Its not so much a fear, but just a reaction to a noise.
Alot of you will hate the sound of someone scratching their nails across a blackboard, yes? Well, I get the same spine tingling and hairs-on-end reaction when someone starts rubbing a carpet with a cloth. Its really weird, its just that really rough scrubbing noise.....im getting the shivers thinking of it!
I know it is completely irrational, but the noise just does my head in!
Wasp spray, bah, I use my patented 'Wasp Away Swatter' or in other words an old badminton racket It works a charm, although it does chop them in half usually and it is often quite hard to track down where the bits of wasp went...
Yes he let him past, but IMO the rules(! - for Renault :razz are so inflexible on what the situation is at the time that he had to be punished. I half agree with you, but it would take way too long to explain anymore
IMO the other 2 points are obvious enough that you don't need the other.
Ditto. I couldn't agree more. Point B) I disagree on, the penalty seemed ok at the time from what I remember....but that is a minor point IMO anyway.
And your sig sums it all up for me in terms of what the end of this season has become. If I were Alonso/Renault I would have taken far more drastic action against the stewards decision. I would have considered boycotting the race as a threat to get the penalty repealled. Obviously they wouldn't have taken that risk, but they really should have kicked up alot more fuss in order to get some action taken.
And for the record im a neutral! Kimi or Coulthard ftw! Williams for the finish!
I still recommend phoning you ISP to clear up the problem. There is no point in hoping it will just go away, and it will only take 5mins.
IF the LFS port has been resticted because of P2P software you can ask to have it unblocked. Sometimes (if you have a static IP for instance) the ISP can completely unblock all your ports to allow you access to anything, however this usually requires you to acknowledge that you are entirely responsible for all illegal downloads etc. At least I know this is the case with my new ISP that I have on order - Vispa. P1lot recommended them to me and I have asked them about this stuff over the phone. So your own ISP might not do the same thing.
edit: This 'traffic-shaping' and P2P blocking is becoming more and more common, so much so that I fear for the future of some online games that use port numbers within the P2P ranges. Ports can always be moved, and Im sure P2P users move ports too, but I am really starting to think that the LFS devs should look into making LFS work on a more accessible port. I know its not a LFS problem, but being an online game the risk of being choked by these policies is high. Are there any other strategies other than shifting port?
I would quite happily see Schumacher win an 8th championship, but not now with the decisions that have been made against Alonso & Renault. I would rather he won it outright without assisstance.
Having watched Massa's lap onboard I find it absolutely ridiculous that they even considered that he was held up. I could go on for days about this, but frankly I can't be arsed and I feel as though the politics of F1 have now spoiled what could have been an even more exciting end to this season.
I am not an Alonso or Schumacher fan, but for the reasons above I would prefer Alonso to win now - largely to stick it to seemingly stupid politics of F1 that are intruding on the racing.
I recommend searching around in this section. I have my own thread on a similar sounding problem. If you can't find the relevant threads ill have a look later and link them for you.
note: they will only be relevant if you have the same problem. I suggest phoning your ISP anyway. Try following some of the steps I outlined in my thread also, i.e. use Ping Plotter.
I have to agree with Gentlefoot, these Driving vouchers are such a rip off. A trackday is the way to go. I have looked into them myself previously, but found the cost vs. number of laps ratio to be ridiculously low.
I would love to do some, and if given a voucher or discount like yourself Im sure I would too. I think ill wait till ive got a decent motor and go for a trackday though.
Have a good time there! Watch out for the Glenvarigill crest!
