I remember, we were at the national contest on consumer rights in Moscow. The last night we slept about 3 hours, then walked all day in the city and then flew home (4 hours in flight, 3 hours difference, and I couldn't sleep because of noise (DC-10 ) ). So, 3 hours of sleeping in 2 days. The next day I slept 18 hours.

You've completely missed the point:

1) I pay for megabytes of traffic. You all have unlimited ADSL with monthy $20, but here even ADSL users pay for traffic. 3 megabytes here, 10 there, the price is $0,06/mb. It makes a lot of money, taking into account our salaries here.

2) These guaranteed crashes could have been avoided, IMO.

One thing I really don't like is that quite often a new patch has a guaranteed crash somewhere, as it was with patch R, U28, U29 and some other U*. I just don't dare to download a recently published version (because traffic still costs money for me).

Sometimes I also become impatient, and long waiting really annoys. But usually I give a full credit of trust to Scawen. His professional skills are excellent and undoubtable. This is seen in the text documents on LFS, in the open c++ applications made for InSim demo. All the good things that were added to S1 while developing S2, appeared in S2 as well, without problems, eg. skidmarks and smoke. S2 wasn't a ground-up rewrite, I guess it required minimum changes in the modules.

When I sometimes write something in PHP and terribly mess my code, I think "Scawen would never do such clutter in his code".

Though I really wish LFS had some good things of X-Plane.

Updated translation and found that LFS reports some strings to exceed the limit by 1 character.

Russia F1 is broadcasted by Ren-TV channer (public, not subrscibed) with only one commentator, Alexei Popov. He is excelent. I don't know if satellite TV companies (NTV+) broadcast F1 in Russia.

DTM is commented quite good by Oksana Kosachenko (female! ) She speaks very fast like Italian commentators. She also comments Renault WS, Euro-3000, LMS and WTCC with Andrei Larinin, Russian F1.Racing journal chief editor. They make a very good duet. Other guys in other series are good. There are only two persons who occasionally appear in DTM or support races, who speak averagely. But in general commentators are good.

To be honest, just 3 years ago the same commentators of non-F1 races were bad, they often pissed me off, but since that time they improved their skills very much.

So now you get "mirror: real" and the follwoing messages in the FPS line, but other events are still in chat log: sound on-off, playing : %s, mouse locked in window/fullscreen, sound reloaded, controllers reset. What's the system and the difference?

U28 always crashes when I start a single race (practice,no AI). U27 works fine.

Well, sounds reasonable, but plastic is very durable. You can fill a bottle with water completely (there will be no compression) and jump on it, and it will not break in any place. It needs very much pressure to break up, much more than it is there, even at 38,000ft (0,75 bar + a bit of the beer). Just leave more air for any case.

Anyway, I would really want to take a beer in a distant place if it were special, produced only in my city/region. Then the package doesn't matter, I want to bring a taste, not a glass bottle, nor a trademark.

Plastic is practical. If you want to transport the liquid, then your choice is plastic. If you want to bring the package, I can't help you.

Also note the flag at my nickname and think. Here plastic bottles are not a sign of good/bad beer. Pretentious beer - yes, it is sold in glass. For everyone else the question is not the bottle, but how you drink it then: bocal, plastic glass or right from the bottle. Good beer (without conservants, etc.) is unlikely to be sold in bottles at all.

Some examples of Russian swear-words. Just read and see how may senses there are of the same root. Hope I won't be banned All the following words are oaths, used in swearing or in a speech of, well..., low cultural level. You don't want to speak so with women, especially with mother/girlfriend/wife/daughter (if you are a normal average man) or to say on TV, or to write this in a newspaper or in the LFS official translation - in these cases this is like taboo. In most internet forums this is prohibited and persued, though few of these words have become so widely used that are not noticed by readers.

In general, if you are average or above average, you don't speak so with some kind of persons. Among men-friends or women-friends this can be accepted to some extent or completely, being normal way of expressing ideas - this depends a lot on your social circle..

I would say, if you are a complete oather, you speak with few roots, using all the rich Russian word formation toolset - suffixes and prefixes, figurative meaning and context understanding. So, if you are low social status (low-qualified hard work like marketplace or street-cleaning), you may dispense with narrow vocabulary of words' roots (no need to strain your brain ). If you are educated, you better call things with their own names and speak rich language in everyday speech - but when you need to swear, ...you swear. Of course, I've seen some educated persons swearing a lot in a normal speech, some even when speaking with girls. Good girls dislike that.

Somehow, swearing is more a grammatical event and a sign of your social circle, it has no sacred meaning as in mentioned above examples (if you don't swear at god or something sacred , but to really punch one's sacred feelings you need to be a very good speaker, and this can be said without taboo lexics). The grammatical richness, I guess, must be the same for all the Slavic languages.

Here are some derivatives of just one root. There are few other oath roots and numerous derivative words carrying many semi-tones of sense. Moreover, all the listed verbs seem to be irregular.

pizdà - noun, femminile, c**t

Can also be used in figurative meaning, applying a negative attitude to the person/object that is substituted. The sense is carried by the context: Dormitory guard pisses me off! We were having a party, but then this c. came and told everyone to go to their rooms and that she'd report us to the dean's office. - (c. stands for "terrible/annoying/troublemaking woman").

pizdà - II - n, f - abstract term, means in general troubles (narkyt'sya pizdoy - lit. to cover oneself with c. - means to become out of order (a device), to be cancelled (a project, an event). Used together with dat' (give) or poluchit' (receive) verbs makes: give pizdy (*accusative case) - beat or punish, receive pizdy - to be beaten or punished (by chief, parent, etc.)

pizdàtiy - adjective (here in masculine gender) - very cool

pizdàto - adverb - very cool

bez pizdy (*acc. case) - without c. = "no bullshit".

pizdets - n, m - abs. term, means a bad, terrible situation which is impossible to change (in fact any unpleasant situation can be called this way).

pìzdit' - v, imperfect, to beat somebody

otpizdit' - v, perf - to have beaten somebody (this verb has a set of derivatives (participles, adjectives) which I don't list here)

pìzdit' - II - v, imp - to steal something (equal to English indefinite and continuous tenses)

spìzdit' - v, imp - to have stolen something. There are some popular euphemisms of this verb. Eg. scommunizdit' (from "communism", hinting that communism is when everything is for free).

spizzhenniy - adj - stolen

pizdovàt' - (note the "-ova-" suffix) v, imp - to go. Eg. pizdooy! (imperative) - go! (go away!), popizdovàlee! (imper., note "po-" prefix, which makes the verb be in perfect case) - let's go!

pizdit'sya - v, imp, to fight.

pizdìt' (accent on the other syllable) - v, imp - to bullshit

pizdét' - the previous or "to chat"

napizdét' - v, perf, to have told (a lot of) bullshit

pizdobòl (pronounced piece-door-ball) - n, m - bullshitter

popizdét' - v, perf to have had a talk, a speech

dopizdétsya (pref. "do-", reversive suffix "-sya") - v, perf - to have talked/lied much/long enough (so that it has lead to negative consequences)

ruspizdyày - n, m (f: ruspizdyàyka) - poorly organized person that does his/her job/study badly

ruspizdyàystvo - n, neuter - disorganization, bad work/study, debauch

ruspizdyaystvovat' - v, imp - to be disorganized (permanently or temporarily because of bad mood, parties, etc. - depending on the context)

What does "Gearshift debounce" translation string stand for? I understand the 1st word, get some idea of the second ("debounce" is absent in the vocabulary), but all together it is obscure.

I've been studying English intensively since the age of 7 till 22, scored 633 of 670 points in TOEFL last year. But I struggle with the narrow vocabulary especially when speaking. You can't keep a near-native level living outside of the language environment.

I'm an economist, but half of the Foreign Languages Department graduates speak English worse than me. Seems that I'm talented, because there is really nothing difficult in learning English except pronunciation (that's a pain in the neck!). To be Slavic or Finnish is an advantage when you learn a Western-European language: all of them are simpler.

Just a vote from me: next year I'll definitely upgrade to 64 bit PC, but will never install Vista. I've already switched to Mandriva and run a pirated XP only for LFS, RoR and X-Plane (planning to switch it to Linux too).

I don't know if it is a test-patch-specific bug, but I've seen this only in U22 and in one particular place.

When user's car in replay or in-game is in one corner on sector1 (see the attached image), LFS freezes and makes very heavy load on CPU: nothing works, 100% occupied, Alt+TAB doesn't work, neither Ctrl+Alt+Del can help: seems like the program manager just can't run because of the heavy CPU load. The in-game synthetic sound plays the same tone all the freeze time. This continues about minute or two, then LFS "unfreezes" and in-game time has passed further (in replay) or your car stands at it's start position (in game). Then everything goes on normally, if you pass that turn again, nothing special happens.

I've seen it only twice and don't know how to reproduce it. Once it was an SPR with only 1 BF1, another time it was practice session against AI, all in BF1.
