i also have this kind of problems but i believe its my isp or my lan config messing up, connecting straight to the modem last year was fine, lan connection just randomly goes away for a second or so and im booted from lfs.
other games may use "canned" FF effects but in this forum i think everyone knows how LFS does it, and why its the best out there IMO. anyway for 1000$ even if you are rich thats a waste of money...i could build my own cockpit with that and get some decent pedals a nice seat and maybe a shifter. i dunno much about these high priced wheels but i bet its alot better to get something like a dfp or momo and use custom pedals like frexx or brd, check over at RSC they have forums for each brand here

ouch, the crash sounds in lfs sound so bad it hurts my ears, get some more stunts and do a nice stunt vid 
im pretty sure this was taken into account when eric built it, and im pretty sure that there would be a curb there if it was suposed to.
haha i still go for the keyboard sometimes but then i remember i dont need to anymore.

there is no way you can jerk your wheel left and right with 10fps and call it playable.
post your system specs pls also make sure you have latest drivers and directx installed.
Chab - Dub, Edits and Whiskey-Coke also some Amon tobim.
clean with small samurize config for music and covers.
Maybe the pots need some cleaning...

not that happy here, lfs kinda lost its charm after so much time playing it, i wish something new happened but its a slow progress project and a long to do list.
