Quote from jayhawk :See, this is what I am trying to say! Dont accept this celebrity garbage in your life. Ignore it, dont acnowledge it, turn off your TV (or watch public TV), read a novel, watch a Kurosawa movie and then write an essay on it, listen to Mozart or Miles Davis, go to Wikipedia and read about the French Revolution, for goodness sake! These retarded "celebritys" feed off your interest, ignore them and they go away. They are nothing more than whores on a street. Life is too short, and FAR too interesting to piss it away watching television, passively, and actually feigning interest with people eho only want your money and attention.

most sense ive heard online in a long time.

Purely to come back with some more positive feedback, I would like to say that the external sounds are a great improvement IMO.

I just joined an XF/XR server, and as soon as I joined I thought that it sounded pretty realistic for cars of that type. Once the revs are up to racing speed I can't really fault the external sound - bar an exhaust note. Low revs are a tad strange sounding, but I can't put my finger on it.

The difference between the XF & XR was also easily noticable, and I disagree with those who say all the cars now sound the same. I think this has more to do with people not being used to the new system.

The external view sound is obviously the same engine noise as in-cockpit, but with the cockpit noises removed. Therefore my conclusion is that too much emphasis/volume has been put on the effect noises rather than engine noise.

edit: enginewave13.wav sounds awesome
the other one is a bit funky.

As Scawen has said we can discuss in here then I will post my 2p.

Definately a step in the right direction. However, I think the gear whine is unrealisitic, especially in the road cars. I have never heard a road car with such prominent gear whine. SOME GTR/race cars have gear whine, but not all even at that. IMO gear whine should be either car restricted, or blended into the background rather than being such a prominent and individual layer of sound.

In general I think LFS sounds are too prominently layered, i,e, far to easy to distinguish what each sound it. There should be some subtle sounds which add together, not a mash of whine/engine/skids etc.

Anyway, for a start I think the whine should be reduced at least, just to allow us to hear what the new engine sounds are like on their own. The whine is just too overwhelming, especially in-cockpit.

Sorry to pick up on that so much, but atm it bugs me a bit. With the right adjustments I think it will be fine.

Id also like to echo the request for an added exhaust note. IMO this is the most crucial part of any car sound and so should be a main focus.

edit: I actually think the mp3 of the FXR above sounds awesome, especially for a GTR. The whine etc are just not suitable to road cars with sounds proofing etc etc.

Quote from mrbogeyman :This happened to several people over the evening.

I didn't say it happened to everyone. You might not have been there on the right night either.

All I can say is that it was definately happening to a few of us, at least at one particular point in the evening. Other than repeatedly pitting and exiting to check it was still happening, we didn't do any other tests over the evening to see if it went away or what it was caused by.

Haven't seen this bug posted elsewere, but quite a few people on the dSRC server had it the other night.

While racing the XRG on FE Gold. When exiting the pit screen the handbrake would not be on, causing us to roll forward into the pit lane. This happened to several people over the evening.

Quite a obvious bug imo, but I haven't seen it elsewhere.

Quote from AndroidXP :Nobody knows. But we should get patch V before Christmas.

Sssshhh, don't tempt fate! I think another flurry of test patches are required before final V anyway.

edit: bah beaten...

Korkki has only 1 post anyway, so bare in mind that he might not have been keeping track of these forums as closely as some of the rest of us. In all honesty, if I only checked the LFS main page then I would get frustrated too.

My self and P1lot recommend VISPA as a new ISP. VERY VERY VERY good

No limitations as long as you pick the right service for yourself. No hidden traffic shaping or any of that guff.

I am currently on a foundation course with my new job. There are people from all over the world on this course, from Finland to Indonesia and South America.

Almost every one of them can speak near perfect english, at least enough to learn about the technical features of the oil industry!

I have a great respect for these people, I feel so ignorant compared to them. Like many of you have said, English is the international language and it has so much media backing, that you cannot really get away from it. I just wish that I had been taught a second language from an earlier age, i.e. from 5 onwards. By the time I got to high school I was too silly to realise the major advantages that come with knowing multiple languages.

Ah well there is still time I guess if I really need to learn another language, i.e. through my work.

My user name stems from when I first ventured on to the net for on-line gaming. So it was during the days of Quake2 on Wireplay that I came up with Mr Bogeyman. I stole the format from my brother whose nick is Mr Marmalade (but has since changed to Mr Spoon).

Then I got hooked on NFS:HS and NFS:PU online so I had to shorten it a bit to fit on number plates and/or next to team tags....so BOGEY was used.

Anyway, no regrets about my username. Quite unique and original and hopefully memorable I think ive only ever once seen someone with anything close.

Actually it is also has a multi-meanings:
Mr Bogeyman - as in the scary dude or whatever (like the one that was on BBC for a bit )
BOGEY - as in the snot or crusty bits up your nose
OR
BOGEY - as in "Ive got a bogey on my six, aaaahhhhhhhhhh he got me" (bogey means enemy fighter plane/spaceship for those of you who didnt get my ramblings )

edit:
OR
BOGEY - a 1 over par shot in golf
DOUBLE BOGEY - a 2 over par shot in golf

Glad to hear that you are both settling into your new/recently renovated houses and that things are approaching normality once again.

Its good to have 'distractions' now and again to give your mind something else to think about, and so that when you come back to work full-time you are more refreshed and focussed.

Its always interesting to have a little peek through the keyhole

I feel like tearing my hair out trying to read this too.

More seriously, if you are 16/17 then you should be happy to get so much time away from your mum And like others said, you should be a bit more independant.
