My guess is they will launch a new car halfway(or a bit later) through the season.
And i wont be surprised if it looks exactly the same as the '05 honda, which would make them alot faster then midland

make sure u have your pedals on seperate axis in LFS controller-options also.
or they will always act as combined pedals ingame.

for your calibration u could try Dxtweak to adjust the axes

ati tool and a Nvidia geforce doesnt sound like a good combo to me.
suggest u remove atitool ,remove your video drivers, reboot
install new drivers and test again
if your problem stays try downloading coolbits (official nvidia clocking tool,found here http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815) and underclock (so lower then standard..not just lower then your current overclock) both core and mem by about 5%

If that doesnt help either.. ease up your systemmemory timings in your bios and underclock your processor also (this is assuming u dont simply have a heatproblem or similar gremlin) and try again

Overclocking often kills graficcard's memory... resulting in a dead card, or if u are "lucky", artifacts.


If u do find the fault, try and slowly, 1step at a time, go higher up till u reach the point where u get artifacts again ,then back 1 step down et voila u shouldnt have any artifacts anymore

U think he would release lfs ghost if he was selfish? nope he would keep it to himself and be the only one taking advantage of it.

Im guessing u never played ofp or u would definatly agree with me that his work is a standard higher then anything else (imho even higher then what BIS themselves added in patches and resistance addon)

and for LFS..well we havent seen the last of kegetys i bet.. I agree LFS is a top game. But i am without doubt if keg worked on this fulltime we would all worship him as much as we do now with the scavier team.

if Keg doesnt have a job yet, LFS should definatly hire him
Its simply amazing what addons and mods he has released.

I know of him since for operation flashpoint where he made THE best features ..dxdll,spectatorscript,all his work for FDF-mod..all top quality, almost genious, work.

Now he does the same for LFS : pitspotter,slickmod,ghostcar (mmm starting to drool thinking what else he might be working on )

All for free ,just because he likes the game
he has no dev tools ,isnt working on a game fulltime like the devs..and still he manages to release top quality stuff (often even better then what the devs come up with)

This is a pretty old bug.
had the same happen in a XR in S1, car landed on its nose and spinned all the way down BL straight. (i call it the cyclone move )
Sometimes spinning faster..sometimes slower,but it never stopped untill a new race started.
posted a thread with attached replay in the rsc bug section back then ,but dont think it ever got solved.
This is not just about weird crashphysics at times ..but a car doing iceskating/breakdance spins on its nose for eternity
It looks funny ,but it sure isnt realistic
Lets hope scawen squashes this bug in S2 final once and for all

In sprintraces cars that get stuck in the sandtraps dont get pulled free. That is true, but they still get lifted over the wall by a towcrane.
And in endurance races u verry often see cars that got stuck being pulled free so they can continue their race.

So we could still use a crane in both..either to lift u behind the fence or to pull u free again.
Not only for realisms sake but also because it would be a nice visual feature for any racer

I think the combination of using unrealistic setups(aka too dangerous/twitchy in real life) and there being no moose-test for our cars might make most of this problem

But it could aswell be related to the cars flying miles high after a crash. Maybe somewhere the gravity or forces get miscalculated at times.

If i am not mistaken dE was bought by f!rst.
They shut down the shop because there were many many delivery problems but are supposed to reopen someday with a more professional crew.
Guessing the reopening will coincide with the launch of the new f!rst game.

Ot: soon as i heard they were taken over by first i wondered what would happen to the dE commercials in LFS. They are part of the competition now after all ,and im not sure anyone wants to give his competition free advertising. Not even the nice guys who make LFS

i never said anywhere i want to have reset removed.
But like many others here i like the extra tension sandtraps bring. U learn to take those corners a bit easier ,maybe put your ridehight 15mm higher(not much slower..but big difference in sandtraps).

But im arguing AGAINST making reset even more of an acrade help. It allready is annoying right now. for example..had a race where the leader spun out, stopped with his nose 180° on drivingdirection and facing cars flying towards him midcorner so he couldnt do a 180° and blast off again without waiting.
Well he just hit reset the instant his car came to a stop and drove on..didnt have to wait for cars to pass,didnt have to align his car again..just reset and off we go.
which is definatly a fast recover if u consider how long it would take normally
So im agruing about making reset even worse in that aspect.

However i do like your idea for a timepenalty. IF it is implemented right. So u go in the sandtrap, u wait for the towcrane to arrive and have them pull u out, or if your car is too damaged to continue they lift u over the wall.
Should make everyone happy..u can continue after trying some paris dakar and getting stuck , u get a timepenalty, and noone uses reset to gain stupid advantages.
Imo it would feel stupid to get stuck ,resest ,get a message "10seconds will be added to your racetime" and thats it.

if u go offroad alot, jack up your ridehight and u can drive over most sandtraps.
it adds to the tension in long races or just when hitting a sandtrap and trying to keep speed so u dont get stuck.

reset allready bugs me when u see ppl abuse it to recover fast from a spin ,just resest and blast away in the right correction..no waiting for traffic or wrestling your car in the right direction.

sticky dirt also helps slow down trackcutters
so even if its not totally realistic

I had similar problems not too long ago.

Unplugging all my USB devices except the steeringwheel ,
then redownloading/installing LFS did the trick for me.
Somehow having my headset and mouse on USB while playing LFS gave BAD stutters and the occasional crash.
Strangely unplugging them alone didnt help, but after a reinstall of LFS everything was back to normal.(yes tried using USB again after reinstall and got the same damn stutters)

Wasent dE taken over by First?
Could be funny to have everyone who never got a refund(or who got wrong products) join forces and start a lawsuit.

I'd like to see how those First yanks try to bigmouth their way out of it..and of course wouldnt mind them getting a little bit of their own medicine (aka a lawsuit over actual stolen/disappeared money instead of one over virtual "theft" )

i know it isnt a standard carrera engine,
but i also dont think the top teams using these engines use it as is..they send them to a highly specialized tuner who gives the engine a good tickle. intake,exhaust,ecu,internals and so forth.


This is not just a cup car (standard as built by porsche) but a heavily tuned version of it as used in top GT races.

since the FZR is a race prepped car u shouldn't compare the engine to a standard one.

send that bog standard GT3 to a famous engine tuner (guys who prep engines for le mans ; 24hr spa ; ALMS ; ...) and have a look at its torque figure then

whoever doesnt see this as exploiting weaknesses in the LFS code needs to go on a social behavoir course.

according to your reasoning if i find a bug that lets me go quicker through corners; have more power ; maybe even shortcut sectors so i can lap a track in half the time.

Dont know if your P4 has hyperthreading, but try to disable/enable HT (depending on setting u use now)

Some programs dont like HT that much.

i had the same problem.
LFS locking up for a few seconds then running fine again ,over and over. Made the game totally unplayable as it would happen each lap and online it was even worse since it disconnected from the server each time it froze.

Think it started when i switched from an USB headset back to a normall one(plugged into audigy card)

Simply deleting LFS folder(after backing up my setups) and redownloading the game fixed it for me
