Thanks! I'll keep track of that link for an English version.

Keep them coming if there are any other sites folks

Hopefully people will be able to search and find this thread in future. I sure as hell still can't find the thread I was on about!
F1 Replays (prob repeat thread)

Ok, I have searched a bit for F1 replays but the search somehow didn't come up with anything useful. I am sure many people have asked this before, and I'm sure they got some good links!

Is there any good websites for getting F1 replays?

Unfortunately I missed the Canadian GP, and it sounds as though it was a really good race! I have checked the Fox and Speed channel TV schedule but neither of them have any highlights or replays of the race.

So does anyone know of any American TV channels or a website that can get you full (or mostly full) F1 race replays? At worst I would try watching a streaming video, but I'd prefer a full file!

Thanks folks!

Quote from Ian.H :My ol' tank... needs a tidy up.. but a 3.0L straight 6 (pulls like a train) and comfort aplenty.. even better for being a freebie

Regards,

Ian

haha! Ian I NEVER pictured you as a mercedes man! Although I do love estate cars myself! Brilliantly practical compared to all these modern 'people carriers/SUVs'.

My dad just got a Focus estate and I can't wait to throw my bikes in the back of it! Nowt like a good old tank

Hi Vic,

I have tried placing an order using my VISA card and it will not work despite triple checking all my details were correct.

I have a slight suspicion that the 'enter bank name' field could be throwing it off?

No specific field gave an error, just that my card was rejected. I have used my card plenty recently so I suspect that it is fine, but if you would like me to double check with my bank I will.

Anyway, I have contacted you using the proper support form on the LFS shop site, but thought I would post here to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Quote from Michael Denham :I used to love playing NFS 2 SE with the McLaren F1, Ferrari F50, Lotus GT1, Ford GT90, XJ220, etc. Nicely modelled interiors and fast cars on country roads, what more could you want! Also all the cheats so you could drive school buses, Volvo estates, etc were a lot of fun Since then though I have not really found any of those games that appealed to me.

the buses ftw!!

my bro and i had some of the best races ever with those buses!

Quote from deggis :Am I right about NFS bling bling era games (everything after NFS5) being one of the most crappiest driving games ever?

yes, after nfs5 the series died. it would be nice if they tried going back to their roots at some point.

the cars were always nicely modelled and the imaginative tracks were great fun. it was good arcade fun. nfs6 was good in terms of cars and tracks, but the arcade handling was so bad compared to previously

i haven't touched it since, and never will unless they change tack.

mmm, they do look nice.

the models look slightly better than LFS, but I reckon that is helped by the more detailed textures on them. those textures bring it to life imo.
can't wait for lfs to reach those levels of detail, e.g. better head light textures & the carbon protectors. those in the wtcc screeny even have to bolts in them.

the first shift must be a down shift, i.e. motorbike style.

it has a bike engine and gearbox.

so to engage first you must shift down, then from then on you shift as normal. easy

Blur - This is a low.

A little OT: Is it just me or is the 'shuffle' mode on an iPod NOT completely random? i.e. I quite often I get two or three tracks from the same album separated by a couple of tracks. This happens so frequently that it can't be random. I think it must go through certain genres, bands or ratings based on the data it gets from the net.

I wish I could force it to be completely random.

I was reading the article on ITV F1 thinking 'these changes aren't so bad', but then I got to the joke section about 4wd, bringing back TC and the power boost addition.......what!

I mean seriously, what goes on in the heads of the people who come up with these rules? I can agree with making the engines more economical and related to road cars, but they then have to go and eliminate driver skill completely....AGAIN! Just as I thought F1 was beginning to go back to driver skill (in 2008 with no TC + slicks[?]), they plan to re-instate these drivers aids & more! ahhhhhh!

It's so badly thought through it makes me mad! It would only take a survey or a poll of current F1 fans to find a reasonable format that everyone could enjoy whilst being eco-friendly. Dumbass FIA morons...

I also noticed the traffic light texture has changed as well. I guess it's just part of the hi-res pack.

Quote from abz1 :
s2 = physics updates
s3 = graphics revamp

That was the idea at one point in time, but I seriously doubt if it will work out like that. To my knowledge I don't think this was ever actually stated by the devs, but even if they did I think things have changed too much for this highly simplistic approach.

Hmm I think we will never agree!

So why not agree to disagree!

To be honest I am on the fence on most of the issues being discussed here. Call me indecisive, but I can see the glass, it not half full or empty, its in the middle!

Sure it is taking ages and it would be good to see faster development, but tbh I am happy to keep playing LFS as it is and having alot of fun in the process. I enjoy the small patches when they come along, they keep me interested, and I love the big patches with content and major physics changes. Even the last patch with clutch preload has breathed new life into LFS for me.

I agree with the thoughts that Scawen should focus on more important aspects of the game instead of things like InSim. IMO InSim should be like a SDK and released afterwards, i.e. to breath life into LFS a while after it's full release. I know it is VERY hard for Scawen knowing what exactly his priorities should be, it's just that sometimes (to the average joe) the updates seem pretty meaningless unless they are bundled with a physics or graphical tweak.

I'm in no rush to receive S2/S3 full, but I just hope for the devs sake that they can pull some major progress out of the bag, if only for their own sanity and to possibly see some light at the end of the tunnel.

ah yes, there is that point. do they part-own at least the modern GP track?

surely they couldn't stop any other teams trying?

Quote from K.David :If Scavier feels the development process is heading the right way at the right pace, then fine with me. This is their project, they're not creating this for us, we just have the opportunity to follow the progress at a price. Because I think about LFS like that, I don't feel it is being developed slowly. It's like saying your neighbour is building the shed too slowly
Go Scavier!

How can they not be creating it for us? Do you really think Scavier expect to earn a living from their hobby if nobody bought and supported it? LFS is a hobby/vision that Scavier had, it has grown arms and legs and is now a product that is produced for the sim racing community.

I'm disappointed as well. However, now that BMW have done, who's to say that some other team might give it a try Red Bull are always up for a stunt or two, but their current drivers of Mr 'exciting' Coulthard and Mr 'moaning' Webber are far too boring to do it :P
