I'd say Opera is still the daddy concerning speed... It's blazingly quick (set it to immidiate page display and increase the number of connections if your bandwith can handle it and the page really is there in an instant) and it doesn't have FF's sluggishness to user input...
Completely agree, the pages are now loading faster, but it's just painstakingly slow at reacting to user input... Also, I really miss middle-clicking on the tab-bar to open a new tab and I find the icon-/address-bar being below the tab-bar just makes more sense for tabbed browsing than the conventional layout of FF...
No need, it seems a new fad to complain about LfS on the iRacing forum, I'll just rant there...
Seriously, nobody in his right mind here would disagree when you say the development speed is (too) slow... However, once you start with development has stalled or you demand Scavier accepting your business strategy people will challenge your post, and rightly so...
iRacing say they have 12000 members, I guess about half (or more) of them with a frozen account... Wouldn't you agree that getting those 6000 back and holding them would be easier (and cheaper) than to attract thousands more for a quarter or less? Especially bearing in mind that those 6000 have already shown interest and intention of driving in iRacing...
They might not be experts, but a helping hand is a helping hand nonetheless...
I said that (not as explicitly, but still) in a thread about why people don't subscribe(!) and got told off to be able to "hold off until I think there's enough features implemented" to make my monies worth... iRacing certainly isn't lacking fanboyism...
I heard on the iRacing forums that Chris is designing a new version of the Obutto... I hope/expect him to get the measurements down to a level where euro parcel delivery companies will finally take the packages...
Claim intellectual property on the video shot with your own camera? Unless you signed a paper or there is licencing text on the back of the ticket it is your property...
You just added to my statement rather than contradicting it, refuting yours yourself in the process... I can't see a discussion unfolding on you coming around and agreeing with me, so no...
Actually, no... You're even wasting it, as the amount of energy coming from the fuel that previously propelled you along is now turned into useless heat in the brakes...
Only question is how much were the other teams sandbagging... I suspect the RBs were flat out to test if their upgrades work as expected, but you usually keep your cards close on Friday...
GTR:Evo claims to have the most authentic version... Comparing it to videos (never driven the real thing), I would agree although some things still seem off...
You don't seem to understand - Heel & Toe is just a technique to prevent locking up the tyres under braking... The effect on your laptimes will in best case be minimal - your line and how soon you can put the power down (and subsequently hold that speed difference down the whole straight) will affect your times so much more... I'm not saying it's completely unimportant, just that it won't make you as fast as you hope it to...
Just think about that: even in South City, a very twisty circuit, you're on the brakes maybe 20 %, you should never be off both pedals, that leaves 80 % of the track applying the throttle - where do you think lies more potential?
Scawen said that he can do a basic aero model based on the actual shape (state) of the car... However far he has progressed with that and if it's even featured in the near future we can only speculate...
Anyway, as most other physical objects on the track I suspect broken off parts won't stay around for long - I'm guessing they'll be removed as fast as cones or tyres are reset...
Not entirely true... Even in the best possible case a car would be thrown back onto the track which is also inacceptable...
I don't see why the walls have to be placed right on the edge of the track in the first place, you clearly see if there is a wreck there is no room to slow the car down before hitting something hard...
Radio Le Mans is almost as bad as the Eurosport commentators... Discussing about how a F1-driver is used to 3 half-hour stints and so on... Are they forgetting Wurz started in Sports Car racing before changing to F1? And on that basis, Kristensen would be used to 3 10-minute-sprints... :banghead:
I think you once again saw what was pretty apparent in Monaco - the Red Bull seems to have an incredible aero package, but it just doesn't have the mechanical grip that makes the Brawns so superior...
The problem with all the fuss right now is: it's much easier to just say something sucks than to come up with something workable oneself... I bet as soon as a breakaway is final they'll all go into cut-throat-mode to try to get rules fitting their team best, ultimately failing because they can't find anything they can agree on...
Other than allegedly the Eurosport Player (which you have to pay for), I haven't found anything that broadcasts all 24h... Everybody seem to just make hourly summaries with a longer bit at start/finish...
