I'd like to do something involving driving street cars too (won't be a paid racing driver for a little while yet ). Ferrying cars for a dealer/rental company sounds swell, but there's basically nothing I can find about it on the net. The only thing I could find is organ delivery for the local hospital. Don't really jive with live organs sharing the cabin with me...
If you buy a product in a shop, the price is the same for everyone. It's not adjusted based on how many returns one type/gender/race/age of customer might make. If you DO return the item, though, you may need to pay a restocking fee. Penalty for ACTION, not innate traits.
So too should the insurance rates be. Flat rate for all genders, ages, etc. The price of the car insured, and the quantity of accidents and cost of damage (and other factors which are under your control) for the insured are the only things that should matter.
Crash more, price goes up. Buy a Ferrari over a Honda, price goes up.
The fact that I have to pay more because I'm 21 and male and I drive an "entry level" car is ridiculous. I dare any item shop to try that. See how fast the law would be on them for bullcrap discrimination.
Yes but there is a multiplier in addition to the shortness of it. Refer to the Sporting Code:
3.
6.1. iRacing.com™ places a high priority on safe driving at all times, but races, and other sessions when incidents can directly affect more than one competitor, are more important than Time Trials and single-car Qualifying. Accordingly, Corner & Incident Multipliers are applied when averaging a recent session into a driver’s Safety Rating.
3.6.2. Current Corner & Incident Multipliers are shown below in Table 3.6. Note that incidents are counted throughout each session, including during the cool-down period after the checkered flag has been shown.
(session) (multiplier)
Practice 0.0
Lone Qualifying (Oval) 0.35
Open Qualifying (Road) 0.5
Time Trial 0.35
Race Warm Up 0.5
Unofficial Race 0.35
Official Race 1.0
As you can see, time trials and warmups etc will have much less of an effect on your SR, both good and bad. If you do 10 corners in a lone qualifying session, only 3.5 corners will be added to your docket, and 35% of your incident points.
And what reason is that? That I'm an insecure ****? Seriously, prudeness is like a mental disorder or something. The human body is not frightening, shameful, or gross. Society just teaches people to think that.
Well, no offense guys, but y'all should have iRatings high enough to keep you out of the trouble splits. Bottom splits in rookies are full of <1k iRatings.
I hate Road Atlanta but I agree on the others. Silverstone is a good track but, I just couldn't get my act together and go real fast. I only managed a 1:33.6 as my fastest. Miraculously I'm still leading the championship. I don't have Spa or New Hampshire so I'll be dropping down the order over the next two weeks.
Yeah, that is the downside to the handling in iRacing. There seems to be less information in the force feedback than LFS or NKP, with regard to vehicle behavior, catching slides, weight shift etc. You do get used to it. The tire sounds will tell you a lot.
There is some hope that the upcoming tire updates will help, but it will be at least another 3 months before we get any updates and it will probably only be select cars at first.
