question about sound
we all know by now that the sound is generated by lfs, my question is if the sound is being processed by the cpu, the sound card or both :P disabling sound with shift+n gives a wooping fps boost but with obvious downsides

i had a similar problem but it wasnt related to the usb port as yours seems to be, lfs would randomly crash, screen frozen, sound looping and after a minute or so monitor would power off and after another minute and alot of 3 finger saluts a bsod would appear pointing to the nvidia drivers. now the nvidia drivers dont solve nothing, i tried all sorts of drivers. what i see here is that you have the same chipset manufacturer as me, SIS, which in my opinion is crap, no matter what chip nº it is.
i found that with hvs off in lfs i could play fine but with huge fps loss wich is no option.
for me the write combine box in windows display properties did it. this is supposed to speed up the pci or agp transfers(i dunno how). with the box checked i can play every game without any problem EXCEPT LFS, if i wanna play lfs i remove the check, reboot and there i go. there is a fps loss with the option off but i guess ill have to live with it until i get a decent mobo.

hehe windows+micrsoft wheel no worky? is it the gameport or usb version?
why dont you try to blow some compressed air in it 
there are no drivers for this wheel in xp i just followed the add new hardware wizard in the cp.
well i have a gameport version aswell and it works fine under xp, it is strange that you are getting such errors, maybe the pci gameport might help, ive heard soundblaster gameports dont always work well with ms ff, other than that i dunno, have you calibrated the wheel in windows and in lfs»?
yeah i'd like to see an fx-57 or close in one of those starts inside the cockpit.
well i didnt want to see this turned into a technical assistance thread, i know i can turn off the driver and wheel, the thing is it only saves 1-2 fps at max, and as there is a big difference from wheel view to cockpit(20-25 to 50-60) i'd like to see somekind of option, it might never happen i know, but you can ask right.
i dunno maybe they are a bit low res but the difference is so big in other views

i'd like to see such an option because you loose alot of fps on the cockpit.
the Gamepassword is configured by logging into www.liveforspeed.net, click account details and there you can change the game password.
also licenses payed for with paypal will take a bit longer to process, just until victor clears it.

the problem there is your cpu. you can upgrade it or try to change gfx options in lfs, specially LOD sliders.
take out the "swingman" arcade view, that should keep the less mature from playing imo.
