you missed the part that says same car and track 24/7, ctra is ok sometimes but hardly any fun.
@gentle yes i have been in your server, good effort and a nice mix of cars.
having a look at the server list and i cant find a server that i want to go, its always Caribbean Cruise, city driving, a bunch of drift servers, the redline and conedodgers always in the same car and in the same track, and the ctra thing with people fighting for points. i have nothing against these servers and not everyone likes to race, i can understand that, but its unfortunate and everytime i fire up lfs and look at the serverlist i just loose any will i had left after playing it for such a long time.
theres alot more to say but id like to keep it simple without offending any of the people who generously run servers, without them we'd be nothing.
shotglass those colours come from the theme which is being used, you can make it look like whatever you want, and no it doesnt take ages, take a look at http://gnome-look.org, i agree the pic might have some weird colours but hey its what shakes his boat...ill post a pic of my desktop so you can judge mine
@robt: you are not supposed to use both at the same time, either use the usb cable or use the ethernet port, usb means drivers have to be installed (in windows world), ethernet is plug and play.
the good thing is you can change everything in the OS, if its ugly to you then get on the net and dl icons, themes and whatnot.
as for indexing i use tracker, and if beagle is ugly take a look at this, its tracker running with the newly developed affinity app. most people use beagle in the deskbar, like this
@robt: a cable modem connected with the ethernet card shouldnt need to be configured as it just uses dhcp and your up and running, if your modem doesnt have a ethernet port then usb is unknown to me but i hear there are some scripts to help with specific modems as the software is usually made for windows.
to write to ntfs drives you can apt-get install ntfs-3g (in ubuntu) then change /etc/fstab from ntfs to ntfs-3g, theres also a little app that does this for you, just apt-get install ntfs-config.
tough call but in regard to using gt1 cars restricted theres no way to restrict tyre width atm like in jgtc for example, gt500 use 359mm and gt300 use 305mm maximum respectively, maybe make a suggestion improvement in the apropriate forum.
good advice, just dont forget that you can screw all of the fans by doing this, you must jam them in place with your finger or make sure they dont rotate in the wrong direction.
TC:elite is cool yeah but as someone said its too easy to get spawn killed, and from the short time i played it i didnt like the maps, it looks alot better than ET but some players ruin the game.
ive seen that a few times even before w17, it only seems to happen to very laggy people, atleast from what ive seen online a few times, thing is i dont think eckh was lagging was he?
from what i read you have to destroy a logitech force to get the momo working in the ps2, and you need to swap chips between pcb's, couple of momo buttons wont work, rewire the whole thing + pedals and for that kind of trouble why not get a dfp from ebay?
its quite common in race cars and most of the time the clutch isnt even used. it isnt very realistic but for me i just like to hear the engines scream on the upshifts, reminds me of the 50cc motorcycles i used to drive in my teen years
mine is about 10 yrs old so it has suffered alot and i still like it compared to other wheels i tried, im gonna try and fix it myself, either a new spring or weld the pieces together, i just hope i wont destroy the thing in anger.
one pic that might have been rendered tells me nothing, and judging by their games i wont bet much on it. i hope im wrong but ive yet to see something really good come out of there.
