Talktalk Broadband utterly sucks for online gaming.
So I would like you folks to recommed an ISP that you have experience with who have provided a very good service and who have no qualms about allowing high gaming bandwidth, i.e. they won't throw the 'acceptable usage' policy back at me.
Note: I CANNOT use CABLE broadband, only ADSL ISPs please
They will most likely throw the 'fair usage policy' excuse at you. Just like has been done to me. Even though I am supposedly paying for an 'unlimited' service! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
You might want to note that my ISP only unblocked the ports for like a week before blocking them again. Buggers! So I am now in the process of phoning etc etc again
The problem with changing the port for LFS, is that the ISPs often restrict a whole range of ports. And even if it were to change to a port that is currently unrestricted then I am sure the ISP would detect it and clamp down on that port too.
You can't win unless you really get your ISP sorted out. I thought I was getting close to having it sorted recently as I was speaking to tech guys who ACTUALLY KNEW(!) what I was on about and seemed like they were trying to help.
Anyway it is an ongoing mess until I change ISP when my contract runs out
I would say you have to make the best use of the kart you already have. I am sure your dad will know how to help you get it upto speed and upto standard. You might be able to add some modern parts to it aswell to get it closer to modern specs. Other Karters will know more im sure.
However, the reason I say this is - you are asking about a cheap kart as you are on a budget....BUT you already have a Kart! Sure it might be old, but if it works and is close enough it will at least give you a start. If it is dead as a dodo then fair enough you can chuck it.
I tried the BF1 at Westhill reverse the other night and I thought it was brilliant! It might be a tricky track/combo but once you have at least learned the track it becomes much more fun flying round in the BF1
Yeah, LFS Arse isn't that big a problem for me, I have buns of steel you see! However, I do get LFS sore neck syndrome....I think it is just PC use in general though.
I know exactly what you mean. Recently I have been in the process of writing a reply, and then thought "what's the point?". Basically I have been policing myself by thinking, will my post actually contribute anything useful. Ok, sometimes ill spam a little bit for fun but more often than not ill restrain myself.
I agree with you on the second part too. There is a core of LFS drivers and forum posters, but at the moment there is not alot for them to post about. So unfortunately we see alot of crap arising. There isn't alot that can be done, but I am happy to sit in the back ground and make contributions when appropriate. Hopefully alot of it will wear off, but im not holding my breath.
Ditto.
I have said it before and I will say it again "If you don't have anything nice/constructive to say, don't say anything at all!"
Who cares, they can have all the money they deserve for this great game.
However, IF they do not want to disclose this sort of information, such as total lisences and total earnings, then I would hope that people would respect that decision and not delve into areas which they have been asked not to.
