Well because my teammate's driving the FXR perhaps. And out of that thinking , he has plenty of drivers to choose from in our own team that practiced Westhill on the FXR So I'm in a bad situation, I've got to find another driver that is fast and consistent, of course I'm also looking at our own team. If anybody from us will get the FZR right then I shall drive with him. 3 of us are enlisted in this series, so that makes 3 2driver teams for this race from us.

Quote from zeugnimod : If someone sees and hears about LFS for the first time, he wants to know, which "cool features" are in it. And I would say, most viewers arent S2 licenced yet or dont even have the demo, so it can only be good for LFS.

Which brings me a little bit off topic: I've been asked by a speaker from the radio on which I speak myself if I wanted to be interviewed by him about LFS. That's gonna be in about 2 weeks. Well I'm gonna make that interview as LFS definately needs a push here in Luxemburg but I also told him that it would be best if we take also guys from other games. Not everybody wants to hear about racing, so I have to find out now which people here in Luxemburg are good in other games ( in terms of leagues).

Perhaps it would also be nice to know if the tyre wear is changed, as for example higher wear making it impossible to do long runs on R2`s or at least changes in a way that you could try some tactics (R2´s faster but more wearing --> pitstop sooner, R3´s slower but lasting longer --> later pitstop). Also at this moment R4´s just seem to have no use atm.

That´s nice news indeed.
As for Aston, some told that there are not too many layouts that are nice, I think exactly the opposite of this track. As National already is nice, for the faster cars. Historic is also nice and challenging, especially when you are behind a car at the uphill chicane, very easy to get beside the track there. Also As GP is a great track imho. From the longer tracks, Historic and GP are my favourites. Kyoto long just don´t works for me, I have to work really hard to get a medium laptime there but perhaps with the new tyre physics it will become better, wo knows.

Quote from ORION :Well, it depends if it first reaches the maximum temperature at which the computer will reboot (or the GPU reduce the clock), or cause errors first.

That´s right an that´s exactly what happened to me 2 months ago. Now other programs were not so sensible and only LFS had CTD. So I didn´t assume that it was an overheating problem although my system has this problem from time to time (due to a thing that happened which is not important here). Fact is that after trying everything from changing settings to reinstalling LFS, I looked at the CPU temperature and it then became clear that it was an heating problem. As Orion said the temp was not that high that the CPU would shut down but high enough to generate errors and thus making LFS ctd.

And it was CPU for me not GPU.

@SuperUK,
well if you cleaned everything than it is clear that the problem lies somewhere else.

Have you tried to install a fresh version of LFS or did you just reinstalled backup files (if you´ve made some) from the old LFS version?

Could be an overheating CPU, had this once. Clean your fan and/or your cooling ribs. But be aware to know how to do this, don't want that you damage your cpu and/or motherboard. Essientialy you have to take your cooling parts (fan and ribs) from your cpu and then to clean it. If you don't know how to do this it would be best to let someone that has knowledge of it doing this.

Well the new patch would spice things up for me if it was released in the next days. Thursday Ger EAS Race, friday 2nd quali in MoE, saturday 6h Kyoto MoE and sunday is the next round of Score GT Challenge. Probably the car settings will be wrong with the update and that would leave very few hours to redo 3 different setups that works fine. But on the other hand I also can't await the patch.

Well in short words, I had the same prob.
Turned out that my CPU Fan and my cooling ribs were dirty and thus hadn't their full cooling potential anymore. So in short words my CPU overheated. Not so much that the CPU would shut down, but only for LFS to do a CTD.

CPU: AMD Athlon 2800 XP+

Well I normally don't watch other teams close by, but it surely is a (bad) surprise. Never came into my mind that such a successful team could stop. Well time changes, think I can only whish you luck in your (real) lifes.

What about this situation: I am partially at my home and partially in my girlfriends place, can I unlock LFS on her PC too, for my uses (she doesn't race LFS and even doesn't understand how anyone can do virtual motorsport )

Unfortunatly I'm a smoker. But I'm trying to quit, although it's very hard. But it's not good for racing, slows your reactions down. (I smoke LM)

As there were no news that Williams would change to the old gear system I assume that they've already used the new one in the race.

Quote from thisnameistaken :The problem was Montoya was born with less talent than Kimi Raikkonen, which allowed Kimi to catch him and pass him. Montoya is also fatter than Raikkonen and couldn't carry as heavy a fuel load because he had to make room for all the pies.

Statement from the McLaren Mp4-21: My Montoya didn't work well

F1: Race in Bahrain

Due to results of the poll I'm posting the race results here.

What a race, a real great start of the 2006 F1 Championship. Exciting 'til the end.

But lets see what happened:

At the beginning Tiago Monteiro had to start from the pits.
The start itself was very good for both Ferraris but Alonso was better. But as Massa blocked him, he couldn't overtake.

Nico Rosberg was involved in a little skirmish and due to this he had to pit in lap1.

What was very nice to see, the 2 Honda drivers fought themselfes, something that you didn't see often in the last years. Normally you see that 2 team mates have something like a non attack agreement.
Also the 2 Red Bull teams (RBR, STR) fought against each other.

On lap 2 Ide got a drive through penalty cause his mechanics didn't leave the starting grid in time.

In lap 7 Alonse had a very lucky moment: Massa oversteered during the braking for turn 1 driftet past Alonso, Alonso was very lucky that Massa didn't run into him.
Due to flatspots on the tyres Massa had to pit the next lap, probably this is a very disapointing race for him.

First pit of Michael Schumacher was on lap 15, Alonso took the lead, Schumacher left the pits as 4th.

3 laps later Alonso had to pit leaving the 1st position to Montoya and exiting after Schumacher.

Bad luck for Fisichella, he had to abandon with hydraulic problems on lap 22.

In lap 30 Räikkönen took his one and only pitstop.
Also in lap 30 Jacques Villeneuves engine blew.

This was a very exciting phase of the race, Alonso chased Schumacher, never letting him take too much gap.
Lap 35: Schumacher 2nd stop, Alonso was retarded by slower cars at that moment. No one knew if he could drive enough time out to stay in front of Schumacher.
19 laps before the end Alonso took his 2nd stop, and it was a very close call, when he left the pitlane he and Schumacher drove into the 1st turn side by side, but alonso could defend his position.

The last laps were very exciting, we saw nice fights, like Rosberg against Coulthard and Rosberg against Klien (very good performance from Rosberg). But also Michael Schumacher tried to get Alonso but eventually Alonso took the win for his team.

Räikkönen, after an impressive drive from last place became 3rd.

Noteworthy is that most cars had no technical problems, there were only 4 abandons.

Toyota had a disapointing performance and they are surely have some work to do on their cars.

Well I think we saw a very good race with many fights on the track and it was never boring.

Well I can assure you, that as I'm directly involved I will not vote. I also don't know who voted no or yes, but isn't there a way to see that or to track that down?

It's true that this matter could have been settled without a poll. But as there is one, well what shall I say, I wait for the result (until the F1 race is finished)
