we don't need racing simulators...the physics in real life is already perfect...

oh, i get it, you can't die, and you can repair your car in a couple of keystrokes...gotcha... but then that would make motorsports not really as popular as it is... especially rallying, since noone will have died in group b rallies in the 80's and rallying would be nowhere today...

Quote from Hankstar :It's not a question of difficulty. It's a question of desire. What you should be asking is: do the devs WANT a tune tool in their game? If they don't (and so far it looks like they don't), deal with it I sincerely hope they never do: put a tuning tool in LFS and it instantly becomes like every other ricer NFS piece of shit game out there.

i am asking for a performance tune, not an aesthetic "tune". if putting a tuning tool makes a game into a ricer game then why is LFS still a racing game despite the presence of a suspension tuner? people can pimp or rice their cars out by raising or lowering their cars to a ridiculous degree... don't even start on using "rice" as an excuse...

okey, so they kept out engine tuning as a measure to keep playing grounds level. well, here's a proposal: how about setting tuning boundaries on servers and competitions...like IRL:rally_dri *hint**hint*
