beryl is true 3d desktop, this is just 4 virtual desktops wraped around a cube, i can understand that you like it and the eye candy, but you cannot see how badly this is done until you have tried the real thing, vista's aero thingy doesnt even come near beryl, this is cool yeah but its a ripped off idea from an open source program and its not that well executed. i can understand people wanting to have these things in windows but how about you try the real thing? you can try it on a livecd with no install required, nowadays i only use windows for lfs and cod2, they both work with wine but we all know its not the same thing.
i use beryl on my linux OS and this doesnt even come near that.

what bothers ME is seeing demo racers here with registration dates from 2005 and such.
i would simply change ISP, have you checked if the traffic shaping was mentioned in your initial contract?

i might be wrong but you should be looking at the 12v line amps instead of the wattage of the psu, most of the cheap psu's dont have more than 10-15 amps on the 12v wich isnt enough for a powerfull card AND the rest of your pc, if its running fine and there are no bsod or random resets then its doing its job. personally i have a 450w psu but with two separate 12v lines, one powers the gfx card and the other for hdd's, cd's and a mobo connector. each line has 18amps.
an infamous hacker round here(now banned) made a program to do just that and thats what led to sets being encrypted. is this intended to be part of lfs or just a collection of setups for whoever wants to download them? im all for having easy setups for the newcomers and especialy having a setup for track/car combo by default in lfs but thats a huge task and with physics patches coming it would be scraped each time theres a incompatible patch. of course we could always supply a bunch of sets by default or send it to scawen for him to include in the game but i think people will always want to try the faster guys setup no?
M$ sidewinder wheel (gameport), no configuration in windows xp thanks to microsofts non-existant support for their own hardware, in lfs i use from 30 to 50% depending on car/setup/track.

hit the "2" key after you have driven and put the replay here for us to see.i agree with kev here, the way to join a team is to hang around them and to be a clean guy, there are some good clean races sometimes but they can be hard to find, after a while you get to know who is clean and who isnt aswell as wich servers to go to get some fun online.
that happens when you can't reach the masterserver, that can happen if it is down (wich is rare) or if your connection is having problems, stop all forms of downloads (p2p, torrents, mules...), it can be an isp problem or maybe spyware or viruses, best advise is check your pc to see if anything else is using the internet, if its all ok on your side then probably your isp has problems, the masterserver is quite reliable and only goes down for minutes if scawen updates something.

heck ill be there if the server says f08 .well in the server list make sure you try a server with a low ping, anything below 100 will be ok, but that error happens when there is alot of traffic on your internet connection so stop msn, icq and filesharing like emule or torrents, if you have none you can have virus or spyware problem in your pc or it can be a problem with your connection, how fast is your connection? maybe try and talk to you isp if everything else fails.

ok i missed that assumption but i seem to have also missed the part where scawen said v3 would be incompatible, cant bother to search it also im sure someone will correct me on that, but anyway arent the incompatible bits tested by the beta crew? or were going back to testing incompatible stuff (not that i dont like testing stuff )? i mean lfs has been stalled in development even though the guys do work behind the curtains, its been a few years in alpha stage and any kind of development would have to be something big to get most of the inactive people running again. oh no now ive hijacked it and turned it into a lfs isnt going anywhere soon thread again. sorry.

the simple fact that gameports are UNSUPORTED in vista... that and the fact that linux desktop has more usability than ever makes me want to ditch microsoft for once, if only force feedback worked in linux.
