LFS is kinda old, but its always fresh and exciting, I don't think I ever felt bored playing LFS for 3 years.

It only gets better and better when I met more friends, improved my driving, bought myself better controllers... more to come from Scavier, this is too good! :d

Just replug your usb cable, the wheel will recalibrate and it should be fine after that.

It happens to mine sometimes too, pretty often.

Grandsurf, you just kept adding more and more stuffs on it, I wonder when you're going to stop...

btw I just noticed you still lack an Ebrake handle, maybe that's next?
Will LFS recognize a serial port joystick?

This is the joystick I'm referring to, I am getting one of a guy for free, and I'm planning on utilizing this joystick as my Ebrake handle (with a bit of a modification), thing is, I have no idea what this model is, and its probably more than 5 years old, and uses a serial port instead of USB.

My question is, will LFS recognize this serial port Joystick?

Quote from Riders Motion :Answer of a non-drifter

Next one please!

He IS right.

As long as you flicked your car sideways around a corner purposely, whether its faster, slower, higher or lower angles... that is showing off, it's what drifting is all about, having the fun, excitement and of course, for show only.

I always thought Kid is one of the most interesting forumers since the RSC days, and he still is right here at lfsforum, many of his replies are extremely amusing, or should I say "entertaining". Some of his contributions were great, I'm still using his high res skies, and I had his "LFS-planet" as my wallpaper for quite a while.

But I really don't understand why he would go so far out this time around in getting himself banned... again...

I'm with Gunn, G25 is still overpriced, not by a large margin though, but I still consider it overpriced.

And about paying more for better wheels/pedals, those prices are what I consider as "out of this world" LOL!

G25 is a good wheel, and it's the "cheapest" you can get on the market so far with its features, so I'd recommend it too, I personally don't think it's worth it, but I'm willing to spend that money (still aches my heart whenever I think of all the money I've spent on a toy)

GO GET ONE!

staticxposition, congratz on the S2 license~

Since you're into drifting, I'd like to invite you to LFS-Torque, a great community filled with drifters from all over the world, you'll love it there, drop by and say hi!

ok back on topic, I am currently using the paddle (behind the wheel) as the Ebrake (which I always did when I was still on the momo black), doesn't really work that well with 720 steering rotation though.

Been thinking of modifying my wingman pedals to an Ebrake, still getting ideas...

I use 30 in game FFB. The rest of the settings are the same as the rest have mentioned.

When I get good enough, I might increase the in game FFB bit more.

Quote from farique :small map replaced by a BW scenery of BLGP.. now thats gonna looks awesome..

I think a small map is better, if they go for the scenery, then that means an increase in cost definitely.

Anyways, I like the idea of the logo in front, map at back.

For general LFS videos, I'd vote for Joecool and Don's video, loved all of their movies, they're awesome.

For drifting, nobody beats KamkoR, too bad he ain't making any nowadays.

There's quite a few rising talents in the drift movie making scene right now though, which I enjoyed a lot too.

I've thought of this before when the skin autodownload feature just started.. here goes..

What do you guys think of having the driver suit as downloable skins as well?
We have car skins, then with S2 we have helmet skins, so how about driver suits as well, the suits are currently stored in a separate folder and they're editable, but they're limited to few suits only, and once you changed the suit to your own likings (e.g team suit), everyone else may be wearing the same suit as you as it's still under the same file name.

I know this idea may not be too visible as it will take up too much capacity, but wouldn't it be nice to have downloadable driver suit skins?

Quote from Scawen :Well that's not true. Please - if you want to say that I've said things, and you are interpreting them very loosely, could you post a link to the post? Otherwise you are just spreading false information and attaching my name to it. That's how rumours start.

Eric is working on S2 things. He obviously will not work on S3 specific things until S2 is finished. The only thing I could have said about Eric not working full time is that for some time this year he was moving house.

Happy New Year Scawen & Eric!

Give us S2 soon!

Quote from mr_x :one thing i'm struggling getting used to is that i'm using clutch with my left foot not the brake and the brake is bloody stiff! What doesn't help is that I can't heel-toe at all either :P

so far, very impressed!

Yeah the brake does takes some time getting used to, but once you're getting the feel of it, its great.

About heel and toe, maybe try and repositioning your pedals, a little higher and a little tilted forward, try to simulate the sort of angles which a real car pedals have, and it'll be a lot easier. I just did that last week and the G25 experience just raised another bar. With enough practise, heel and toe comes as 2nd nature.

Much thanks TagForce, and yes I have a G25.

I've read Shotglass posts in another thread and I've already figured it out myself, never knew there's such great feature, gotta love those scripts!!

Quote from TagForce :BTW, for ultimate realism...
I have created scripts so that:
The paddle cars (BF1, FO8) move the brake pedal to the clutch pedal
The FO8 turns autoclutch ON (there's only 2 pedals in paddle cars)
All the GTRs with the exception of the XRR use a sequential shifter instead of H-gated.
The only thing I have to change when going sequential is the dial on the G25.
Works great!

What sort of a script is that? is it free for sharing?

I bought the G25 for the exact reason of being able to drive LFS using 720 deg steering rotation, manual clutch and the H Shifter. If I were to remain using the wheel only with such a low deg of rotation (open wheelers/GTRs are exceptions) and no manual clutching, why would I even get a G25 in the first place.

The above only applies to LFS road cars though, for GTRs, I'll normally reduce the steering rotation as in game and uses Seq gear + clutch. Open wheelers (though I haven't really gotten too involved in any) I'd prefer paddle shifts as they should anyways.

Yeah, being slow (and a noob in drifting) is a sure thing at the moment, but its the learning and the driving experience that makes me love the game even more, thanks to G25 of course.

My 2cents.
