Quote from Zavier :-no point in posting here then, huh? I guess this forum is only good then to waste everybody's time then... Good job you did Android. 5000+ posts nobody reads...

This forum is only good to waste everybody's time just because of people who don't search before they post their new and intellectual ideas

"Hmm.. I just got this game, I wonder if anyone has ever realised that they're lacking real cars? I'll post a suggestion to the forum seee! Might as well make a thread for real tracks and night driving and touge since they don't seem to be in the game!"

People should keep posting here, but with ideas that haven't been mentioned and discussed before. That way this section would be even remotely helpful to the devs so they could look up if there's something they haven't thought of - a quick adjustment of the parts of the game they're currently working on (which in this case seems to be the AI you suggested).

Why not LFS?

Online racing simulator

Besides, The physics of LFS would be too hard for mobile phones etc. If the physics would be simplified, it wouldn't be LFS anymore. So it'd be a normal mobile racing game with LFS content. Definitely NOT worth the development time.

Like Al suggested, an aftermarket one is a better choice, as the diaphragm of the original has been known to leak quite easily.

I'll just upload this here if there's anyone besides me who wants LFS menu to look like this. The garage background hasn't changed from the last design, other than being just a tad darker.

Extract to LFS root

(Yeah, I know it's very similar to ORION's design.. Let's keep it a secret )

EDIT: More colors, you can edit the colors to your liking, just please post them here also!

Nice, although you could've done with more experimental camera angles

A good post, unfortunately this is the kind of posting that gets people's hopes up for nothing. Hope for nothing = be positively surprised

Quote from Cr!t!calDrift :I mean, do you really want s2 to be finished in development, possibly even put on sale, and maybe even retailed? Publicized?

Like people have said, S2 final doesn't mean it'll be distributed to store shelves. Yet, I'd like to see the number of licensed racers rocket so we could have proper 24/7 online action.

But I don't want S2 to go final anytime soon. IMO, schedule wise LFS should've been final when the BF1 got released, now we're just waiting and waiting without any real (read: added or greatly re-worked content, that's what people are really waiting for) improvement. At this rate, the general public will grow bored to the same content that we've had for ages, and before we know it, Scawen will have to start patching up the game for the next Windows OS release..

It seems that progress is very very very slow, almost non-existant. I'm more than happy if someone can prove me wrong though

I'd be willing to pay anything up to 20€ for Bathurst. Laguna Seca & Nordschleife.. Well, I don't think I'd be racing on them that much, after all Laguna Seca is just the corkscrew, and The Green Hell is just too hard to have competitive racing on it.

And paying for the tracks, the only way it could be done would be to donate the money. With that money the devs could then acquire the
license(s) and everyone would get the track(s). Paying for the track wouldn't work since it would without a doubt divide the community into smaller parts.

But I don't think there'll be any real tracks in LFS before the devs lose interest and open up the game for mods. In fact, I'm afraid getting the next new imaginary track into LFS might be years away

+1 for this suggestion, just for the looks. I wan't my FZR to run on BBS LM style wheels because any other wheel just looks wrong. UF1/UFR could do with some Minilite look-a-likes etc.

Give 2 or 3 sensible designs for each car and the grids would look more alive.

Quote from sinbad :robot operated manual gearboxes aren't very realistic

They aren't realistic in real life either. Take any Renault Quickshift out for a spin and see for yourself!

The idea is great, combining better efficiency of a manual gearbox and the ease of use of an automatic. But the final product is annoying as hell, the electronic brain of the thing that operates the clutch and changes the gears via hydraulics is BAD.

I wonder how the supercar "F1 style" gearboxes are done, and how they are to use. At least with Renault's version it's impossible to drive smoothly in rush hour city traffic..

Adding content to LFS?

LFS isn't designed for 3rd party additions, it has no support for different mods being launched with the same exe, nor a built in support for different seasons (like rF). This means that each thing (car/track) added would make it incompatible online. Add one new car of your own and you can't race online. Even editing the existing content will make your game incompatible.

Why don't the devs support modding?

I guess it's a decision made when they started developing LFS. This way they can focus on making their product better without having to worry about any 3rd party content addons bringing trouble.

Would they allow modding if someone asked them nicely?

It has been tried over the years, by lots of people. It seems that some people think they're original and decide to ask for real cars or even a possibility to add some themselves.. Even if the devs suddenly wanted to add support for mods / addons, it would mean a massive LFS code re-write.. Will not happen in the near future.

I made a modding suggestion on this forum, and was attacked?!

Asking for things that have been discussed over and over again tend to bring up the anger in forum regulars. The game has been public for quite some time, chances are that an idea one comes up with has already been suggested. Search. I guess most of us would like to see more content in LFS, if it would be done by the devs. That way we would be able to play online, and be sure that if there'd be a problem with the initial release we'd get updates to fix any issues - we'd be sure of the quality.

All of the above are just my opinions, educated guesses etc. The words aren't meant to be offensive nor are they written to attack someone. But if you are new to the forums or are a stranger to LFS.. I promise, reading and understanding them won't hurt.

Avez-vous utilisé le traducteur de Google pour écrire cela, parce qu'il ressemble beaucoup à toi ? Je ne comprends pas le désordre que vous avez écrit, ai peut-être laissé votre ami traduire votre message.

Did you use the Google translator to write that, because it very much looks like you did? I don't understand the mess that you've written, maybe let your friend translate your message.

As far as I know, an updated driver & helmet model is in the works - but the stage when they're due is unknown (maybe never?). Helmet model was tweaked a bit when BF1 was released, the visor strip was added. Because of that I don't see any updates coming in near future, would make all the "new" designs obsolete.

I understand the people who have temporarily lost their custom views, it's hard to adapt if you need a special setting because of your different hardware or something. But, in general.. Well, i made a picture.
