Where are all the FOX entries?

Over 40 entrants in the championship but hardly anyone has signed up for the event.

I won't be able to run the event unless there are more entries unfortunately.

Quote from BigDave2967 :That'd be awesome to practice, is this for the 27th may in particular?

Yes - 27th May is FE Club. I will not always choose this type of circuit. There will be a mixture of tight and open tracks.

Quote from FL!P :Club is its name, Storm. It's FE1, the shortest tarmac layout (1 mi).

WR in FO8 is about 32 seconds so I have based my calculation for laps on that. This results in a 136 lap race.

This will mean lots of passing of back markers for the front runners so plenty of practice which is just what's needed in preparation for Season 1.
The Gentlefoot Formula Challenge

Preparations for the first Gentlefoot Formula Challenge are nearing completion.

There will be a 'dry run' event to be held on May 27th at 20:00 GMT (21:00 BST). Go to http://www.gentlefoot.com/LFS/forum/index.php and register on the forum. You will then be able to sign up for this event by sending me a PM stating your LFS Name, screen name and what car you will be driving (if you haven't entered the championship already).

All the information about the event is in the GFC forum.

Quote from MyBoss :1 Race, 3 GTR cars, 3 champions, one for each car. + one overall champion

The thought is this.
With the new balancing option we can use lets say
FZR in GTR 1 division, an XRR with weight/less power
for GTR 2 division and FXR with even more weight/less
power in a GTR 3 division.

Thinking about LeMans where they drive many
car classes at the same time around the same track.
Though, there isn't really that much difference between
the fastest and the second fastest group of cars.
The ballancing have to be in a way that the classes are
uneven enough that the leader of GTR2 can't catch up
with the leader of GTR1, unless he/she makes a mistake.
But the classes have to be even enough that the fastest
GTR2 car can have a chanse to catch up with the slowest
GTR1 class car. Lets say 3 to 4 second difference between
the fastest on a track like AS Historic

Doing this in LFS means that we can change these
cars to be highly uncompetitive in a league, and we can
have races with 3 divisions at the same time (catch my drift?)

All drivers and divisions will share the same points system,
meaning that if a GTR 3 car manages to win the race (highly unlikely)
he will get the same ammount of points as a GTR1 car if it had won.
Meaning that there will be four throphy's. One each for the three GTR classes, and one overall champion. (most likely one from GTR1.)

Doing something like this in LFS would have been loads of fun,
the thing is that I don't have the time nor the spirit to manage an
event like this. This is just an idea, and I would love it if someone
made it happen.
This could allso be used with the TBO and LRF classes, maybe the
TBO and LRF classes together even.

Is anyone interested in something like this?

Sounds totally cool to me. Similar to what I'm doing in the GFC. I would enter something like this if I had time but I don't.

Well the sever is always open for public racing. Difficulty is holding a long race without having formal entries - hence doing like this so that people have a couple of weeks to sign up.

But I'll surely be on FE Club for the next couple of weeks developing a set and practicing. I'm sure there'll be a few of us.

But yeah - I may do some short notice unofficial practice runs of say 30 laps or whatever with free entry.

In the forum there are now additional tips for the Track Guide added by Storm_cloud who is much faster than me. Also it was suggested that some comments should be made about the best places to pass and the most likely spots for accidents so I have also added in my thoughts about this. If anyone has any good experience racing on this circuit please feel free to contribute.

I will add a lot more content to the site this weekend. In the forum I have stated what my plans are. The next bit of work I do will be to do with the Gentlefoot Formula Challenge. I plan to add the rules for this in this weekend in anticipation that the patch X may arrive next week - yippee!

Could I ask, please please please, can all GFC entrants go and register on the forum here http://www.gentlefoot.com/LFS/ ... ba7e4a7588179523dff773f75

If you don't you will not recieve important information about the Championship as I am not sending any more LFS Forum PMs to only 5 people at a time and having to wait 60 seconds between posts.

There are still a few of you not registered.

Thanks for your cooperation

Quote from BigDave2967 :I'm looking forward to this championship , should be a lot of fun. Only thing I'm a tad worried about, is the lag on sundays evenings. The evenings I get dial up speed. I use virgin.net and I hear from ATC fellows that there will be an upgrade in June, so hopefully, I won't be a bother when the league gets underway .

Hope you get it sorted mate. There will be some rules regarding lag. i.e. if you are too laggy you won't be able to compete. So make sure you get it sorted dude cos I want you on the grid.

Thanks mate - apprciated. Think I may do FE Gold next. Or maybe Aston Historic.

Sorry all I haven't sorted the AVIs for FF users yet. But here is a link of you want to go and view them separately.

I'll embed them soon. Needed a night off last night

Had some good racing on FE Gold tonight with the dual class formula. Seems to work well although some FO8 drivers need to remember that they approach FOXs so fast that the FOXs don't see them coming.

In the GFC the onus will be on the driver behind to take responsibility and pass cleanly, regardless of what cars are involved.

Quote from keithano :How many rounds are there in total? I think I can only make my progress through June 16th as I am heading back to Hong Kong for my summer vacation from Seattle. The time will be ideal for me when I am in Seattle, but 04:00 in Hong Kong is likely to be a nightmare. Anyway, let's see ^^

Please go the the forum to check for info like that please mate. http://www.gentlefoot.com/LFS/forum/index.php

OK all I've just totalled up the votes for the day and time of the events and we have a clear winner from your 1st choices. I'm pretty glad about that, saves me having to total up 2nd and 3rd choices.

Option 11 has 9 votes and is a clear winner by 4 votes. Option 2 was the next closest.

So that means the Gentlefoot Formula Challenge will be held at 20:00 GMT on Sunday nights. That equates to 21:00 BST here in the UK.

I will schedule the events for the weeks between the OWRL events so we don't clash.

I will add this information to the forum which is now up and running. All entrants should go and register so I can contact you easier. Through the LFS PM system is a nightmare because I can only send to 5 recipients at a time. We have well over 40 entries now and climbing.
