I don't think I came off clearly, I dont mean like make it hard just for the sake of being hard, i mean very detailed, very complicated, so you can actually make tracks that are up to the standard the game already as, not dumbed down like i have seen in Rfactor and other games...
And coustom tracks do not suck, i happen to have hundreds of hours in coustom tracks for nascar 2003 :wtf2::inq:
I put it on 200% because it reminds me most of what the wheel actually feels like while racing my own car (which has very weak power steering for the record) but its not horribly strong, i mean i dont hear thinks grinding or wearing, i always break the pedals way before i wear the gear or motor down...I use 150% centering and all the other options as well, there is just no way i could drive without feeling the cars motions through the wheel
You would be suprised how much feedback you get through a steering wheel at speed...
That is the way to drive, but i admit i'll never drive that good haha, the racing is so good in lfs its all impossible to not get all over someone sometimes... and if you pair yourself with the correct people it ussually works out, if it doesnt, gota brush it off, not get upset.
Its the bonzi runs and rude driving that needs to find its way to exit right..
Wedge, cross weights, spoilers rather than wings, the huge ass tires, (width and profile) transmissions, detriot lockers, its all differnt than the LFS setup has dealing withs...although they dont use stagger anymore with radial tires, or not to any signifigant extent anyway
The problem lies in emulating the grip levlels, weight trasfer, supsension modeling (that is completly differnt than a road course suspension in essance) of a stock car..
(for the record nascar nextel cup cars are upwards of 850-900hp)
Yet even as a goof, its still some of the best (visualy) correct "motorcycle" views ive ever seen, the way the camera, as an action of the "vehicle" bobs while turning and ect, its all very realistic, to bad, its a gti :-p
Do you happen to use keyboard or wheel? I use a wheel, and ive tried a plethera of setups, ive done thousands of laps and i can just never get comfortable, and every time i race with them its a wreckfest, thats what i mean by poor racing, I love a challenge like the next guy, but only 2% of the LFS population can control them, but 90% try, and it just makes for poor racing. Much more with the LX6 than the 4, but cars like the FZ5 and GTT are much more fun for me personaly.
My biggest problem is I just really cant feel what those cars are doing, ever since S1 even, somthing just seems ..wrong...especially compaired to my experiances racing my car, i'm sure its just the nature of the beast, sim racing, but without that feel for what the car is doing its just to hard to predict oversteer.
No not really, racing just isnt close enough for me, I mean they are fun and all, but everone is spending more time trying to stay under control than they are they are overtaking, the cars are just way to unpredictable, there is no feel for your grip level in those cars for some reason. Force Feedback needs to be more of a mix of the front and rear tyre traction than the front based system we have now for those cars to be drivable
And by the sounds of it, a physics update is on the to do list for the next patch, which is awsome, but the hotlaps will probably be reset, which to me is also awsome, I will have half a chance at em again
