I'm sorry, when somebody disconnects somewhere in the field, I usually don't have the time to check which lap he was in since he's already gone! Teamspeak won't help me with this task, unless it has some sort of time travel mechanism built into it that I don't know about... And if you're suggesting I keep tabs on every car in the field every lap, then I'd like to talk to someone else with a little bit of common sense...
It would be good if the participating teams got access to it at the very least... How else would we be able to tell whether we're racing someone (reconnected) or not?
This whole wall of text and it's completely useless... The only thing that matters: how much more expensive is it to do it their way? That truely makes or brakes the car, not what they chopped up to make it...
Yes, only official races in your licence class (or upper) count towards your MPR... Also, I've heard no races in the 13th week will count towards your MPR, you can only boost your Safety Rating...
Well, it's more realistic than LfS' model, but it's still flawed: too much damage dealt at low speeds, and still not enough at really big impacts (due mostly to no tyres falling off and no aero-affecting damage)...
To be brutally honest, the negative athmosphere in the forums is pretty obvious to see, you don't even need one day to experience that... Throw in quite chaotic rookie races with tempers rising and you can imagine how he got to this conclusion...
Everyone stop that nonsense with "anyone" and "it's a no-blame-system"... You even said it yourself in the second part, it's the complete opposite: it's everyone and a blame-all-system! If it would be no-blame, nobody would get incident points...
I find the SR system so very wrong, it actually prevents good, close racing because you always have to fear a 4x contact if you slightly bump into each other... It would have been perfect to have the SR only in Gran Turismo-like licence tests - pass those and you are allowed to race the car in the season... If someone misbehaves, there's still protests...
Welcome, and yes, replay saving is no problem regardless of licence status - it just has to be activated in Options -> Game: if you set it to "enabled - manual saving", just hit "2" (before a session ends) and give the replay a name... You can also set that LfS automatically saves the replay at the end of each session for both single and multiplayer...
I would recommend downloading the latest patch, some cars might handle differently, so you won't learn habits you can't use when you update... As for the wheel: it looks promising, nobody got it yet though as the very first batch will arrive with customers only as early as the end of May...
Not to slow your enthusiasm, but a bit of a warning: due to your timezone it might be hard to find a race server that runs S1 content... Peak times are euro prime time and the big majoritiy of the userbase already upgraded to S2... Therefore be prepared to search a bit longer - though it's really worth the hassle when you DO find a good server!
It might also be worth looking into leagues even though you may not be up to speed - as long as you're not inconsiderate when lapped I'm sure nobody will mind...
I know it's more semantics than anything else, but that's more due to shorter spring lenght etc. than rake angle really... Rake angle is just a result of your suspension settings, not the other way round - in itself it is pretty meaningless...
Don't worry, we'll see the comeback of tyre ovens (unless they're explicitly forbidden) and teams will bring them out JUST before the car enters pit spot... It might make for more Ferrari-like moments where a team just forgets to bring a tyre (in time)...
None, although there is the possibility to overpower the preload... I'm just not sure how helpful an opening diff is when you're already spinning (quite wildly at that)...
In testing I've fiddled with the defaults - just getting the rake right (don't know why they're all squatting) makes a big improvement on turning already...
Just so you are informed too (since none of the posts above contained any information whatsoever):
The graphics engine LfS uses needs a properly layed out path, it just can't cope with multiple different paths at once (yet)... Big open spaces like the Autocross Area are a borderline workaround already... Scawen would have to rewrite the whole engine for your suggestion to happen, which would probably need years, so that's highly unlikely...
And real makes require costly licences, which given the nature of three developers without any backing investors is just not affordable (not even going into the hoops manufacturers like Ferrari and Porsche let applicants jump through to be granted the holy licence)...
Anyway, welcome to the forums! Don't let the bashing get to you, your suggestion albeit a repeat is way better than the usual "I want car xy" or "why no Nordschleife"...
