Yet another 'ive been banned thread' that has nothing to do with LFS General Discussion. You need to find the server owners forums and contact them there.
Sorry, but I just get annoyed with so many of these threads and I thought there was a sticky on this subject anyway!
How can you say that when nothing to do with the sound engine has been changed in ANY patch recently or even since a long time ago?
Correct me if im wrong.....
Also, could it just be that nothing else is set to use Stereo? Try a FPS game and turn around in front of a fixed sound source or something and see if it changes from one speaker to another. Music from WMP would still sound fine if it was on Mono, and even if on Stereo you would probably be unable to tell the different if just one of your speaker was slightly damaged, e.g. the tweeter is dodgy.
Who is your ISP? And can you see servers in the server list at all, or are they all too slow to join or you get cut off too easily?
My thinking is that that your ISP could have blocked the ports belonging to LFS. This is becoming more and more common especially with 'free' broadband packages that are over subscribed - read Talktalk.
Actually, saying Blocked is not the correct term, they are actually Restricted or Throttled. Here is a quick test for you....If you can be bothered, try online racing after 12.30 midnight. This is when my ISP (Talktalk) lift the port restrictions and allow full bandwidth on LFS ports.
It wouldn't be Blackwood without the chicane, the chicane MAKES Blackwood.
I also like Blackwood because of its lack of multiple setups. Like Westhill, it is a track on its own and not just a spaghetti multiple configuration track.
I like this idea alot. Especially a map rotation scheme. Alot of people moan about there not being enough variation in LFS, but with a map/car rotation scheme then people could have a great selection and a very varied session of races.
Obviously Hotlappers or people who are practicing/learning won't like the constant track and car changing but IMO it would make a nice change.
OT: Come back to LFS then have you doorman?
Im currently MIA with a dodgy ISP so I might have missed you on the servers/
Hmm thats a shame. I was ready to support another indy developer once it reached some sort of stable stage. I haven't been following its development on the forums much at all now, so I guess I never realised he has abandoned it.
I suppose it highlights the need for communication like we have here.
And what if the Europeans organise an event? TBH I don't see why not, hopping on a plane/ferry/train isnt too bad and beats driving everywhere. As long as it is near a transport hub like you say. Even if a van(s) was hired for the weekend etc etc.
TBH, for people coming from abroad I think where it is held is a moot point unless they are driving like me. I even considered getting a cheap flight/train, and I would think that people from europe would most likely do the same.
Sure it is always easier to get to 'central' England (read near London), but somewhere completely different really wouldn't be hard or make much of a difference for those who are already making a large journey. For instance, I would even consider going to a European event if it was big enough and well organised.
Very good game of football that. I enjoyed it as a neutral.
I wanted Germany to go through to keep the great atmosphere, but tbh at the end I thought Italy were just the better team.
And for those going on about diving, well I thought it was a great match played in a great spirit. Probably the most sportsman like performance I have seen in a game of football in a long time, which I think was partly down to the referee letting the game flow.
Back on topic: I think a LFS weekender is quite a good idea. Would maybe be best if arranged around a bank holiday weekend or such.
I personally would prefer activities rather than LAN party stuff. IMO a LAN party would take up the whole weekend in terms of setting up and co-ordinating, where as going to paintball and karting or whatever are more straightforward and less likely to be a pain in the ass.
England celebrates St.Georges Day as a national day.
Scotland celebrates St.Andrews Day as a national day.
Wales...um...remind me someone....daffodil day?
Obviously Ireland has St.Patricks.
The only annoying thing about these national days is that they aren't made into holidays, which I think they should be for there respective nations.
