Wooot!

I am a happy bunny!

I spent my afternoon at work refreshing the BBC Sport pages furiously to see what the score was!

Excellent result for us!

Well, I'm obviously rooting for Scotland!

I will be very disappointed if they don't make it out of the group stages! We SHOULD come 2nd in our group as long as we beat Italy, which will be tough I will be very proud if we manage to run New Zealand close, it should be a very good challenging match for us!

Either way I hope we really get to the quarters, and if we get any further then that is a bonus!

Only bad deal for me is the coverage! Americans don't watch much rugger! They are showing a select few games on Versus for the group stages, but they are all delayed I think and are sometimes days after! So I will know the results long before I get a chance to see the games! I just hope the coverage improves for the final stages!

OT: Sorry to go OT straight away, but you stay in Fife, Scotland? I stay in Fife near Cupar! I had to drive ~400miles also to go to the LFS meet a couple years ago.

....except i'm in Texas atm

Anyway, just to counter what The General said, I have heard stories of RAC guys supposedly having to meet a quota of selling parts. They would sell new batteries as standard to people who were stranded. However, I am sure this is a minority, and that I think that it was abolished after the story was published.

I'm in the USA at the moment, so I would love to meet up with some of you 'local' LFSers.

A 12hr drive to Atlanta doesn't sound like much fun though Unless anyone else is planning on driving/travelling from Houston Texas then I don't think it's much of a possibility for me.

I thought this interview was interesting, even though it is ITV.

What I am waiting for is a full legitimate radio transcript. Everyone seems to know what was said, but I have yet to see any hard documentation.

Quote from Christofire :They say that the UK is suffering from over-signing on the roads. I think they went a bit overboard with this one, I mean, it's not that bad:

I still think the US is far worse for road signs.

OT: Advertising bill boards are even worse. Make the place look a mess. Glad they aren't allowed signs like that back home.

Bovinium is quite humorous in my opinion. It is trying to sound like bottled spring water or something, but all it conjures up in my mind is some sort of 'cow water'!

This comes from the 'Bovin' part, leading me to think of Bovine creatures.....

Now just what is 'cow water'.....not quite as catchy as Gatorade that's for sure!

Also, I always though Hi-BITE was a brake manufacturer like Brembo or something.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those silly wheely wing hubcaps! Every time I see them I keep thinking "why are Ferrari allowed to keep using them?" They came in at the same time the whole 'moveable' wing debate was going on, but the FIA barely batted an eyelid. Also, after the last race I am very surprised they are still using them. Nobody said anything about the hubcap coming off on the main straight and causing several drivers to take avoiding action.

Toyota seems to be the only other team to have adopted them.

Quote :The WMSC is satisfied that Vodafone McLaren Mercedes was in possession of confidential Ferrari information and is therefore in breach of article 151c of the International Sporting Code

OK, I can steal £10000000.99 from the bank, but it's OK if I don't use it?

hmmmmm

I don't get the FIA's decision if they make statements like above.

Quote :The WMSC is satisfied that an employee of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes was in possession of confidential Ferrari information and is therefore in breach of article 151c of the International Sporting Code

If they were to say the above then their action would make sense, i.e. awaiting the verdict from the individual cases in the UK and Italy.

Quote from DeKo :
The governments are trying to introduce the wind generators and cut down the use of fossil fuels Because they are running out.

spelling police strike again!

I think that Global Warming does exist. However, I also think Global Warming is mostly part of the earth's natural heating and cooling cycles. I think the problem lies in that human emissions have accelerated and and exaggerated the effects of global warming. Effectively our excess emissions are 'the straws that broke the camels back'!

Even if we totally disregard the Global Warming theory, I still think it is a good idea to seek alternative fuels and sources of energy. After all, like was said above, current fuel systems will run out. (Which means I may be out of a job! doh! /me plans future career change!)

I am actually planning on doing a 8mile MTB ride, 5mile Run and 1mile Canoe. It is an orienteering based event too, so all in all it should be good fun. As you say, the stop-start nature of the orienteering gives you that extra ability to run/bike and then recover.

If all goes to plan I will be part of a two man team and be fairly competitive. I am most nervous about all the running. I can bike the 8miles easy peasy and adrenaline should get me through the canoe! However 5miles of running will be more than I've done before in one go. Previously I have just taken part in 5km runs....which I guess is alot better than nothing!

Ahhh, I'm just glad that I raced Bawbag when he first started playing LFS...that way I think I can say fairly safely that I beat him a couple of times before he started handing my ass to me regularly!

These days I don't stand a chance for numerous reasons I won't bore you with. However, if I were at my peak I can safely say that I could only race door to door with the fastest racers for maybe a lap or two, and at that rate it is probably just because of my blocking manoeuvre's! Once they pass me they would more than likely drive off into the distance.
