Definatly in the right direction, the race cars just need way more raspyness though, its like the explosions have merged into a steady stream rather than pistsons firing...they actually sound like a rotary engine
Although Indianapolis 500 was my first racing game, i never really understood how to play it because i was maybe 7 or 8 when i had it, dont recall, but nascar racing 2/1999 was the first racing sim i was really hardcore into, for yeaaars, then GPL came out and it was all uphill or downhill from there, whichever way you look at it
I can definatly relate to what you are sensing, I do club racing and autocross, and being able to hear the cars response to what I am doing is a vital part of driving, the "strain" of the engine for example, you cant always tell if you are losing time to being out of rev band if you can correctly hear your engine, the LFS sound engine has always provided me a good feel for the "strain" of the enigine, but i always have to glance over at the tach beause im not sure what rpm range im in, so if you had better sounds to more accuratly sense that, it could definatly help...
Along with poor service, I mistakenly went for Godaddy with my nr2k3 site, whew what a mistake, cheap, plenty of room but the server is SLOWwww, and they dont offer a .us server, even though they allowed us to purchase a .us domain..but we can get a us server if we add another 90$ per month for it...what a rip
I'd love to do some tracks for LFS lol, i'm one of the few remaining track creators for nascar 2003 (i focus on road corses) and i just dont get much response from it, but my diehard road course fans love them, they would be just increadible in LFS :-p
I wouldnt go as far as to say they are random, If you drive a race car in real life when you brake very hard for a turn the rear wheels start to skip which nocks your head around, I have experianced that quite a bit, and if you give it a burp of throttle it'll quit, just like it did in GTR, its effects like that I feel LFS is lacking in...
I'm not arguing the entire ISI platform is fake, but if the LFS devs could do to that stuff what they have done with the tire and aero dynamics, it'll be intense, and im sure given enough time they will, and I cant wait.
Yeah, that is almost what it feels like, Although I really love that force feedback and cockpit movement, which is in my humble opinion where LFS is most lacking, feel for the car on the road, I've played R facotor and a lot of its mods and they have even less feel than LFS and is nowhere close to what i felt in GTR, and the external view is so so as well, LFS definatly has the best external visual, it really looks like the car is on the track, NR2003/papy games do that area very well too, along with the internal and FF..
In short, if LFS could raise the bar in those areas a bit, I see no reason why it couldnt become more mainstream, its the best sim but it takes some of that other visual aid to really get some peoples attention.
I cant figure this game out, It feels semi realistic from the cockpit, the car moving across the track, skipping over the bumps and wheel hopping is all so realistic, from inside, then you look at it from the outside and it looks like pole position for atari?!? wtf is that?
I like some things better than LFS, but its not enough to sell me on it, I might only buy it for an offline game since I am on dial up and cannot always race LFS
Considering the new autocross structure wouldnt have time or space for pitting, I wouldnt see that as an option, I just hope now that the Autocross feature is more prominant in the game we'll get some better layouts, or even some base ones from the devs...
Awesome feature guys this is somthing i've been looking for for a long time as an autocross lover, but when you get this fully ready for public i hope you guys make some kinda preview video explaining what it is because I have a hard time explaining it to people whilst trying to sell LFS on them haha.
you could do the trim rings around it i'm sure with the skin, and black out the portions that dont light up to make it appear like chuki tail lights, kouki's would be pretty darn impossible though.
No, computer is not overclocked, It runs a constant 32` and maybe peaks at 33.5 when running LFS, I turned down my graphics settings, reinstaled my video drivers (along with disabling AA and AF prior to the last crash).
The crash like above happens quite randomly, only consistancy I can place is the fact it happened while in T1 of SOC twice, and comming off a turn on AS, so perhaps i could be spinning the tires in the section.
As to the computer, i ran Nascar 2003 and a very intensive editing program at full load for many hours today, and never had it lock up or do any strange activities.
I'll keep an eye on it, if it does this again I will post the report for you.
Okay I've done this, although its not actually automaticly restarting, its freezing to the point where there windows/explorer is no longer accessable. But if i see a BSCOD i'll report my findings
Every since installing the first of the new patches, and including all of the ones i've updated (U now) LFS locks up a lot if it has more than one or two processes, such as the race restarting and me hitting go to pits or somthin, it locks up solid as in no ctrl alt delete, just restart the computer...then on other occasions the game crashes to desktop randomly, no signifcant consistancy in when it does it other than it seemed to happen on SO classic the most...
