Nice informative vids.
I find that it helps to have the visual steering wheel on in those cases and also as squidhead said it is better to freeze the video and overlay the text. It helps you imagine how to apply the instructions given on course.

Why to me is more like a speed hack or something? There is no acceleration whatsoever… the car from stationary state just gets moving with 500+km/h.

Good viceo. All cameras show that you tried to carefully pick them but some looked like imitations from other successful movies
Eg the camera showing the road passing at the beginning, it’s really used a lot from others, especially from the LFS Spain community.

If you have a lot of text info to show it’s not that bad to use it once again but you could have chose something a bit more interesting for just the “Spangler presents”.

Moving on the next camera is really nice, the following scene again is too regular and then again a nice camera with interesting FOV and height change, that could be in good use also showing some action.

The racing action shots are good but I agree with Big Time that they make the video repetitive because most of them are shot with the camera on the ground and in some points this leads you in mistakes.
e.g at 1.13 there is no way a real cameraman would be so low, ending his shot showing the pit wall…
Same story on 1.27 and we have to see the same shot again in 1.36.
And again at 1.57 where the camera is so low that formulas are hidden behind the tires, waiting 3 seconds to see them passing. In a slow motion movie with proper music it may look artistic but now it spoils the rhythm.
After a while (2.08) we see again the same shot you used in the beginning (0.27), I don’t know if it’s only me but I don’t like exact scene repetitions in a 3 min movie.

The image quality was really good and generally you can see the effort put in that vid.
But it could be a lot better in terms of content if you try to avoid some "mistakes".

In a closed fully predicted racing environment, alcohol or any drug doesn’t have that bad effect. In some cases you may think it helps you, maby because it calms you down and do spoother moovements or just it boosts your confidence-concentration to your screen and nothing else.

But don’t be fooled…

In open roads when you have to cope with the unexpected it’s more than crucial.:tombstone

Most have already said that.
Don’t think about it. If you are bored take a brake.
A good motivation may be the progress of your team, some league races etc.
Till the end of 2007 my connection was useless and I couldnl't race online not even in 10car grids... my only motivation to continue playing was setup making for my teammates...

I know I will play LFS as long it exists. So I am not worried if I stop playing for a month or so. (which I do regularly)
Its live for speed not loose your real life for speed.

Yeah that patch will contain language additions and some minor bugfixes

Didn’t say it is hard… it always depends on the mod anyway.
Generally it feels unnatural.
Can’t you state an opinion without insulting?

Because you can use a monitor in other activities apart from LFS. (watching movies or just having a bigger desktop for more comfortable use of some applications…)
Because a monitor comparing to any other pc part is an investment… usually you keep it as long as it continues to offer enough size & resolution for your needs.
It takes longer to save for a med-good monitor than saving for a med-good card.
Videocards depreciate way faster.

IMO just keep saving till you have enough cash to buy them both… but if you have to buy something first, that should be the monitor.

but all that is just useless talk if robt is happy with his monitor.

In that way I would choose the cheaper card from both chips

Great race action.
The movie needs some attention in details as others pointed out. e.g. low frame rates in slomo parts.

I’d prefer some camera changes instead of flashes or other effects but that needs way more capturing time, finding interesting angles.
I think you can do better but you are a bit lazy now

Quote from robt :so id rather the card was up to high resolutions when the time comes, rather then buying an hd3850 and a montior then needing a more powerful card as soon as i get the 3850. The card has to last a while.

Don’t invest in hardware… This is the wrong thing to do; buy a good video card when you have a proper monitor.
There will not de that much difference over time… in 2 years 3850 - 3870 – 9600GT, all will be the same crap.
Buy the hardware at the time you need it… not one year earlier.

So I guess this is normal. You just found a good reason to praise LFS

That sound's like reversed feedback. some mods don't need the feedback strength to -100

Also go to the RealFeelPlugin.ini file and set the FFBMixerRealFeelPercent=0.000000 for the mod you are currently using. if you haven't deactivated real feel allready.
It doesn't work with all mods so maybe thats the problem.

You can countersteer in ISI games you just have to predict the slide instead of relying on the feedback… it’s something you just get used to.
If Rfactor was as good as LFS physicswise, then no one would play LFS

Go to garage at the “general” setup tab, find “steering Lock” and increase it.
It will help you catch a slide but it may make the car more nervous.

Keep in mind that driving experience in rfactor differs from mod to mod.
Most of the mods out there don’t have proper suspension and mainly tire curves so they do not respond naturally…

Nice job but are you sure you can support a server with that high bandwidth traffic?
Youtube has advertisements to keep it running.. What do you have to keep this project alive especially when it is focused on such a small part of viewers?

Development speed on LFS is what the devs have decided… it’s tot because they don’t have enough money.
It’s their decision to increase the development rate and the price we pay for it.
You have done less than 12000km and you got bored already? These km are not enough to learn not even the basic racing line on every combo.
LFS is about racing competition… not fancy new cars and staff… (Although there is no one that would say no to new content additions)

Downloaded the HQ vertion.
The colors look ok on everything else except the sky. Maybe its time for you to add some “aftermarket” real sky while editing

The camera jerkiness you describe is clearly spotted there at some scenes eg 2:07-2:09 or 7:02-7:04.
I had the same problem when trying to capture at 0.250 speed … I haven’t a clue what causes it but it must be something relative with view smoothing and maybe a bad mouse sensor. I am not sure.

I like the suspention moovement

Hahahaha nice conclusion.
I didn’t like that much the color-level-gamma profile that burned the sky, but other than that thats a good movie.

Now apart from the technical part of capturing-editing a movie, I am looking for nice ideas-scripts.

Whatever. diferent opinions.

I didn’t see any crashing.
“Bad drifting”, ok you know better, I find it decent… XRG can drift but come on you have to admit that it is not easy to hold the drift for long with an underpowered car…
Bad carera work… I still think it is ok, with mistakes but ok. I have seen way …way worse…
“Laging.” Its something that can’t be avoided always… one of the first nice drift videos you and I have seen (from traction zero) was a lot laggyer…
As for the music I already said it has to do with taste. If the rhythm is no ware near the action, there is a problem but that’s not the case here even if there is not that good synchronization.
imo If there was Brilliant XRG drifting for me it would be something worth downloading in high ress… not just descent.

Anyway I am not willing to change your opinion I know that is not possible and you don’t have to… actually comments like this help video makers improve their skills… if they don’t get so frustrated to quit.

I think you are too harsh now.
Cameras are not really good but not that bad.
Drifting was ok comparing to what the XRG normally can do.
One year ago it would rock? And now the standards have changed that much?
Sorry man but all have the right to start from somewhere and evolve; they don’t have to be at DoN’s, unoceva, Lynce level to make a decent movie.
Lag is something that we can’t avoid sometimes and music, apart from the sync, is about taste.

Indeed it may be nothing special, apart from the fact that I have never seen XRG’s trying to twindrift in an other movie, put that doesn’t mean it’s bad.

I am looking forward for a big project from you. Take your time

I liked it to It’s a nice demonstration that with proper skill you can drift the XRG using more momentum and less power.

As for the lag, i have seen a lot "laggyer" movies and I still liked them

And no this movie doesn't suck... change the discription on youtube.
You don't only underestimate yourself, but also the opinions of those who like it.
