Hmm. I thought about trying to be diplomatic here, but to hell with it. Clownpaint, what is up with this? You want to make sure that the white man's extensive history of enslavement is not forgotten? Just how BNP are you exactly?
Question answered, it would seem.
It's Giovanna Amati, unless you are trying to be funny here. Freudian slip perhaps?
I long for the day when restarts are about as socially acceptable as a fart in an elevator.
I wouldn't normally suggest such an arcade-style feature, but I wonder what would happen if you didn't enable the collision detection until (say) one minute into the race. So accidents in T1 are impossible, as the cars will drive right through each other.
It's not that I seriously want this feature, as it would obviously ruin the sense of immersion, etc., but it's sad that something so clumsy could possibly solve the problem.
Or, trying to think laterally, what about spacing the cars further apart on the starting grid, thus trying to achieve greater separation at T1? And this setting could be server-specific, so you could go for a realistic grid like the current one, or a widely spaced "public server" style grid with car separations of 25m or more.
Setu, I feel your pain. One of the many difficulties in fixing this problem is that the people you are complaining about generally don't frequent the forums. "We", meaning forum readers, probably weren't the ones calling you names and trying crazy passing moves in the first place.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but I think it's important to note that they got killed fairly often in those cars. So I think XCNuse is right to say that a wingless FO8 would be dangerous.
Completely agree. I guess my point is that in the meantime, while we're striving towards eventual perfection () it might help to get some good collision and damage modelling into the game. When people really pay the price for their carelessness, particularly in the open-wheelers, then maybe standards will improve.
I think you're not seeing criticism because the ideas are excellent. Sure, we could pick on page-layout type issues in presenting all that info, but it wasn't your goal to produce a final draft, just a rough mockup, right?
Refining the "favourite" system could be cool. I can imagine having "hotlap favourite", "short race favourite" and "long race favourite" setups for instance.
While I'm at it, one feature I would love to see on the setup menu -- which would mean squeezing even more info on to the screen -- is to highlight the differences between two setups. I often want to look at where a recently donated or downloaded setup differs from my old one. Wouldn't it be convenient if there was a way to show both setups side-by-side, and even use colour-coding to indicate options on which they differed to a greater or lesser extent?
