Which mod?
I scrolled through your posts and on all submissions it says a reason why the mod was denied or unpublished.
One model was from a site with unsuitable license and the others were ripped from Forza / GTA mod / Need for Speed.
Can you link which mod you mean, maybe I missed one.
I think I found the race in your profile.
24 December 2022, user aislas is in three of your races.
In two races he does a 1min05 laptime.
On reverse Rallyecross it might be possible to be so much faster by cutting across the big graveltrap. But on normal direction it would be uphill and I doubt there are other places to gain so much time, at least not in XFG. I am not 100% sure though, maybe it is possible to run wider on the grass in places where the hotlap check is more strict with track limits.
Well, I wrote that before I noticed that aislas also has a 0:10.380 (10 seconds!) lap on BL Grandprix in XFG.
Next time, as Sobis wrote save the replay. Note that you can only save the replay once per race, so if you save on lap 1 then you can not save again until the race has restarted.
You can hold down CTRL+SHIFT and it will display the accountname instead of the customizable displayed name.
Only hotlaps are checked for shortcuts and only hotlaps have a global ranking list and download of the replay.
You can see your personal best laps (and personal bests of others) by visiting racer profiles on lfsworld, but there is no ranked list.
Worldrecord time for XFG at Blackwood Rally is 1:08.34 by jsrk.
His best online time is 1:07.660
Second fastest WR driver has chosen to hide online stats.
Third fastest is Datsuni with 1:08.560 for hotlap and 1:07.740 for online. Actually a bit faster than jrsk.
Maybe there are faster times but as said, there is no ranked list for that.
I want to second the posts by Racon about tall object.
Driving around custom tracks is much easier if there are some reference points. Getting a corner right is helped if there is some tall objects at the apex. There are some ways to build stuff like this:
However, it is hard to avoid a LEGO feel and it would look better with dedicated objects.
For example a round metal post.
That could also be useful to put turn-markers a bit higher into the air, making them easier to see.
That long bar looks strange but it seems roughly correct compared with the video.
Yes, it seems like some parts are shifted slightly sideways/not centered..for example the points where rear suspension attaches to gearbox are a bit different left/right.
I remember a small sim "Racer" from a decade ago and had to check out if you really meant http://racer.nl/
It always seemed like a neat techdemo but went anywhere beyond that. There was not much to do except drive around by yourself and content was limited.
I vaguely remember we once tried 1v1 multiplayer on LAN, not sure if it worked.
You could download cars and tracks from the forums but it was often super buggy and you had to match the correct versions etc. Beyond the physics everything felt very incomplete.
Interesting that they make commercial simulators now.
For me it was one of many tech/physics demos that I loved to play around with at the time, no matter how buggy or half-finished. (Another project I remember is "Rigs of Rods")
Sorry for the offtopic but Apollo program was exactly the opposite. Its hard target no matter what was to put a man on the moon before the decade is out.
Several problems were solved by throwing money and material at it.
I doubt that.
Most types of batteries already existed in basic forms in 1980 but their wikipedia articles all mention several advances.
Would you want a 1980's battery in your phone or laptop? Not to mention general advances in electronics, constructions etc.
There is much talk about range, speed and charging times. How much do they actually matter?
The usage statistics of cars show that the average trip length is a few kilometers with 1-2 persons in the car, often just 1 person.
How often does one really need to get across a country by car?
Common usage is that the car drives to work (say 5-100km) some shopping, then the car stands still over night.
An EV can do that. Any small car can do that.
So why do people buy big cars?
Racer X NZ, your view biased and too focused on the special situation in NZ.
Many things do not apply to other places.
You say yourself it is "the NZ equivalent of a major town" but for many other people would probably not considered it a major town.
You live on a thinly populated island that is smaller than some EU countries in the middle of the ocean.
For example, comparing with Germany:
size:
NZ: 269652 km² - 19 peoplepersons per km²
GER: 357588 km² - 235 peoplepersons per km²
Roughly comparable in size but very different countries.
The most densely populated area in NZ is only a bit more dense than Germany on average. Biggest NZ town would be #40 in Germany and nobody would be able to accurately find it on a map because it is so unremarkable.
No surprise that the infrastructure is worse.
If anything it is amazing how popular EV are in New Zealand, despite these odds. But your article actually explains it.
In your posted article it says that the below-average battery life is because the Leaf does not have heating/cooling for its battery.
Extreme temperatures are bad for batteries and every other EV has temperature regulation.
The Leaf is a cheap car, so that feature was left out.
Luckily, compared to many other places, NZ has no extreme temperatures and a mild climate. So maybe those 18000 Leafs in NZ are doing better than average.
Also, there is always the question: How much range do peoplers need?
If I recall, when uploading a mod it says somewhere that a model downloaded from sketchfab must not have been uploaded in the last 6 months. This rule was made because some people downloaded/ripped illegal models and uploaded them with new faked licenses.
That model was uploaded "2 months ago."
So it would be unsuitable anyway.
On the other hand, it means that the account is active and if you contact the author then maybe he will reply. If he can show proof how he created the model then everything is okay.
But I get the same impression as you, it might have been taken from another game.
What do you want to trade?
You can upload/download setups here: https://www.lfs.net/files/setups
With license you can upload car skins and they get automatically downloaded when you play online.
There is also a whole subforum about editing/sharing skins: https://www.lfs.net/forum/29-Car-Skins and same for autocross layouts. (with license)
This thing is tiny
It looks very small in the video but I still wonder if the skale is correct?
Gear-display would be nice. (yes, not realistic but super helpful ingame and maybe it can be optional as config)
Also if you look backwards the reflection in the chrome rollbar make you super dizzy!
Very nice model.
The skins are rather basic though, maybe some can make some nice ones that fit the model. I would give it a try myself but I am not good at making formular skins.
Actually, looking at the skin template is it possible to re-arrange it a bit?
See the red stripes on this skin: https://www.lfs.net/attachment/412876
It would be easier to skin if the top-view would was lined up with the side views. Could be done by moving the top-view towards right. (Put the little square things somewhere else)
I did not notice before that there is a "no bodywork" option and just spend some minutes looking at all the details underneath, it is nice.
The two buggies would be good canidates for approval, if minor things are cleaned up and development is more stable. (aereo experimenting is finished etc)
Throw in some default skins and it would be good to go.
I am not sure if the "no bodywork" option should stay: On one hand it is cool to look at the frame and compoments. But it would look rather silly if in a race half the vehicles drive around with no body.
Maybe as compromise one of the configs could be a bit more see-through from the sides.
And maybe have one RWD and one AWD version? Like FXR vs XRR and FZR in GTR class. Gives a bit variety and an "easy" option.
But for dirt it is probably harder to balance than in GTR class because AWD will be such big advantage.
One color slider is body, second is seat, third one does nothing?
Is it mean to be interior color - interior is aways white?
In cockpit the red marked area looks bit strange too.
The cockpit instruments and fan turn into abstract art when hitting a wall. (sometimes even from slight crashes)
Especially the RPM gauge becomes unreadable easily.
Other mods had this problem too, no idea how they fixed it.
It is a public review system.
Anyone can comment on a mod and vote on it.
If someone has doubts about the legality or whatever or finds the model to be ripped it is exactly correct to post that.
Then you were asked if you can post progress pictures, so others can see if you really did create the model.
You posted one picture of the car in Blender, without text.
You probably wanted to show that this is how you created the model.
Problem: The model was actually downloaded, someone found out and posted screenshots of the meshes. So you lied twice. First by entering wrong copyright and second when being asked.
Irrelevant, maybe the GTA modder and you took the model from the same game.
Important is that you had wrongly put "original work" and that you had no permission to use that model.
In my opinion many mods that only give a link to a questionable filesharing site should not be approved. I do not vote on such mods because I have no way to check.
But how is that relevant to your situation?
Someone had found "your" exact model in a GTA mod.
Second thing is the 3d model itself. Did you create it yourself? If yes then you should post some pictures to show that you indeed are the creator. Sadly it has become necessary because too many people lied about that.
If you downloaded the model from somewhere then it must have a suitable license. Also, obviously it must not be ripped from a game or re-upload from a commercial site.
You posted a mod as your own "original work" but it was actually downloaded from somewhere.
Another time you posted fake wip screenshots and again it was a ripped mod. Another time you gave wrong source for the model, maybe again to hide that it was a stolen model.
I am not sure if you have a problem with the english language or if you doing it on purpose.
Now remember that you are not the only one who does not understand licensing or decides to use a nice model from sketchfab despite that anyone can guess that it has been ripped.
Now you have this mod waiting for review: https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/101407-LANDLINE-RE34
but with your history and the fishy editor pictures, people do not believe you anymore. At the end you started posting in russian for some reason despite that you can write english.
See some of the earlier posts:
The model is from another game.
Later henricat2006 asked the developer for permission to use the model but as I understand that would not cover derivatives.
Did you try in the same car?
Depending on the car and clutch it is normal that you have to release the throttle.
Maybe pressing(holding) a button gives a longer input than a turn of the mouse wheel?
well only 26 cars still exist and only 47 were made. It is in good condition (or at lest well restored) and it has become a bit of a cult car.
For 15000$ you can order a replica.
