Quote from anttt69 :Whats wrong about it? No race organizer in RL would even consider putting GT cars out on a track racing against Road cars on Road tyres. It's madness. Even in that top gear 24hr race the road cars had slicks on & thats the most extreme class mixing I have ever seen.

Obviously its taking far to long for some drivers to accept that fact.

Le Mans has cars with no downforce against super fast prototypes with huge downforce.

All I am saying is that everyone needs to drive accordingly. You can run any car with any other car so long as the drivers adjust the way they drive to suit.

Sorry, feel like I'm saying the same thing twice here.

Yeah, its a shame we don't see more drivers out on the server in the two weeks between races. If we all raced each other a bit more then we would all get to know each others styles.

It would also help bring people into the series. We all want full grids so logging on the gentlefoot.com#3 when practicing is going to make the whole experience better for all of us.

SO Long is significantly wider than Fern Bay and has much longer straights for the GTRs to get past on.

As for TBOs and GTRs not being compatible that is just plain wrong. All cars are compatible with all other cars if the drivers accept that it is not a normal race and you have to make allowances.

The GTR drivers that realise this will be the same ones that finish at the top of the league come the end of the season.

As for track choice. The tracks selected give enough variety. You wouldn't want to see Monaco dropped from the F1 calendar would you?

Quote from Electric Eye :Oh, so you're saying that MOMO wheels have seperate USB connections for the PEDALS and WHEEL?

No, but there is nothing to stop u attaching two wheels to one PC through two USBs.

This is purely speculation and just based on the feeling I've had when I've used the low powered FWD cars.

Feels to me like the hybrids on the rear allow a bit of lift off oversteer without creating as much of a 'scrub' effect. So it feels like you can get the back a bit loose without scrubbing loads of speed at the same time.

When I think about the nature of grip and tyres the first thing I think of is longitudinal and lateral grip. Is it reasonable to assume that different tyre types might vary in terms of their longitudinal and lateral grip? If so it must then also be reasonable to assume that this may have an effect on the way the tyre behaves when lateral grip is lost but longitudinal grip is maintained? Maybe this has something to do with it.

Just a hunch and I'd be interested to know if the longitudinal and lateral grip characteristics of the road and hybrid tyres in LFS varies.

I used my old momo black with a saitek peddle set I had at the time. It was so that I could have a clutch but I could have also used it to get around the peddle problems that are well documented regarding the MOMO. Two USB connections, simple.

It works fine.

If you want to buy the peddles only then all the ones I have seen are real top end stuff and quite a bit of wedge.

The review is now available and penalties will be applied if required.

During the early rounds of the first season of the GFC we had similar discussions to this regarding FO8s and FOXs. The judicial reviews meant that some divers were penalised during the season.

Now we don't see these types of problems in the GFC anymore. At least it is extremely rare.

If you watch the GFC replay from this weekends race and then watch the replay from the first ever GFC race the contrast is stark!

It will take some time but the standard of driving will improve in the same way in the GTTC as it did in the GFC.

There are often some rather 'wild' shall we say drivers at the start of seasons too. These 'wild' drivers tend to disappear over the season. Some of them leave and some of them morph into much more 'considered' drivers over time.

I expect the standard of driving in the GTTC to improve drammatically over the next 2 or 3 rounds. And it's also worth remembering the Fern Bay Gold is renowned for it's danger and tightness and is always a challenge for drivers only 3 races into their first season.

But it is spectacular and the replays offer endless entertainment when watched with Race Viewer.

A reasonable time don't worry. I can't check the replay because I'm at work but most people don't realise the final turn is taken flat.

Other than that, you will find you can shed seconds if you listen to the engine note and try not to scrub speed in the turns. Use all the entry and exit space you can and concentrate on unwinding the lock as you apply the throttle nice and early when exiting corners.

Having seen a few times from recent tests I am taking back my prediction that Honda would show improvement this year. It seems they are just as lost as they were this time last year. Another season at the back for Jenson then.

My view for this season is this:

Ferrari and Mclaren close but Ferrari will produce the better results this year.

BMW, Renault, Williams and Red Bull are all capable of being 'best of the rest' and BMW won't have it all their own way this time. Red Bull could be the surprise package this year and I think their reliability will be much better.

Honda will show significant improvement over the season and by the end should be heading the midfield pack ahead of Toyota and STR.

Super Aguri will not be able to punch above their weight again this year as they are gonna be using Honda's dreadful RA107. Force India will finish ahead this year I think.

There some more predictions in this thread:

btw - if you are confident you are right in your predictions you'd better put 'spoiler' in the title. I made that mistake in 06 and then people moanded at me for spoiling the surprise.

FE Gold is fantastic in the FOX. FBM would be good there too although probably more fun on the little club circuit.

This reminds me of F355 Challenge on the Dreamcast. You used to be able to get to the front of the pack and then stop the second place car on the racing line. Then the rest of the field all used to be stopped by the car in front and you get a nice neat long line of cars all stationary on track lol.

No similar topics found - there's a surprise.

Can someone tell me why Mark Lamarr has disappeared from mainstream British television? Is he so awful to look at that radio is the only format appropriate?

I'm missing his character slashing humour and I don't think Radio 2 is the place I'm gonna find it, though I haven't dared venture there to find out.

Does anyone else miss Mark's comedy genius?

Sounds like too much front wheel rate. Shouldn't be a problem with road tyres on a low powered car like this.

Try reducing front spring/ARB/damping or increase rear spring/ARB/damping.

If you are using a locked diff that won't help either. Too much coast locking will reduce turn in and increase front tyre temps. Locked diff = 100% coast locking.

Quote from Victor :hm ok so the problem wasn't what i thought it was then.

Anyway, I've rewritten the internals of the relay setup page - please try again and let me know if it works now.

Thanks Victor - that's done it. Both showing at the same time now

Right - both port numbers work fine when I add each host individually. But I can only have one working at any one time.

The Insim port numbers are 53317 and 53319. I now have 53317 working fine but not 53319 unless I use the update button. Then I can switch over the 53319 and back again if I wish but not add the same host again with the different port.

Quote from Victor :from what i can see here, the connection attempt to your host times out (ie. it waits a bit and then fails).

Either your firewall is not setup properly, or you haven't entered the correct insim port (either in lfs or the relay).
Or (to cover myself) it's some obscure thing i can't think of right now But my best guess would be the firewall.

It's a 500Server so I have no control over firewall.

OK thanks for the help

I'll double check the insim ports but seeing as I am using them for Lapper I can't really see how I have them wrong

Thanks again.

EDIT: I can simply update the Insim port number to the other host and it works fine. But if I try and add instead of update it gives me that message. Guess that rules out firewall settings for both Insim ports and proves InSim works fine on both servers. hmmm

So I can add the same IP address twice?

When I add the IP address again with the different Insim Port for the other host I get the following message even though the insim port is different:

"ERRORS:
The entered IP and Port number are already submitted to the Relay."

Quote from felplacerad :http://www.lfsworld.net/?win=h ... Tab=insim_relay&abc=4

What do I do if I want to add hosts that share the same IP address to the relay? If you try and tag the port onto the end of the IP address you just get a dead connection.

I have 3 servers all on the same IP address each with different port numbers. They each have different InSim port numbers too. I have successfully added one of them but I would like to be able to add the others too.

Thanks.
