Quote from Gutholz :sinanju, your layouts are great but ..... so many random messages and icons popping up, it blocks view and is too irritating.....

On a single display, you wouldn't have this problem, as all the InSim "stuff" appears as far left and right as I can place them in the allowed 200 wide InSim window.

Looks like you're using at least 2 monitors, with the problem that the InSim "stuff" that is placed on the right hand side of the left hand screen, is appearing in the correct place if it was a single screen, except because you have a screen to the right of the screen with the text on it, everything on right hand side of the left hand screen looks like it's in the middle.

I suspect (now) that if you had a triple display setup, the InSim and LFS text would all appear on the left and right sides of the middle display, which would make it much better arrangement to 2 screens.

I get what you say, although some people like single laps as it lets them adjust their car settings after each lap, rather than at end of session. Others because if they crash or make big mistake, quicker to start again.

Each to their own.

Normally, when I use AutoX layouts on my server, I only do single lap times/drift scores from standing start.

On the layouts I've put on this forum, it's easy enough to just edit the layout and change laps=1 to laps=n (where n = however many you want).

I've attached layout where Livingston B Reverse has been edited for 5 lap run. I've also made couple of cosmetic changes to layout.

I'm now using this on my server (Sin'rs) to see what people think of the 5 laps instead of normal single lap format.

Couple of AU1 Autocross Layouts - Livingston A, and Livingston B.

Also supplied B in reverse format.

'A' is the short layout, and 'B' is the extended layout.

Track is at least 45ft/14m wide, so lots of space, however some of the turns are bit tight, although I have seen some skillful drifters getting round really well.

Caterham (or at least the Administrators) have finally made the majority of their staff redundant - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30074346.

Still looks like they're going to be at Abu Dhabi, although nothing on who will actually drive the cars.

Abu Dhabi is on same weekend as Formula E race, so don't suppose any of these drivers will be swapping over.

Maybe Toto will pay for his wife Susie to drive as an early xmas present?

What happens when you have people cutting multiple turns multiple times?

Say you're on your 3rd warning for turn 1, 1st for turn 2, ok for turn 3, 1st for turn 4, ok turn 5, 5th on the chicane, etc, etc? Get a bit hard for driver to remember penalty qty for specific corners - especially on long races.

Isn't it not better to just have a penalty marker circle a bit within the track boundary, which allows a driver to put a wheel a little off track, but not excessively so, and this will (maybe eventually) teach drivers to respect the track boundaries.

Once drivers get spec'd few times for cutting corners, they either learn rules - or leave server!

However, I do like your idea for a circle object that you can bind an InSim command to (chat, action, etc), as currently you can only use a square x,y zone. Would also make it so much easier to place rather than try have to work out coordinates.

You are not allowed to edit / mod the shape of the cars.

The CMX viewer is used for viewing car 'skins'.

If you have S1 or S2 license, best you log into forum using the user name you chose for the license, and not a demo account, else everyone will think you are a hacker, especially asking the questions you did.

If you're using Nvidia graphix card, you could try any or all of the following;

Right click desktop, click "NVIDIA Control Panel". Under "Select a Task..." on left hand side, should be an option for "Stereoscopic 3D", then "Set up stereoscopic 3D". Make sure that, on right hand side, the "Enable stereoscopic 3D" box has not been ticked.

Go to Start, click "All Programs", scroll to "NVIDIA Corporation", open "3D Vision" folder, and click "Disable 3D Vision".

Go to Control Panel, search for "NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver 344.46", and uninstall. Also uninstall "NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver 344.48" (your version numbers may differ from mine).

If not using Nvidia, what kind of GPU card are you using? What kind of operating system?

The best way to race the AI players is to put on the AI race line (press 4 key until Green line appears).

The AI players will follow this line. They will go full speed where line is green, lift/slow when the line goes yellow, and brake when line changes to red. So if you stay off this line, or are at least aware of it, you can allow for it and you'll likely not be bumped as much.

Fairly simple layout suitable for all cars, and wide enough for drifting.

From over 170 completed laps, which were done online on my server (Sin'rs), best times for slowest and quickest cars were;

. UF1 62.71 seconds ([><]Sinanju),
. BF1 48.42 seconds (Slidaaaa).

Edit: Other versions available in posts below.

Don't resize - leave the game to change the sign's square dimensions to fit the rectangular space.

Quote from CZE :I think i have it form some Hi-Res DDS pack what i download on this forum.What you mean by Proper Dimension?
(my image size AC_uni_sing is 500x256)

This sign is used in AU1 AutoX in front of one of the large buildings.

The original sign (University of Kent) is 256x256 then extended in game to fit a space 512x256.

If you had the same sign as me (hospital sign), then it is mis-sized 512x256.

I've included both the original and the custom texture signs with correct dimensions - see attached.

To use, just unzip and add the texture you want to use into your LFS/Data/DDS folder

Why are you so worried about the 103%? Why not just do it for fun?

I'm 15th in the 'Nutter' rankings, and the only thing I've worried about is doing the best lap time I could. If I though I could maybe have gone faster, then I'd keep at it.

Then I load my lap. If I'm lucky, there were people slower than me. That made me feel great.

The fact that I'm not in top percentile probably means I don't have what it takes to be the best motor racer - but then, with my age, condition, eyesight, eye-hand coordination, mental acuity, etc., I sort of knew that anyway, but because there's usually someone slower, I can kid myself that if only I was 35 years younger, then maybe....?

My advice is to start with the Oval - both ways. Should be fairly easy to get within certain percentage of top, but it will teach you to be very smooth and very precise. This will be useful everywhere else too. But prove to yourself you can do it. Do it with every car, starting from UF1 and working up to BF1.

After that, try the short lap tracks. Something like South City. Start at SO1, and work your way up. Some of the configurations have same corners or sequence of corners, so you should get used to getting round them quickly.

Try about 12 to 15 laps, saving best of them then upload them. Compare uploaded laps with racers who've posted faster lap times using same controller, etc., as you've used.

Have they taken different lines to you, accelerated or braked in different places, using higher or lower gears than you in certain places? Using that info, try see if you can beat any of your times. If so, save and upload. If not, try different track.

Alternately. There are 940 different car/track combo's. Only 6 people have done them all. Probably the rest of us have concentrated on the shorter track configurations. Try a few of the really long ones and see how you get on.

All I've done is, using Paint.Net, got the blank car mask from Master Skinnerz site (HERE) and downloaded the alternate Netherlands flag (from Wiki), which I've then pasted on top of each section of car (e.g. roof, left side, right side, etc) and stretched it to fit the section, and turning it 90 deg for bonnet, front and rear sections. See sample image.

I deleted the wire frame layer to make things much simpler.

Once the flags have been pasted onto the mask, then either save that as your file, or, swap order of layers so flags are bottom layer and car mask is top layer, to give rough idea of how car will look.

Text/Logo's can be overlaid onto new layer(s) as appropriate.

Not the most professional way of making car skin, but a basic skin can be done this way in under 30 minutes.

Search for $EnableRotation and set to true.

On the line that starts #$RotateTracks = then remove the hash at start of line (lapper ignores everything after a hash on the line it appears on) and put in what tracks you want to rotate, and in whichever order you want.

You could try LFSLapper.

Easy enough to edit the lfslapper.lpr file in a notepad editor and remove the bits you don't want.

If you just want a simple welcome message, you would only need to keep 2 sections of the file - the bit that starts
Event OnConnect( $userName ) # Player event
and ends
EndEvent

along with Language section at bottom of code - everything after
#Language Translations#

The text within the language section can be changed to anything you want. Eg, existing has
main_welc1 = "^7Welcome {0} ^7to ^1LFSLapper ^7powered server !%nl%^2Type ^7!help ^2after leaving garage to see commands.";

You could change it to something like
main_welc1 = "^7Glad you stopped by my server, {0} ^7. Hope you have a nice time";

The {0} is where the drivers nickname will be placed.

Surprisingly, there is no German translation, so you can make your own.

The above piece of coding text could be changed to
main_welc1 = "^7Gut, dass Sie von meinem Server gestoppt , {0} ^ 7 . Hoffe, dass Sie eine schöne Zeit haben";

and although it's in the English section (Lang "EN"), your text will still be used.

I think your statement says something about your morals.

However.

If you're willing to pay a fair price for some code, I may be willing to sell some code to you for 1 monetary unit (eg Pound, Euro, Dollar, Ruble, Lari, etc) more than you, or any one else who is willing to help you, is willing to pay.

Morally, I have to inform you that I may change my mind at any time, may be prepared to cheat you out of your money, and that I can make no guarantee that any of my code will work, especially as intended, nor that I can guarantee to supply said code in my lifetime.

Any code will be copyright, and will need to be licensed daily for use. This will be a proprietary software license, and the license fee will be over and above the fee for supplying the code. The license will be for single use only. The license fee, like the code fee, will be 1 monetary unit more than you are willing to pay.

The code, or any part thereof, cannot be made public, that you will have no rights of complaint if the code does not work as intended, damages your computer, and that no maintenance or updates will be provided. The License will restate these same conditions. Violation of any of these conditions will require that your license be revoked and that you will be liable to an unlawful fine that I think is unfair and punitive.

You may not misuse the code, nor use the code in a manner that it is not intended. Using the code does not give you ownership of any intellectual property rights to the code or the content you access. Other than as expressly set out in these terms, I make no specific promises that the code reliability, availability or ability to meet your needs. The code will be supplied "as is".

By using the code, you are agreeing to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Payment for any code and licenses will need to be paid for well in advance and before I go on holiday or into hiding. The price will be fixed until midnight, September 30, 2014. Acceptance of this offer must be made before the offered price timescale runs out. All times are GMT.

If you are willing to pay my prices, and agree to my caveats, then please list what you hope the code to do, show and achieve. You may use images and/or activity diagrams.

I reserve the right to ridicule, mock, scorn and ignore your work.

Quote from Yisc[NL] :A GlobalVar is used for every player on the server. So if one person sets it to "true", it is true for every player.

Because you've pointed out the obvious, I now get it. Doh!

Proof, because I'm in my late 50's, that's you're never too old to learn. Just not as quick. Like my racing.

I tried to add drift points to a drift score if you enter a specified zone using your working sub-routine

Sub SA_ConeScrape1($userName) # Player Event
globalMsg( GetCurrentPlayerVar("NickName") . "has passed the zone" );
EndSub

and then adding the line

$DriftScore = $DriftScore + 100;

so the sub-routine code now reads

Sub SA_ConeScrape1($userName) # Player Event
globalMsg( GetCurrentPlayerVar("NickName") . "has passed the zone" );
$DriftScore = $DriftScore + 100;
EndSub

However, if you use that code, then lapper will crash, restart, crash, restart, crash.....

If adding drift points when entering the specified zone could be done, then solution could be by using and setting variables.

Possibly a Global variable

Event OnLapperStart()
GlobalVar $Conescrape1; $Conescrape1 = "false";
RegisterZoneAction( "AU1" , 56,-819, 1 , Conescrape1,"" );
EndEvent

which you could change from 'false' to 'true' if you entered the specified zone

Sub SA_ConeScrape1($userName) # Player Event
globalMsg( GetCurrentPlayerVar("NickName") . "has passed the zone" );
$Conescrape1 = "true";
EndSub

and then use an IF statement (within the Event OnDriftScore( $userName ) # Player event) so that if the variable was true then you get the drift points.

Or with using Player variables (e.g GetCurrentPlayerVar/SetCurrentPlayerVar).

To be honest, I really struggle with variables, especially the Player type, so I can't tell you if variables will actually work, and if they did, which to use (global/player), nor how to code them.

Thought I'd try my own suggestion for using bicycle handlebar tape on my G25 to try thicken the grip, but its far too thick to use, and because its so thick, bit inflexible.
