The moderators here are too nice! At another board I moderate, if someone questions me, I lock the thread and send them a PM telling them to sod off. Only not in such polite terms.
But seriously all of you, the moderators, do an exceptional job.
Yeesh...such a temper. If I was were you, I would have just typed a reply along the lines of "Yeah, yeah, yeah...get over it. Can anyone help me out? I think...NO! I KNOW I am going to make such a kick ass skin, and someone here probably has an answer. Prepare to be shocked...and awed!" A little humor goes a long way, right?
So you want to skin a car that looks like that Eclipse. Well, go for it! If you have to spend 20 hours refining, tweaking, aligning, well then whatever it takes for the naysayers to eat crow. Right? Right.
As some of you know, this league was based on three car classes:
GT3 - LRF's
GT2 - UFR & XFR
GT1 - GTR's
But sadly, due to the unpopularity of the GT3 LRF class, I have changed the classes to make it more popular, with closer racing!
So, from now on, this is how the classes will be:
GT3 - UFR & XFR
GT2 - FOX
GT1 - GTR's
Yes, the FOX! Imagine this: all classes have slick tires, and the FOX is faster in a corner than a GTR, but about equal on a straightaway with the front wheel drive GTR's! It is a win win situation!
in regards to the Burnsy/Cawwa incident, I only partially saw what happened; if Cawwa would like to make a official dispute, I will review the incident and judge accordingly.
But I hope everyone saved a replay, the first 10 laps were worth it! Wow!!
Oh and Picard? You know if oyu started the race, you would have been THREE laps ahead of everyone? Holy Mother of Jesus.
The Server-The LFS LeMans League Official. Date and time: Saturday, April 21st. Warm up: 18:00 GMT or 20.00 CEST (Central European Summer Time) Qualify: 18:30 GMT or 20.30 CEST Race: 19:00 GMT or 21.00 CEST. 60 laps.
On Saturday, April 13th, I will send a private message to each one of the participants with information they must have, or the participant will not race!
Persons who placed first in their respective division will have first choice.
Rules of the league and other info can be found at: here.
For this race I am trying out the FOX to see how it works with the other cars. It may be open wheeled, but it still fits into the "spirit" of this league.
EDIT: Times are adjusted according to the poll.
EDIT2: The GTR1 grid is extended with one car since we don't have full grid and RevengeR is the truly race leader.
EDIT3: The server name is changed to The LFS LeMans League Official
Yes. But better! And I bet anyone 10 quid if you can find the word Vauxhall anywhere on the exterior of the vehicle. Plus it has the super reliable Ecotec engine.
Hee hee. If I did buy it or any of the others, I would sell it back to Scavier for the price I paid; I just want to buy the domains so they do not get bastardized.
It seems the LRF class just is not attracting as many people as I would like it to. See, I wanted to include 3 vastly different classes, like what LeMans used to have in the 1950's and 1960's. But sadly, the GT3 drivers are feeling left behind because the cars are slower, and also do not have the benefit of slick tires. So here is what I propose:
There will still be three classes of cars, but instead I will replace the LRF's with the FOX. Yes, I know it is an open wheeler, but keep reading. It will be slower than the GTR's over the course of a race, but faster in corners than the FWD's. SO it would be the middle marker.
This theoretically could make for some really close racing, as the FWD's are as fast as the FOX on a straight, and the FOX is as quick as GTR in the corners. And I do not know of any other league that would has these combos. SO the race classes would be as such:
GT3: XFR, UFR.
GT2: FOX.
GT1: FXR XRR, FZR.
I need opinions. I know what I want, but I only do one lap per race then spend the rest of it tabbing through the field. Go onto LFSW and compare hotlap times with the three proposed classes.
Rough estimate, I would say 25% of people here in the US have winter tires. Fewer still have studded tires. You just dont need them, unless you live in the Rocky or Cascade Mountains, or if you live in Northern New York or Pennsylvania.
For the most part, tire laws vary by region. In the Midwest, where I live, studded tires are frowned upon, and are unneeded because the roads will be clear of snow in 24 hours. We get 4-5 "big" snowstorms here (if you call 8 inches of snow big) and then its all cleared away the next day.
To show you just how big the United States is, I drove from Wisconsin in January to Louisiana in one day. The temperature went from 0 C to 20 C. I go from the arctic freeze to tropics in a matter of hours, all in one country. I think only Russia and China can say the same. It is truly weird.
I am always forgiving to non-English speakers on this forum if their punctuation, grammar or spelling is not quite right. To someone from let's say Estonia, it is their second or possibly third language.
But this txt speak, 1337 sh*t has to be not tolerated. If someone spoke like that in the real world, they should get their a** dropped kicked.
So for the ones who make posts or threads like they are using a phone or a blackberry: Please stop. Your sentences are confusing, and I will make it a point to mock and/or ignore you.
The lights show what position they are in, 1 light for 1st, 2 for 2nd, etc.
If there is anyone who downloads torrents, and belongs to a certain community that involves fish (those who know understand), my friend has uploaded the first 2 hours, and then all the rest will be later.
Here is a good example. My WRX has AWD; thus, all 4 wheels propel the vehicle all the time. Power deliver is 45% to the front, 55% to the rear. The nice thing is that it has an active differential, so if lets say the rears are losing grip, it will send more power to the front.
If a vehicle is 4 wheel drive, it means normally the rear wheels get 100% of the power. If you engage the transfer case, it will send XX% of power to the front wheels. The transfer case has 2 speeds, 4WD high and 4WD low. The downside of 4WD is that you can only go so fast with it because the front axle ratio is very high.
Basically, 4X4's are good for getting you unstuck. Or if you need extra traction, like if you are at a boat launch and need to get up the ramp. AWD can also get you unstuck, but is functional at ANY speed.
And that, is the beauty of All Wheel Drive.
Also, whenever the area I live in has a major snowstorm, it is always the 4X4 trucks that are in ditches, because the drivers think 4X4's are useful for driving speeds. Instead, they understeer badly. I myself have seen Geo Metros driving 60 mph in 4 inches of snow and Ford Explorers go flying into ditches.
