SatCP, would you mind posting some pictures for these steps? I think it would be of great help to many of us (or those that still thinking whether or not to get the G25) if the cogwheel grinding noise problem arises...
The scoring system is flawed of course, but it is still very well executed when the driver is performing properly on the track. And some drivers (like me) actually find it helpful and informative (on the drifts)
For some of the better drifters out there (LFS wise), the scoring system can actually be a pretty useful tool for them to evaluate their own drifts, and from there on, they can understand in which aspects they're lacking at the moment, speed? or angle?
I had fun in servers that uses this drift scoring system. I think it can be a pretty good tool for drift competitions too, with someone to monitor on of course.
Don't get upset of all these ignorant discussions, you're far better than that, it is people like you that makes this community a better place (well it is.. sometimes), I wouldn't want you to leave anyways, hehe. (well its actually ain't that bad nowadays, RSC was far worst back then :S )
I love the LFS the way I like it, I play it the way I want to, and of course, I hang out with the people and friends that I choose, instead of trying to squeeze in with the rest (while I still respect them), or to prove something. This has kept me out of trouble for almost 3 years, and I had the a lot of sweet memories and great moments in LFS with lots of friends along the way. Simply awesome.
We'll keep our drifting to our drift servers (and all the drift related talks at some other forum), and the racers to their race servers, it's all good.
plus, if you leave, we'll lose another great person/driver here to show to the rest of the LFS community what's real drifting is supposed to be.
I'm in a dilemma too..... do I buy now, or wait a little longer.. since I already read some bugs from the wheel... but there are some that still ok with it....
I don't see drifting helped to improve anything in racing though, but one thing for sure is that racers that has drifting background rarely spun as they're too comfortable with catching slides.
But thing is, catching slides is what makes you slow, my problem is that I'm too used to pushing the car over its limit, and having a hard time finding the right limit or zone for the car, and I always get frustrated as I tend to oversteer at corner exits, while the other racers just passed me by and say bye, hehe
hmm... I'm not so sure about the the top left one, something like "sticky skin" (that's a straight translation so it sounds funny), but I'm assuming its the leather.
top right = stitches, by hand (something to do with the leather again, I assume)
It actually made a lot of us better drifters than before.
Angle? I am capable of pushing my XRT to the very limit, speed wise, angle wise, and all the while maintaining a smooth line.
Some of you just need to open your eyes more, real drifts? heh, in fact we're doing stuff more amazing than real life, how can you compare? LFS is still just a simulation/game, imitating the drifts like real life is easy, simply because we're not afraid of crashing. You don't see 'real drifts' in LFS, but you can see a whole lot better drifts than you could in real life.
Trust me, the 36 degree is just fine for us/you drifters out there, you just need more practise and some setup tweaking.
