Quote from Scawen :I don't remember hearing of that before. If it is reproducible then I can fix it. It would be great if it is visible in an MPR, then I could reproduce it directly in the debugger.

EDIT: OK, I have some examples of this in my skins_x and skins_y folders. It seems the names and skins are getting confused somehow. Thanks for the report, I'll look into this now.

EDIT2: I found the bug, and it will be fixed in the next version! Smile

It's been a constant issue since the test patches started. Every day in TC, cops are accused of not having a proper police skin, and civilians -- of carrying a cop skin.

Restarting LFS actually fixes it for a while.

It's probably the original setup, but to drive it normally in multiplayer, you need to have a lower first gear. Otherwise the clutch gets burned quickly.

Hard to handle at speeds below 40 kmh, sometimes it starts oscillating when you try to accelerate from it, but I'm not sure if it's physics fault or the setup. I've made the front harder, but not sure if it improved anything.

Impressed what people can extract out of this mod editor. Big grin

Would be funny to see replay with vehicle flying and then the same in forces mode.

No. I appreciate LFS for teaching that many things are impossible, and adding power does not make you race faster.

Nice. But why does it have a touring car class? Shouldn't it be salon?

Here's another bug:

1) enter single player. Go to car, choose a mod (let's say UZM 1700). Choose default color #6.

2) Go back to single player screen. The car color is what was chosen.

3) Exit from single player to the entry screen. Go to multiplayer, enter a game.

4) Choose a standard car. Choose default color #2.

5) Click "OK". See the chosen car:

6) Quit multiplayer. Enter single player. The car should be the one chosen before in single player, and the color too.

7) Enter "Car" screen. The color of the car changes. Now it has default color #2, rather than #6. The color leaked here from multiplayer.

Tried loading the vram as much as possible, but never got above 21%.

Still it's strange that after reboots the system with new drivers kept crashing.

Ok. Memory, you mean video card memory? I see full-size textures take 257 MB, and I have GeForce GTX 960M (according to the web it has 4GB vram).

I checked what apt has installed today, and it was NVIDIA 470 driver. I upgraded to unstable 495, it crashed too, and downgraded to 460 -- it worked. But after re-upgrading to 470, the crash didn't happen as earlier.

I guess, there must have been a memory leak. I'll be watching the card's vram to see if that might be the cause.

That did the trick, I could not make it crash with whatever car.

BTW, everything is ok with full-size textures on Fern Bay and other old tracks.

My theory on this is that previous winter, nVidia driver got updated, caused crashes, then updated again which fixed the bug (but I didn't reboot for a month, and things got fixed after that). It might be the bug is happening again after the new update. But I may need to try older driver versions to test.

This is what I see after driving on Westhill now. A sign of upcoming crash.

Another try with another NVidia driver version, same result. With RB4 it does not crash immediately on the track, but pitting couple of times causes the same error.

Linux shell (where Wine was called): https://pastebin.com/LQfddz1Z

Quote from Scawen :I'll be interested to know if you get a crash again. By the way, in that Wine error report, if you scroll up to the top of the report, is there a crash offset and exception code?

The entire Wine report is in the Pastebin link.

I've rebooted my computer. There was an Nvidia driver update today. And the error is still here, happening on Westhill map. I had a similar thing earlier this year, it happened on WE and Blackwood in some particular places near the middle of the map in Y axis (I mean if we look at the map in fixed mode, the middle between top and bottom parts).

Let me run it again later, I'll post what I see in Wine window and in Linux shell.

Hmm, no, it's not ROSSI. Same thing happens in that place of Westhill with other cars. I'll test more, maybe it wast just driver update and I didn't reboot my machine.

The ROSSI mod seems to cause LFS crash.

Take the mod, Westhill, Carpark A variant, start and drive straight through the grass and to the road. LFS crashes about at the spectators stand.

Everything worked Ok earlier today in Aston, in TC City Driving W, where ROSSI isn't allowed.

Quote from Anton :We need a 16 valve version with a front differential lock, converged gear ratios and sports shock absorbers! )))

We need sprayers with blue LEDs! (синие писалки) And an antenna! Also a dacha version (багажник на крыше, мешок картошки, тяпки и рассада помидоров) would be great Big grin

The default setup with stone-hard suspension and too powerful brakes is hard to drive.

I made it have 9 and 8 kN/m hard, 1.5 kNs/m compression dampers & 2.5 kNs/m rebound dampers. Brakes 80 Nm, tyres 132 kPa.

With these it dosen't fall down on any bump and you can brake with a button.

Quote from Vladimir_nose :The settings of the car are exposed to everything I could find, now they generally correspond to reality and the stroke is indicated as 132mm.

Ok, nevermind! Great work, thanks a lot!

I've found the suspension travel dimensions: 132 mm.

It also has horizontal stabilizer, it should be enabled in the settings, but I have no idea how to estimate its strength.

gear ratios:

— на 1-й передаче — 3,7;
— на 2-й передаче — 2,06;
— на 3-й передаче — 1,27;
— на 4-й передаче — 0,9;
— задний ход — 3,67.
Главная передача ОКА — 4,1 (на ваз 1111 ГП = 4,54)

What do the dash and 'o' in mod description mean?

E-challenger has "-o-", Hardplan has "o--", FZ50 safety car "---", while many cars have "o-o" (UF1100T).

EDIT: Oh, I see, it's driver position, whether it's left, right or none. I wonder why Safety car has no driver Big grin

Trying to enter "[TC] CityDriving W" server, I get error and fail to connect 9 times out of 10. Error messages are

1) unexpected guest packet (most often)
2) did not get skins info
3) unknown packet.

I could enter it once and play, but second time gave up after ~15 attempts.

I'm on W45. Don't know what the server is running on.

Very pleased to see tracks being updated, and the software too.

Would be great to see parts of smaller, traditional English towns, with narrow streets, to train finer maneuvering, like for real-life driving. Smile

Congratulate me, passed theory and driving exams right away from first attempt (usually, only 1 of 3 does it). Thanks to LFS and wheel with 3 pedals, I was able to navigate in the city from the 2nd lesson, and see the ambient rather than be busy keeping our precious Logan from stalling, etc. Smile

Quote from Ibtasim6781 :I guess they are larger because its an Industrial Estate, and its meant for trucks to drive on.

Hmm, I thought of that, but had not bothered to check. Now I looked at Southhampton port in UK, and indeed, lanes are up to 5.7 m to make life easier for trucks.
