I think LFS has a problem with simulating friction values of the tyre when you are driving on the tyrewall. This is exactly what happens here, after hopping over a curb. Instead of decreased friction because of the much lower contact area, it increases a lot (the peaks in your graph) and causes the high g values or a flip in the worst case. I've already tested this behaviour quite some time ago and got similar results.

Quote from AJS :You would not do this when you would be driving !

That's true. When I'm driving, my passengers usually push their imaginary brakes

You could try LFS S1 and switch on/off simple car to see if the reflections are causing the slowdown.

Unfortunately I only received one cover so far. As there is no sight of a new LFS version yet, I think it's ok to extend the competition until the end of january.

LFS is not open source, why arguing about it? Asking Scawen to release the source code of LFS is like asking Microsoft to release the source code of Windows.

There are already some open source "simulations" out there, so why don't you play and improve them?

There is always room for improvement, but somehow you have to get it started

How is the progress? It would be nice to have some designs up for voting in the next weeks

P.s. You can already send me your work. I won't post it here until the deadline, so no-one can steal your ideas

I've added a password protection for the LFSWiki to prevent the nasty spammers. Just use 'lfswiki' as username and password to login.

Ok, so now we already have some high-res textures (skies, driver suits, braking discs). If you are interested, I could put them all in one installer and upload the file as a test.

I always wonder how dumb you have to be to post with a cracked account in an official forum illepall

I just want to add that the CD being selled on live-for-speed.de isn't an official Live for Speed product, but an third-party "package". The devs have allowed me to produce such a package, but are not responsible for it. So if you have any questions concerning the CD, just drop me a PM or e-mail.

At the time of the S2 alpha release I had to decide whether to put an unfinished version on the CD or not. I decided to wait for the final S2 release and that's why no-one received a CD yet. I can assure you, that all the people who have pre-ordered will receive their CD right after the next big update, meaning that the major physic flaws are fixed.

Just out of interest, what corrections did you make?

But does use LFS EAX anyway? I think it uses it's own sound engine without the need of EAX.

As you wrote in your second post, the performance difference is likely due to some upmixing by the driver, so it has nothing todo with LFS.

The texture size should depend on the res of the original texture. The old S1 ones use smaller res textures than the new S2 ones. So I'd suggest to double the res for the S2 textures and use 4x textures for the S1 ones.

For example:

256x256 gras texture of S1 track -> 1024x1024 high-res
512x512 gras texture of S2 track -> 1024x1024 high-res

Not high-res, but an idea of how the laptop texture could be improved
