I've been in a few takeaway cars and they smell disgusting, a few of my mates used to do it aswell and they eventually stopped because of how bad it made their car smell.
Yea, I don't mean for all cars, I just mean in general some people have had problems with them (rough idleing etc) and yea, remaps i've saw are about 250-350, which if you've got a gttdi 150 then it's gunna be worth it.
All this talk about cars, turbos and re maps has got me annoyed that I went back to college, coz now i'm stuck with the 75bhp turdwagon.
From what I can see the tuning box has the same effect as the remap, but less stable.
Regardless, I wouldn't waste any of your money doing the things you would like to, especcially if your gunna be delivering takeaway food, the cars gunna smell like a busted onion.
Re mapping non turbo cars is pretty pointless when you consider how much it costs to remap your car to how much gain you get from it.
Remapping a 1.4 16v golf adds about 4bhp. Full stainless steel exhaust system and induction kit (this guy spent about 500 euros on this) and it added 6bhp. So yea, I doubt the 1.6 is gunna be much differnt.
Who cares what it sends his premium, spending all that money on a car worth under 1500 quid is like buying a chocolate teapot.
Oh yea, forgot to add, remapping a 1.9tdi golf adds about 40bhp, so it's no wonder that the audi feels a lot faster, because it really only benefits turbo cars.
Sure it's not allways true, but if your buying such a car cheap then you have to wonder why it's so cheap, older cars are allwasy going to give you some bother.
As for paying your insurance monthly, bad idea, a quote of say £1700 will come out at 2k or more, when I got my quote of £700 from elephant if I payed it monthly it ended up at £1150.
I saw some advice on here, take out the lowest interest credit card you can find, pay the insurance with that and then pay money to that every month, it will end up far cheaper than doing it through the insurance company. There's also those cashback websites, who refund you money if you buy your insurance through them. (Up to £100 iirc) Though i've never used them before, lots of people have and it seems to work.
I still think a 316 under a grand is just gunna cost you money with parts etc, but I hope i'm wrong.
Polos are good as long as it isn't the 1.4 16v because they are group 10 insurance which is facking loads for such a small car.
A 316 for under a grand is probarly gunna cost you more on the repair bill, as is any "decent" car you can get cheap.
You obviously have the money for the insurance so why don't you go for say a small 2k car and half the insurance of some BMW? Atleast with a newer car your not gunna worry about reliability, or the expensive road tax, or the tyres, or the fuel.....well, not as much anyhow.
I like the Z3M but yea I kinda agree, the only reason i'm posting is because I had one right up my ass last night while travelling on the motorway (Been like 30 degrees 4 days in a row now, so everyone has their roofs down!) regardless of me being stuck behind cars ahead, he felt the need sit right on my bumper, so I held on my screen washers for about 20 seconds, he soon dropped back.
Was at the Falkirk v Rangers game today, my arm and side of my neck is sunburnt because of the driving Lucky enough we were in the shade for the game and it was still toasting....
We complain when it's too cold, then when it's too hot.
That was a fun race for us, me especcially when having to go from nearly last back up to 4th, this was also our first taste of a proper MoE race, being very close to the top guys pace showed us that we could to be leading races...
What is Rudy saying about this? He joined SR for a "new challenge" and to "help develop a team" which is a great thing to do, but now the rest of the team has joined it's no longer developing a new team.
I hope it's a joke, Rambo IMO was one of the best drivers in first and to see him go to drifting now would just sack.
Generally I feel the same as you about games like this, but I played the latest Call of duty and didn't enjoy it to much, but Modern Warfare 1 was just epic.
Wern't you and that other guy arguing about how many people died? One said 8, other said 10 and erm, since when is it ok for people to get catapulted into the air by a car just because none of them died?
