I actually raced Rael ALOT in the past, and he was one of the best racers i've driven against. He wasn't necessarily the fastest, but he was a b!tch to get past! Very fast & fair racer imo, but i'll ignore the alien stuff thanks! I think some of his laptimes are so slow because he hasn't raced since recent patches came out.

Quote from Lotesdelere : it's even hard to hear my own horn!
It's hard to hear other cars close to me, skid sounds are almost inaudible, I don't hear anymore the sound from other cars brushing a wall behind me, etc...
Patch U sounds may not be accurate but at least the whole thing sounded 'alive'. I have to admit I'm disappointed by the new sounds. It may technically be an improvement but the global result is poor

I agree with alot of what others have said, but the areas highlighted bother me in particular.

When I play with the Shift-A settings and get them anywhere near the level I want, the horn becomes completely un-audible.

Cars driving past has always been disappointing. Fair enough you might not really hear them from behind, but as soon as they begin to pass you should really hear them, especially once in front. In fact I would hazzard a guess that on a busy straight with several cars in front it should be nearly impossible to hear your own exhaust! I haven't been on a grid IRL that is that busy, but that's why it's a guess However, for normal overtaking by one car at a time then LFS is lacking.

I can remember my trackday at Knockhill when all I wanted to do was follow that damn fast TVR Sagaris! It's exhaust note was second to none that day and could be heard from way down the back straight in a following car, but in LFS I would have to be literally 1m from its backside to hear it's exhaust.

long winded way to make a simple point i guess!

just unzip to a differently named folder i.e. C:\LFS2, then copy across the setups (settings) folder, i.e. C:\LFS\data\settings.

Sorry dude, I have to agree with the above posts!

I was going to try and help you out, but I have no idea what you are trying to say.

When i go onto LFS.net having not been there for a while, i.e. partially logged out. Meaning that my Username is there, but the Password field is filled with asterisks (I mean filled - 32characters).

Therefore when I do log in I have to make sure I completely clear that field as it is very easy to miss a hidden asterisk, or mistake them for your password that you have just entered.

My guess is that the password field hasn't been completely cleared in these cases, but I may be wrong.

Scawen, I think you misunderstood that slightly.

What I think deggis is trying to say is that the handbrake should not automagically go off when you select first on the grid.

ATM starts go like this:
Handbrake automatically on.
Rev engine
Engage 1st & GO! (at this point the handbrake goes off automagically)

I think Deggis means:
Handbrake automatically on.
Rev engine
Engage 1st, drop handbrake and GO!

So it isn't necessarily an axis handbrake, but merely toggling it off with a button at the start. Just like setting off in a car in real life.

Quote from mr grady :

massa drove like a LFS noob.

My thoughts exactly!

Pretty good race though. I would also like to see the tyre rules changed. In the 2nd stint when Hamilton was on softs he was beginning to close on Alonso. Now that would have been an interesting race if he had been able to continue that pace.

I was also impressed by both Williams. Wurz coming through to 9th from last place and Rosberg seemingly on for 6th iirc. Shame about that reliability. I hope Williams can keep it together and have a good season.

Quote from evilgeek :heh, thanks. the sad thing is that my mountain bike is worth more than my car, and my car is a bmw!

gotta get my priorities sorted one of these days.

I don't even own a car! Using rentals through work atm. Will only need to get a car once im done here in the US. And my main priority will be "will it fit a bike in boot"!

However, every car I have ever transported my bike in has been worth less than the bike!

Well, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my cycle this morning.

I had to get up at 6am, started cycling at 8am in the morning chill, took an hour to defrost whilst on the bike, slogged my guts out some, defrosted my legs, rubbed my ass to get the feeling back, slogged my guts out some more and then stopped after 60miles.

Somehow it makes me happy!

Excuse my iPod ignorance...but can you not remove tunes from it?

So effectively I could remove iTunes completely and just run MediaMonkey instead? And I would also have the added capability of being able to remove tracks from my iPod.

How does it seem Al? You think you will be removing iTunes yourself?

The only reason I run iTunes is to synchronise, I still use Win MP to rip the CDs as it gets all the data including the album covers without having to register.

Another iPod question: When you are charging your iPod from your computer does it take friggin ages? I think I noticed that it charges quicker if you have iTunes loaded, which is a tad annoying but it does make some sense. I guess the USB port has to be set to charge by iTunes?

Thanks
