If the race starts at 21:00 UK Time I get complaints that its too late and "can we have it an hour earlier". We move to British Winter Time and the race becomes and hour earlier and then I get "boohoo top gear is on". I can't win

If there are any FO8 drivers out there who would like to compete in a 75 minute race this Sunday at 20:00 UK Local Time please go to GFC Event and sign up.

For the first time this season we have a very unbalanced grid with many more FOXs than FO8s.

The FOX really can be set up to be very easy to catch a slide. Go and get one of my set ups from LFS Car Setups

You should pick a track with a few slower corners to help you practice catching the oversteer.

You have to be quick with the opposite lock - experience with the car will mean you can anticipate the oversteer earlier so just practice.

If you are having trouble with my set you can make it easier to catch the slide by making the following adjustments:

-reduce the amount of differential power locking. This will allow the inside wheel to spin up more making the slide easier to catch.

-add some front ARB - just one or two clicks.

-add 1 click of rear downforce.

These changes will however make the set slightly slower.

Yep - all the sets will last over the long run (anything up to 75 mins). The tyres will go through a hot stage until they start to thin slightly. It's then that they really start to get grippy.

I don't want to use YouTube because I want to host thse videos from my site. You're right tho - it would be nice if the player showed how much was buffered.

Not sure which movie you are referring to as just a string of clips though. There are 8 movies on there and then the clips from my battles in the last race (never intended to be movies).

Yeah - a good suggestion. It's exactly what we did before the GFC and if the signups look reasonable I will set one up for the GTTC too

If FOXs and FO8s are safe then so are TBOs and GTRs in my view. You just have to have clear rules about lapping. See any of the GFC races - especially the last one (Race 10 which I will upload tonight).

btw - it's not a choice of LXs or TBOs and GTRs. They are two completely separate events.

Double Vision is the LX event on 16th December. GTTC starts next Jan and will use TBOs and GTRs in a dual class formula the same as the GFC.

lol - yes! I get to bump this thread and say "I told ya so!".

Just wondered how many LFSers out there have ever been involved in a race where every driver has completed the race? Last night the GFC had 18 cars on the grid and every single driver finished the race. The race was 75 minutes long!

It's never happened to me before and I was wondering how rare or not this is.

Last nights race was fantastic fun. 18 cars on the grid and 18 finishers. A very rare thing indeed. Especially over a 75 minute race.
