Line: 7
Well, I know the line pretty well, the problem is my cornering skills (or trying so freakin hard to keep the car straight), my braking, corner exiting are pretty messy I can say, especially the rwd cars, I'm very used to oversteering so clearing a corner is not too hard, but its a matter of how fast I can clear that corner without sliding too much (hence losing speed), that's what I lack of.
Consistency: 5
Mediocre I'd say.
Race Craft: 3
I constantly finding myself avoiding other racers or giving way to them, my driving style is pretty conservative in terms of racing, I don't dare to push too hard if I'm capable of overtaking the car in front of me, one of the reason could be my lag issues too, if I stick too close, I might just blew my opponent away with the lag, which would be bad.
excessive countersteering doesn't really work sometimes in a RWD, its the matter of how smooth and how fast you counter steer and "catches" the oversteer.
you're not using a FFB wheel, so it may be hard for you to judge whether the rear tires are starting to skid/slide... its not the matter of how much you countersteer, but how early/fast you made the counter steer when the car is starting to skid or slide. I'm sure in the replays you've watched, those guys didn't really counter too much, but they "catch" their slides fast enough with just the right amount of counter steering, thus eliminating the oversteer in short time.
Being in a team is better in a lot of ways, of course that also depends on what team you're in.
In a good team, you'll enjoy the most out of it, as you get to do a lot of fun stuff together with your teammates, your teammates would look after you and so would you.
You get to race for the team, you get to wear the same skin with many of your teammates, which looked real cool on track together, and most importantly, you'd be making some best friends you have in the game of LFS.
another alternative method would be opening a media player outside LFS, that's what I do mostly. I even do it when I'm driving in game, musics... even radios.. :P
but if you have problems with low fps in game, then I guess that's not recommended.
what does he has to do with server? or connection issue? or even LFS?
if only he plays LFS as well... lol
anyways, I usually find the most players online during the weekends, if I play LFS early morning, I'll be meeting up with players mostly from the US, during afternoon or early evening, some of the australian servers could be packed as well.
here in Malaysia we tend to lag at most of the servers, we get best pings from the nearby countries, namely Australia. but for most of the other european or US servers, I'd be lagging quite much.
It's painful when you can't even have a decent driving fun with your best buddies at Poland, or in the US.
Drifting is a very subjective sort of thing, it doesn't appeal to everyone, but for some people, they find it very exciting and cool. And while others may think the drifts he saw is bad, it may be great for others.
Drifting is a part of motorsport, but it is not a race, so don't get confuse, I'd think of it as something similar to figure skating, or X-games... like others mentioned, it is purely for show, they're doing it for the hype, for the adrenaline rush, and also for fun, it's ain't racing.
oh, Drifting is still evolving, but for now, the main judging criteria on a good drift is:
speed + angle + and lastly line (XCNuse you missed this one )
I used to play loads of games(RPGs, FPS, Sports, .....Hentai?? lol) back then, but Live For Speed overkilled them... and now I play only LFS.
I'm sure I'll be playing F.E.A.R. when its finally out, I love Doom, and I love Half-Life, and F.E.A.R. seem to have the best out of these two games, should be cool.
The first ever horror movie I've watched in a cinema, and sad to say I got so scared I can barely sleep with the lights off for nearly two weeks..... freaking awesome... freaking scary.... man... memories... the nightmares... brrrr~~
Lord Of The Rings
Need I say more, best fantasy movie ever made and also the first that ever get it done right. simply brilliant, gotta love fantasy movies, next stop, Narnia... hehe...
well, don't we all love LFS for it's realism? racers or drifters, they're all aiming for the same thing, doing the things they like or desire in the most realistic manner.
The tyre wear gets a bit of time to get use to, but it provides you with greater challenges, now in S2, instead of trying so hard to drift the whole track, most of us are spending more effort in keeping the car on the track while getting it sideways through corners without spinning out. The people that still drift right now are only getting better and better, most of them are doing great, and they're still enjoying the game a lot, just like me.
IMO, the addition of the Tyre Wear = more realistic gameplay = more fun = happy me
wow.. I've read through the manual briefly and I'm very amazed at how well the manual is being done and written, there's a lot of information well put and detail explanation and tips on everything, I even discover/learnt a few things that I've never known about LFS after I got this manual.
