i am just wondering... what are the advantages of a rearmounted transaxle on an FR or AWD car?
so far, what i know is that you get better weight distribution...
are there any other advantages over an "imidiate mount" transmission? because it seems like it would be a disadvantage when you are trying to repair your car... since everything is bundled up very neatly...
how about this... in offline play, it would kind of be like a "danger room" from x men, where you can shit your car however you like and you would be able to repair it.
the damage would only be in real races... where you would have "saved stats"... but the devs would have to add some kind of encryption on the stats so that people don't cheat...
and i think "repairs" would be a type of currency, like a clutch costs 1 repair, 1 shock costs 3 repairs... ect...
and @ Bandit, hate to break it to you, but NFS:PS does have this system, your damages stick with you... that's why you see ziptie'd up FD3S's in the trailers...
btw, i would think that AWD "fad" drift cars are restricted to top level competitors, since, why the hell would you pull apart a perfectly amazing[-ly expensive] sports car if you are "just a guy"?
i have a rally setup with road tires, it's very very sideways friendly!
just follow a more aggressive line then usual(think:go wide, and tuck in) then usual and the end will come out, and you will be automatically balanced out in a very long neutralsteer, the faster the entry, the better the drift will be.
well, does my post sum everything up? btw, GT5 just has the hand go to the shifter when it's a probable shift point, so like, you go below 3k, hand on, you go above 6.5k, hand on. you can just randomly shift around, but the glitch doesn't matter.
