Some users can't be added to or won't stay in the ignore list because they hold some kind of privilege. Now this makes perfect sense as to stop people from ignoring posts of a full-fledged moderator.
OTOH I suppose I could start my own league with the next door neighbor, have it added to LFSforum and thus seize mod-ly powers and make sure nobody can ignore my posts anymore. Makes sense?
If it's possible I'd suggest overriding the ignore list only when reading the board in which the user enjoys particular privileges.
Otherwise I suppose the ignore list could be applied nonetheless, if I was ever to make the mistake and join a league managed by a person whose posts are stupid or annoying enough to have made it to my ignore list, well I can bite the bullet and un-ignore him or view the single posts as I see fit.
Truth is you don't need to be lightning fast to enjoy racing, it's just a matter of finding a bunch of fair drivers that are also as fast (slow) as you are
I've seen more or less the same problem a couple of times in the last few weeks. I usually notice it right from the start, even the menu music is sped up. When it happens, closing Z13 and reverting to vanilla Z does not help.
OTOH tele-pitting (e.g. from hotlapping mode), then going back on track the sounds are fine again. It lasts until I shift-F4, then the sounds go bad another time. If I try to play anything on fb2k, only static comes out. But closing LFS and playing something fixes it altogether.
FTR my sound card is an X-Fi XtremeMusic, the driver version from the properties is 6.0.1.1368.
Fair enough, I assumed WT always affected the proportional constant between physical wheel rotation and the virtual one, however it only works that way when WTC>0.
That even makes the description "specify turn angle of controller" wrong because the physical wheel turn angle is ignored really. Disable that slider altogether when WTC=0 would seem the most sensible way to handle this.
Depends what 'decent' means to you. IMO a decent time is low 35s, but since you added "non-alien", then you should aim for the high 33s/low 34s - of course using the totally unrealistic sets that are common for the XFG especially on BL1.
I would think the driver is able to notice that from the change in handling, without having the pit crew telling him?
Regarding sensors and whatnot, maybe it is that way in F1 and other top racing series, which in LFS would equate to what? the two fastest single seaters and the three GTRs?
@ broken I think giving demo users incentives not to lose their license is a good idea, but the benefit licensed users would get from this is dubious IMO.
And it would give them also another reason: get a license so they can get rid of the restrictions without learning how to behave on track
@ Keling, some users spend a great deal of time on demo servers trying to get unlicensed players involved in LFS (I've done this as well), and you probably feel expanding demo capabilities is a way to reward those licensed players, too.
OTOH demo players need to be reminded there is a much bigger world waiting for them when they get licensed, and NOT provided with a cozy environment when they will linger on forever. Adding more AutoX features does exactly the latter, providing access to a great number of new 'tracks' beyond the usual BL1, BL2.
They have to reach a point when they are enticed and want to go ahead but THEY CAN'T... unless they buy the license.
While pondering this nice quote it does not hurt to remember that at the time a couple reverent words could indeed go a long way for those intending to die in their old age
For the time being, all the road cars use at max 720° of lock (the new Scirocco will supposedly be the first car to feature 900°)
The scripts are for hardcore players who change manually the steering lock every time they switch cars. Basically you go into your lfs\data\script folder and edit every <car code>.lfs file, so that it has the correct /wheel_turn xxx command. E.g.
xfg.lfs
/wheel_turn 720
mrt.lfs
/wheel_turn 270
Otherwise you can just set your Wheel Turn Compensation to 1 and leave your G25 set to 720° and LFS will adjust automatically, but you'll lose the soft stops, i.e. the physical wheel will be able to turn 720° even if you're in a MRT.
I'd give you my scripts but they also set the shifter so it would not be plug and play anyway.
I agree, but I'm not sure you would get to heat rear brakes that much even in a long-ish race, seeing that bias is most often than not set between 72 and 77% IIRC.
The LFS guys are so nice regarding unlocks, hacked accounts etc, that I can't help but think you're in the wrong place. MS may be one despicable firm, but for the time being ScaViEr is not like them.
You can alter ingame lock with LFS scripts but unluckily you can't do the same for the physical wheel. The thing has already been discussed a bit in this thread.
(TBH the Logitech driver has a checkbox to 'allow games to change settings' but I have no idea if and how LFS could alter the lock. It would certainly rock)
I fail to see where I did act without respect or courtesy in this thread, the worst you can say is I had been a bit argumentative (like these boards don't see anything worse every day)
But I guess everybody is entitled to a different view, so nevermind, incident closed for me.
It's a public forum, if you don't like what others think just disregard it and do whatever is that you want.
My apologies for the unwanted contributions to this thread, from now on I will make sure to stay out from your threads, unless asked otherwise (and with the possible exception of Recommend a movie )
I'll refrain from making sweeping generalizations - I don't really know if anyone of the others is more deserving than him, but seeing someone step in and take a license for free "just because he can", not because he's really interested in it, it sounds to me like he's spitting in the dish he's eating from. Makes me wonder, is it possible there isn't anybody else who would make a better use of that license?
Then again I'm certainly not trying to tell you what to do, just pointing out what appears to be an absurd situation from the sidelines.
