I think that one thing LFS needs, is more tracks. The game itself is still undergoing development which is good, but the tracks are still the same for a loooong time already. I'm with LFS for over 3 years and I know all the tracks inside out and there is nothing that can surprise me. The thrill of new tracks when S2 came out was great, but that has already passed away...
Some of you may argue that I (and almost everyone) haven't driven all the combos, but name me a combo and in 2-3 hours of practice I'm within 1 sec of the WR and even past the WR on the not so used combos, because when you know a track, getting used to another car is easy, driving the reversed config, you also know (or at least have a very good guess) where the next turn will be...
Totally new tracks would be the "cure" for this.
It would be nice if Eric would only work on LFS and make new tracks, but i think that this is not possible, because he does not work only for LFS. So how to work around this?
I thought of several ways>
1. Open LFS for track modding
+ Many new tracks each day(week)
- a lot of low quality ones
- for online racing you would have to find/download the exact track the server uses, time-consuming, frustrating if you can't find the right version
2. Keep LFS closed for modding, do a track contest each month and get the best 5 into LFS
+ only hiquality models would make it into LFS
+ track update files in one place, easy to find
- organisators and rules of the contest would be needed
the devs would only need to say the format in which to submit new tracks
3. Keep LFS closed for modding, hire track modelers
+ only hiquality models would make it into LFS
+ track update files in one place, easy to find
- LFS devs would need to pay those modelers
i really don't need this, but for some it could be useful... i use instant look, 90 degrees FOV so the only blindspots are in the places where the body of the car blocks the view...
if there would be such a feature, it would be a risk that demo people could find a way around to use it too... and moving the feature from S2 licensed only to everybody... imo not good...
yup driving in last gear slowly will get your consumption very low... it will take very long to drive the most laps... we once had a "consumption" race, but to leave in some thrills, the driver who was last on every 10th lap was dropped out...
I have a Logi Momo for 2.5 years now. The wheel is still ok, but I had to replace the pedals (with ECCI), since I had the first version, which gave up its ghost after racing over 50.000 km online (after 1.5 years). But because it has a plastic "bearing" i don't think it will last... I will go for the DFP after the Momo dies...
a lot of people upload hotlaps only because of leagues (including me)... if you have more than 20 drivers, there aren't many other ways to divide them onto servers...
so i have not voted in the poll, because this option is not there...
everybody who stays in the race for 75% of the finish-time of the leader gets points in our league, but he will get only point for the last position...
I have all the replays from the event here, its division 2 (Divize 2), but i don't know which race (will try to find out) (first two replays are: qualifying and qualifying race), driver's lfsnick: ThorR
well "no mid-race join" would have solved this in my case, but i don't want to enforce this, the only thing we need is people who THINK before they enter the track and who THINK while driving and i mean everybody...
one remark: I do agree that if a person in the race is lapped then he does not have to jump off the track, but if the person joined on lap 3 out of 5, then he should...
It happened to me few days ago, that we were having a great race for the 1. place, I was about 0.8s behind the leader and was gaining on him (reverse startgrid), and then on the 3rd lap when we are in the middle of the track (we1r) someone joins, goes his pace and then just approaching the "no-look fast chicane" this guy lets the leader pass and then enters the chicane, driving slowly, blocking me off and effectively ending the race for me
Then after the race i asked the guy for an apology and he didn't even care > one nice kick for him...
to bump this bug, it happened yesterday to one of the drivers in the Czech LFS League... he was in the pits when the race leader finished the race and "bing" he was spectating the race, with the message "xxxxxx did not finish" flashing on the screen... Pretty annoying way to lose points in a league...
approaching a corner you hit your brakes and then when starting to turn in, you slowly (gradually) let off the brakes. not "no braking" at once and coasting to the apex, but smoothly letting the brake go, all the way to the apex...
have you read what i wrote in my 2nd post? that i know this?
am i not speaking english or what?
i wrote that i don't need this, that there are other people, who don't know anything about a profile, then i said that i wrote this improvement on behalf of someone who can't speak english and still you don't understand...
