I have been asking for this since S1... but still is the damn fwd faster... easiest car to drive and its the fastest of the three... that is just not fair...
Edit> link to the first time (24-01-2004) and second time (31-03-2006) I mentioned this...
if you are going to use the simulator for commercial use, then you have to get a commercial license... ask the devs directly on this via the contact form on the main website...
well not all the magic... we would know that something is coming, but nobody would know what... i think everybody knows they will get some presents for xmas, but the magic is discovering what exactly you get
and I'm not asking the devs to tell us what will we get, only if we will get something
Will there be one? Devs, please tell us, so we have something to look forward
I'm not asking for any further details and not even the release date (must not be on X-Mas exactly)... Just a simple yes/no answer will do or just a hint that something simillar is coming
Thanks!
I got the same crackling or chirping problem as Warper... imo it comes from the wind sound... revs have nothing to do with it... got the same directX, but different "sound card"
tried moving the "hw acceleration slider" with no effect...
In reaction to translated (thx to DoN) Scawen's 1st post the slovakian simracer magorik said in shoutbox "magorik - 17.10.2006 17:37:34
ja som to aj tak chapal ( takze tu nemame gamesu co za 2 roky padne do zabudnutia ale mame tu generacny projekt :-)
live for ever (eee... speed) :-)"
which stands for: "i thought the same ( so we don't have a game that gets forgotten in 2 years, but a generation project :-)"
I think that one thing LFS needs, is more tracks. The game itself is still undergoing development which is good, but the tracks are still the same for a loooong time already. I'm with LFS for over 3 years and I know all the tracks inside out and there is nothing that can surprise me. The thrill of new tracks when S2 came out was great, but that has already passed away...
Some of you may argue that I (and almost everyone) haven't driven all the combos, but name me a combo and in 2-3 hours of practice I'm within 1 sec of the WR and even past the WR on the not so used combos, because when you know a track, getting used to another car is easy, driving the reversed config, you also know (or at least have a very good guess) where the next turn will be...
Totally new tracks would be the "cure" for this.
It would be nice if Eric would only work on LFS and make new tracks, but i think that this is not possible, because he does not work only for LFS. So how to work around this?
I thought of several ways>
1. Open LFS for track modding
+ Many new tracks each day(week)
- a lot of low quality ones
- for online racing you would have to find/download the exact track the server uses, time-consuming, frustrating if you can't find the right version
2. Keep LFS closed for modding, do a track contest each month and get the best 5 into LFS
+ only hiquality models would make it into LFS
+ track update files in one place, easy to find
- organisators and rules of the contest would be needed
the devs would only need to say the format in which to submit new tracks
3. Keep LFS closed for modding, hire track modelers
+ only hiquality models would make it into LFS
+ track update files in one place, easy to find
- LFS devs would need to pay those modelers
i really don't need this, but for some it could be useful... i use instant look, 90 degrees FOV so the only blindspots are in the places where the body of the car blocks the view...
if there would be such a feature, it would be a risk that demo people could find a way around to use it too... and moving the feature from S2 licensed only to everybody... imo not good...
yup driving in last gear slowly will get your consumption very low... it will take very long to drive the most laps... we once had a "consumption" race, but to leave in some thrills, the driver who was last on every 10th lap was dropped out...
I have a Logi Momo for 2.5 years now. The wheel is still ok, but I had to replace the pedals (with ECCI), since I had the first version, which gave up its ghost after racing over 50.000 km online (after 1.5 years). But because it has a plastic "bearing" i don't think it will last... I will go for the DFP after the Momo dies...
a lot of people upload hotlaps only because of leagues (including me)... if you have more than 20 drivers, there aren't many other ways to divide them onto servers...
so i have not voted in the poll, because this option is not there...
everybody who stays in the race for 75% of the finish-time of the leader gets points in our league, but he will get only point for the last position...
I have all the replays from the event here, its division 2 (Divize 2), but i don't know which race (will try to find out) (first two replays are: qualifying and qualifying race), driver's lfsnick: ThorR
