Hi there. Mr TV here lol. Yes I am sorry I cannot get all pools "televised" - the main problem is that there are usually 2 pools at any one time, so only once can be recorded. I always stream the pool I am in (whilst i'm driving) and if possible, as many as I can around that, but with our current system, means 2 other races, and I have no choice (well not much) of what pools I host and stream. Before Fireball left we were going to experiment with two streams, but, alas, we are stuck with one at the moment.
I thought Nassa Ant (who kindly arranged our new servers) said that they would work with spectator, so, give it a try.
Action replay is cool, and does sound possible, as you can do that with things like Sky+ and Tivo (if I could do it on this sort of setup though, I really do not know).
And yah, if someone does want to send huge money our way, I think the thing that would be best for us is a VGA capture card.
Well, I'm not exactly sure. I'm running the latest opera, and when I loaded the test stream page I was running, it worked. You'll just have to try it at around 3.30pm gmt when I put the stream on, and see. Failing that, you've always got Iexplorer, and even Winamp/VLC.
I am happy to announce OLFSLtv is now viewable in a browser frame, either in FireFox, Internet Explorer or Opera. Click on OLFSLtv on the left menu <<<
You will be asked to install either a plugin (FF) or ActiveX (IE) for it to work.
IE users will probably see the yellow security bar pop up, you must allow the ActiveX to install.
FF users (ignore the green plugin symbol) click the link at the bottom, then choose to allow lfs-league to install plugins, then click the link once more to install the plugin.
Opera users, I think you have to install the plugin via Firefox first.
p.s. It is still possible to view the stream in Winamp/VLC.
p.p.s. Any problems, please post.
----Notes----
There will be a small reduction in quality, as I had to swap codecs for it to work in a browser window, but I think the positives outway the negatives in that respect. I will have the stream running a little early tomorrow, so that everyone can have time to install the plugins, unless, they wish to continue in Winamp.
What I meant was, with all the practice we'll be getting, what with Nassa Tune up and this one you're doing, is we'll all be more 'practiced' than usual, and hopefully faster as a result.
Does anyone know a loop hole to the tv out problem where if you clone your screen with the tv, any video files in a media player do not show on the tv, just an empty media player with sound?
I did send out an exclusive newsletter for donators last year, in out test era with Fireball. However, I have deleted all details of past donaters for privacy reasons now. If people are interested in an exclusive newsletter type thing, I don't mind doing it.
Hey, it is for the viewers, but I gotta have some fun myself you know, and, choosing music is how.
Happy to take comments on board, for example I'll be doubling the audio VBR next time out and hopefully increase the video quality too. Also the commentry quality, think the inclusion of fruit flavoured vodka drinks will help with that.
I know not all of you are fond of music for the stream, but it will be staying.
But to make it interesting I am asking for people to submit suggestions of 'Good Driving Music' that they would like to hear on the stream.
Things to remember.
1) I want good driving tracks, not floaty ballards.
2) I get to decide if they are used.
3) Please do not post links here to illegal mp3's PM me instead.
Definition of a good driving track.
It's got to be loud, have a good beat and good tempo too. But bear in mind, offensive songs will not be played, the odd 'naughty' word is ok, but songs with just expletives is not.
Well, anything is an appreciated donation to OLFSLtv. As far as sponsoring goes, again there isn't really a minimum limit, but if you're after some sort of advert/banner then please contact me by message or email to sort something out :-)
The tune ups aren't official OLFSL events, but are kindly arranged by Nassa Ant and his Nassa buddies for us (and all S2 racers) in between events. So, there will be a tune up this coming Sunday, and yes the times will be posted here on the forum.
Love the picture mate, thanks. Although I think 50 euros is a bit expensive, people will end up getting it from Limewire or Bittorrent at those prices.
