They should also do something about the people in race control, cause right now it's filled with stupid monkey's.

Quote from wark :You use the signal to tell the guy behind you to pass on the OPPOSITE side (they always point to where you're going to go yourself).

You can see this in a lot of Nordschleife videos on YouTube. I've never seen them used in an actual race, but that's probably because the only races I watch with different classes on the track at the same time are Le Mans series.

Signals can be really useful in LFS. (If bound to the mouse or wheel...)

As per the OP: -1, but I'd like to be able to press the same signal button again to turn it back off, à la push-push. (instead of using an extra off button).

Thats interesting, because I've read in a few racing books that it's the other way around. But I'll try to spot it on youtube later this afternoon.

If you wanna read from right to left, learn some hebrew shit or something, don't flip the decals....
And also choose some more "spectacular" shots. In here i just see cars driving. I;m not a big drift fan, but you might just impress me with 3 cars doing a drift around a corner in a formation, who knows.

Quote from Poffter :Racing SIMULATOR

You do use your indicators when racing road cars sometimes on some tracks. They mean on the track what they mean in real life, "I'm going this way, use caution". To even contemplate over peoples understanding of indicators is well, beyond me.

mostly they are meant as a point-by, like in pass me on this side

btw, can you backup your claim?

All 3 races were pretty good, but I hope some drivers will get a warning, because this is starting to look like the btcc more and more....

ans7812, why don't you just leave the thread before you say even more stupid things. Seriously, do yourself a favor...

That looks great icyocean. I've actually been wanting to write something like that, and the timing page of formula1.com, but just making it better and more flexible . Maybe I should give luaLFS a try

it surely looks nice, but i've made a rev light myself which had the exact same functionality and only costs 5 euro's

btw, didn't know that your rev light, which was made by todd cannon, also supported lfs

I had the same problem the whole day. I tried to use each individual dns server of my isp, but they all couldnt resolve anything lfs related, but thankfully opendns worked for me.

There are a lot of ideas and plans about h-shifters on rscnet, i'm sure you'll find something good there.

Quote from Greboth :Why is it anymore possible that McLaren, or an employee of McLaren, recieved a 800 page document about Ferrari than it is that Ferrari have made false allegations for a personal gain. Maybe McLaren did receive the document, maybe not. Maybe Ferrari are using dirty underhand tactics, maybe not.

ok, it's because he's black....

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :I'm saying Ferrari set all this up because McLaren are scorching this year and with a coloured kid behind the wheel. Hope it all blows up in Ferrari's face.

You should get a better brain to mouth filter, cause whats coming out of it now is pure crap

everything looks pretty good, except the wood texture which makes the car look like the ideal pimp-mobile

You kinda lost me there. What I'm pointing at is something I made for the zwr uf1000 league, where 1 message pops up for 5 seconds (describing if its lag start, or real start, it also blinked iirc), and after that it cleared again.

Is this something you're looking for?

I've never been a bush critic, until this year that is. What those guys at the white house nowadays are doing is crazy.
The whole war on terror was based on keeping the values of a democracy intact, which include freedom of speech.
We fight enemies who want to impose different values on us, but now Bush is taking the values of the enemy, and forcing it upon his own people, which is total madness if you ask me

I remember last summer, when i was deployed, that people in tel aviv were demonstrating against the war (which was distasteful imo), but no one prevented them from demonstrating. Imo that is a democracy, and I'm quite disgusted that Bush is redefining what a democracy is.

Quote from DarkTimes :The .NET Framework uses garbage collection to manage memory, although it allows direct memory manipulation as well if you need the extra control. And in my opinion C# is plenty fast enough for almost everything.

Well ofcourse i know that, i was saying that i dont know what memory management technique c# .net uses ( like in copying between 2 areas, mark and sweep, ref count).

Quote from thisnameistaken :C/++/# is probably overkill anyway unless performance is your number one priority. You'd spend more of your time fecking with the IDE and sorting out memory management issues and other low level nonsense than you would actually writing functional code. I'd go with an interpreted language like Python first.

Just my 2p.

C# is definitely not what you think it is. It's not fast and there is auto memory management (i dont know which technique is used though). C and C++ are hard yes, but not impossible for a beginner.
Python is nice as well, but I think a beginner wants to make a GUI pretty early from the starting blocks, and C# and visual studio express are very easy in that area

My advice would be starting with something like C#, and begin with an easy book like this one:
http://www.informit.com/librar ... Y_Csharp_24hours&rl=1

After you're done with that one, go pick up a novice book which teaches you more in the language fundamentals and language tricks.

If after that you still wanna program, you should definitely learn some assembly programming, or something about computer organization and design, otherwise you'll never know what a cpu can do fast and what not (and thats a good thing to know if you wanna become a serious programmer).

But basically, start with some Visual C# GUI programming which that link above is about, so you build up some programming confidence and after that start looking into more advanced stuff.

Well, yeah, 'j' is a special case, but another example would be 'b' which is 0x62 in hex, and as you might guess, it opens up the save replay prompt (which is mapped to the 2 key).
